I have recommended BaseLang to several friends.
All the instructors I've had through BaseLang were very good.
I especially like the BaseLang Blog. The lessons there are especially informative and helpful. They get right to what you need and want to know. Some exercises to accompany the Blog posts would be very useful.
I don't care as much for the lessons, although they are mostly useful.
I’m loving BaseLang at the moment
I’m loving BaseLang at the moment. I’ve got some time to dedicate to my Spanish journey right now and I’m able to book lessons when I feel like it.
Some of the teachers are so much fun, others no so much but there’s no issue if you don’t click with someone because there is a lot of choice.
After a week and a half I’m more careful about some of my grammar and I feel more confident speaking.
Absolutely the best way to learn Spanish!
Baselang is incredible value. If you take two 30-minute lessons each day, it works out to be about $3 per lesson. The teachers are all great, and you can request the ones with whom you work best. The curriculum is sound, with each topic being introduced, then built upon in future lessons.
The Absolute Best Way to Learn Spanish – Worth Every Penny
I highly, highly recommend BaseLang to anyone serious about learning Spanish. I’m a 45-year-old U.S. native who recently moved to South America for the long term, and I quickly realized I needed to learn the language fast. After checking out several in-person schools here in Medellín, I stumbled upon BaseLang through a ChatGPT search and decided to give it a try.
From the very first week, I was blown away. I did about 20 hours during the $1 trial and learned more in that single week than I did in seven months of daily Duolingo practice. The unlimited one-on-one lessons for $180/month are an incredible deal — especially compared to local in-person schools charging $10+ per hour.
The best part is the flexibility. You can choose from dozens of teachers, find the ones that fit your learning style, and experience different accents from across Latin America. If you travel or have a busy schedule, being able to hop on a Zoom lesson anytime makes it unbeatable.
BaseLang is hands down the fastest, most cost-effective, and most enjoyable way to learn Spanish. Whether you’re living abroad, traveling, or just want to finally speak fluently — this is the program to go with.
My only regret is that I didn't start sooner.

She helps encourage me to speak with a lot of patience. I feel my comprehension is a lot better. She has given me some tips to improve my fluidity and confidence.
Love it!
First of all, I’ve met some really wonderful people from Spanish speaking countries. Most of them are great teachers and really fun to talk to you. The curriculum has helped my Spanish a lot. I love that. there’s so many choices of things to do in each class. You can do the core curriculum or elective or conversation or a combination. It’s very entertaining, and a great learning experience. I’ve really enjoyed it and do it for more than I planned on. Because it’s so much fun. Last but not least the website is so great—easy to navigate and very easy to book or change classes.
I feel like i am learning Spanish
I feel like i am learning Spanish, as best as I am able to. and i am enjoying my teachers and lessons. Thank
you very much!
Good program, but teacher side needs work
Overall this is a great program in general in terms of curriculum, though the teaching side could use some work. These are not always trained teachers and it is very clear in classes where the teacher is just there to read off a script and not really be there for the student. Of course, they're also not paid well either, which from a moral side of view eventually put me off using the program altogether. I was also told by a teacher doing my mandatory placement exam that I should be B1 in the curriculum, even though 2 weeks later I passed the C1 DELE exam, so I'm not sure why the teacher was so off point.

I think this site has great potential but it takes a while to figure out how to best use it. I'm still working on it.
I am very pleased with my teacher

Dalybeth was so warm and friendly. She easily put me at ease and I was so comfortable with her. She encouraged me to speak and gently corrected my mistakes. What an amazing class!

BaseLang is exactly what I was looking…
BaseLang is exactly what I was looking for.
I have found the quality of the materials and tutors to be better than better than I was previously paying >$20/h + fees for on Italki (sample size 5 tutors on Italki and 35 on BaseLang).
Before joining BaseLang, I also did a trial on WorldsAcross and have much preferred the structure BaseLang.
BaseLang tutors are friendly and conversation classes are available. But at my beginner level, I like working through the curiculum rather than feeling overfaced that I can't hold a basic conversation.
The tutors ask how I want to spend the lesson but they are the teachers and I am the student so I like that there is a clear structure to follow when I don't know what I want to do. The tutors are well trained and familar with the content so even the 25 mins feels productive.
The availability of tutors is a lot better than WorldAcross, I can have a lesson whenever I want. And the flexibility is better than Italki.
I don't usually bother leaving reviews but think all aspects of the product are spot on. Even the customer service chat has been excellent.
I'd recomend to anyone. Unfortunately, I only have one friend interested in learning Spanish.
My BaseLang Experience
I’ve had an excellent overall experience with BaseLang. The one-on-one, on-demand format is extremely valuable, and I find this far more effective than the years I spent studying other languages in high school and college. The personalized approach makes learning less intimidating, and the consistency of working with individual teachers helps build real relationships that make the process even more engaging.
One recommendation would be for teacher profiles to clearly highlight whether they prefer working with beginners, structured lessons, or more conversational practice. While many already do this, I’ve occasionally matched with teachers who seemed more inclined toward conversation, which can make beginner lessons feel less natural.
Another area for improvement is around scheduling. If teachers need to cancel a class or plan to be unavailable for a period of time, proactively canceling those sessions in advance would be really helpful.
Overall, though, BaseLang has been a fantastic and superior experience for language learning, and I would strongly recommend it.
BaseLang is simply the best
BaseLang is by far the best Spanish learning solution on the planet, at least for my learning style. The flexibility, structured curriculum, talented teachers and affordable pricing can't be beat. Thank you, BaseLang!
I am enjoying the lessons with Lucretia…
I am enjoying the lessons with Lucretia during the week and Jorgina at the weekend. I think (hope) that I am learning well.
Terrible and unprofessional
I would not recommend this so called “academy” to anyone. The curriculum is extremely poor and feels completely unstructured, like they just throw things together at the last minute. The teachers are unprofessional, and most of them can’t even explain things properly in English. Communication is frustrating because of their heavy accents and lack of clarity, and it makes the whole learning process confusing. Instead of helping, they make it harder to understand.
It quickly becomes obvious why this place is so cheap it’s because the quality is just as low. If you’re serious about learning Spanish, save yourself the time and money and look elsewhere.

Hands down the best thing I’ve found for learning Spanish. Has greatly increased my knowledge and understanding of the language in a few weeks. I’ve used every app available to learn and always found myself wanting more. Having someone to talk to and teach me face to face every night has been a game changer. Highly recommend to anyone that really wants to learn.
