Me and one of my daughters have got food poisoning from “Bella Italia Norwich riverside”
Will never eat there again
The day before we ate at the…
The day before we ate at the restaurant, we checked with the BellaItalia Uxbridge restaurant if we needed to book for the next day, the staff said no. The next day when we turned up for our meal, the staff said they are fully booked when they are only half full and will not seat you down without booking. It has happened to us twice before. However, on this occasion we insisted on waiting till a table is free and told to sit at a nearby table. Whilst waiting, we noticed that the staff were seating other customers without booking as long as there were groups of 4 people or more or young customers who, l assume, will order alcohol. The restaurant was only half full. A lot of the customers they seated without booking were only ordering £5 pasta, tap water in a jug to share out and no starters or dessert. Only one or two of these seated without booking ordered the £5 pasta and a cocktail. We ordered 3 starters (2 King prawns, 1 mushroom), 2 pastas and a large still bottle of water for the two of us. I bet we spent more than the others stated above and yet they would happily turn us away. Oh, we also gave tips. Why would anyone be surprised if BellaItalia were to shut shop if this is their attitude towards customers.

Pleasant and efficient staff and a lovely meal
Avoid Peterborough
Food was disappointing, the spaghetti and meatballs were very oily and bland. We ordered a brownie for desert which was very dry and they had no vanilla ice cream which is included.
Service was bad, servers pick and choose when they accept discount codes/vouchers. Don't except vouchers on bank holidays even though this is not mentioned in the t&c’s. Without this the food is very overpriced for the quality.
Wouldn’t bother going if you want an enjoyable meal, server Mark is very loud and rude.
Sadly really gone downhill
I live in Blackpool and went to the one opposite the Winter Gardens today. Bella Italia used to be a favourite to go to - pasta was always lovely - but today I tried something else.
Started with dough balls with garlic and mozzerella - when it first came it was unexpected - basically instead of the garlic being inside the balls - it was outside in the container and the cheese melted on top - but even though the cheese and oil was hot - the dough balls were still frozen. The waitress did take it away and got it cooked a little longer - but still not your standard dough ball - and this way is not a good way to cook them - as they are sat swimming in oil instead of a bit of oil in the middle of each ball.
The next thing I had was the Christmas pizza - the waiter that brought this swore that the pizza dough was freshly made but it was thin and solid as cardboard - I couldn't eat all of it - it felt like the base had been made and frozen then heated up - and the underneath was also on the cold side.
The latte and red wine was good though - and the staff was excellent - couldn't be any nicer or more helpful - its a shame though because bad food will reflect in the staff tips and that's not fair.
As mentioned Bella Italia used to be one of my firm favourites - sadly no more.
Ordered online for a late snack
Ordered online for a late snack, only to have the order cancelled by the delivery driver 2 minutes before the shop was due to shut. Absolute joke of a business and absolute joke from Uber Eats.

Both my wife and I had dry barley warm pasta and our portion of chips where tiny and soggy as anything and our portion of garlic bread consisted of two tiny pieces this was in the Inverness restaurant TERRIBLE FOOD WILL NEVER TO VISITING AGAIN

The food was no better than a microwave meal, and the pasta dish I ordered was barely warm. No salt and pepper on the tables either. Doubt this chain will have many more years left when there are way better competitor italian restaurants around.
Castlegate Dudley
Visited the Castlegate, Dudley restaurant - poor service with just 2 young waiting staff to look after the whole restaurant. Food delivered by robot waiter which I found a little sad. But worst of all was the very bland food. Will not be returning!
ITALIANS WOULD HOLD THERE HEAD IN SHAME
Just had what could only be described as the worst Italian meal ever ... starter smallest garlic mushroom starter probably six mushrooms in a puddle of garlic soup with a piece of garlic bread about 5 mm thick cut from a baguette then out came the carbonarra such a stingy portion of which we complained about so they gave us some more to which I think the chef got the hump no panchetta just two large bits of bacon rind most of putting the place was abismally quiet of which I understand why now and ludicrously expensive avoid at all cost .
Appaling customer service, food not great
Had vegan and glutenfree lentil ragu, not meant to be spicy at all, since I suffer from IBS. It was SO spicy, even my partner, who is used to spicy food, found it very spicy. I asked for a replacement (plain fries) and they took the pasta away. They still charged me for the inedible dish that was taken away, so my partner couldn't even finish it. They started arguing with me in front of everyone else that the meal wasn't spicy at all. Very poor customer service! In the end they lied about taking it away and it took a long discussion and them speaking to an alleged manager who I never saw to finally take the dish off the bill. Also
The crockery was filthy and not cleaned properly, had to ask for fresh cups. Not coming here again!!
Enter at your own risk! …AVOID
The Chicken burger was so tough I could not cut through it, (likely reheated or re-cooked, so sent it back. The second burger has dried on cold cheese on it that could not be swallowed. The ‘chicken’ was a processed meat with absolutely no flavour. This was without a doubt the worse meal of 2023. Shocking!
My promise to Bella is that I will never darken your doors again, but I will tell everyone what I think.
Worst meal ever ….
The food came cold so sent it back and when it came out again was still only warm. Waited ages to be served as there were not enough staff. The food was also tasteless. The guy serving was run off his feet but was very pleasant but was not happy when we didn’t want to pay the service charge as he felt that it was about him. We felt that he should not have challenged this. This was at the strand.

Taplow
Get off the high street your service food is not up to standard !!!!!
Great food & even better service
We went to Bella Italia twice during our stay at centre parcs in Whinfell and on both occasions was served by Mike.
He was an excellent server and always made sure we were okay with everything.
You could look around the restaurant whilst you were there and see him giving the same amazing service to every customer and everyone.
Food was lovely, I had a chicken pizza for the first time and seafood risotto the next meal and both were delicious
Food intolerance issue situation managed well by further actions
Our group of 4 of us visited Bella Italia Oxford, one of party has food intolerance, which was advised in advance and acknowledged on arrival. Notification also put on the table.
Probably through busyness and noise this was not picked up on the order placed and food intolerance was delivered on 2 occasions one main and one dessert. Highlighted at the time and subsequently further, once we left
Bella Italia have initiated intensive training on this matter immediately and have apologised for the situation that occurred. This is a demonstration how to make a negative into a better positive experience ensuring things like this won’t and don’t happen again.

Diabolical food was cold craggy and cogealed hardly any carbonara very disappointed
What a terrible experience
What a terrible experience can we remind Bella that the pandemic is over and we can go back to service by humans Not order on your phone pay at the beginning and it asks for a gratuity before you’ve had the meal? Awful.
