Garbage company

Garbage company. Wanted to blame Samsung for my many problems that were clearly CARRIER related. I filed complaint with FCC and it was assigned to Linda Brock from the Presidents Office of AT&T. She handled it very poorly--I am now a Verizon customer. I fired them them once in the 2010's--thought I'd give them another chance...done with them for good.

Lost a long time customer, poor customer service and days without access to the service we paid for.

Had been with at&t since Fiber came into the triangle in NC, so about 7 years. When our internet stopped working, we were given no explanation other than they were "fixing it" and service would be returned by 11pm that night. Looking at the outage map, it was considered low impact and didn't effect a large number of customers. Then the hours kept increasing, yesterday the outage map read 105 hours. 3 days later our fix no longer has a time estimate when we call, and the outage map now reads 105 hours to be fixed for the second day in a row. When we asked about a refund for the days missed, we were told we would be refunded zero dollars for downed service. Essentially we paid them to provide us with no service or customer support whatsoever. Thankfully it caused us to find Google was 30 dollars cheaper a month for the same service, so we canceled. They lost a longtime customer. The fact we couldn't even be given a reason why we didn't have the service we pay them for, and would not be refunded the money we paid for the service they didn't provide is completely ridiculous. Would have given them grace if they were honest about what happened and better communication about our timeline for a fix.

AT&T has to be the absolute WORST company I’ve dealt with. My phone has constantly been on SOS only mode for days and I never had this issue. I call them to understand why my phone has been doing that , they all tell me the same thing … “ rEsEt YoUr NeTwOrK sEtTiNgS “ and i’m telling them numerous times that I’ve tried that. I’m on the verge of switching over elsewhere.

I will never use AT&T again

I will never use AT&T again, for cell phone service or internet service.
I was approached while working in my yard by 2 young men who were soliciting Fiber internet. While doing their sales pitch I was told that a phone came with the service. I informed them at that time that I was happy with my cell service and really did not want to switch because I had been with my company for more than 20 years with no rate increases and it included everything. They again reiterated that the phone was a package deal and I had to have the phone. I wanted Fiber so I agreed to the switch. Once all service was installed I immediately started having problems not only with the Fiber but with the cell service as well. I contacted AT&T numerous times with little to no satisfaction. I had buffering on all of my computers as well as my TV. I was unable to open emails including billing from AT&T. I would have to wait for prolonged periods of time for the service to work. Programs on my computer took so long to function that I was not able to use them. Calls were being dropped, I had no WIFI 90% of the time when I left the house and only at certain locations. I was not even able to Google anything while in my front yard. I would lose GPS while driving to a new appointment. Calls would have static to the point that no one could understand me. I wasn't able to check my emails when away from my house or access a coupon to use at a store. My phone was literally useless when I wasn't at home. When I called to cancel service I was told that the cost of the phone that I had been given would be accelerated and I would have to pay immediately almost $1,000. I was informed by a manager that the phone was NOT a package deal and that the young men had told me an untruth to get more commission on the sale. I filed a case against them. I was supposed to be contacted in 2 days which has now turned into 6 days and no one has contacted me. Their service is far below what I would consider reasonable. To compile the situation I filed a case against the young men for false claims and they sent me the case file with a pswd they assigned. I was told to change the pswd once I opened the case. The pswd did not work. When trying to enter via "Forgot Pswd" it required a verification to be sent to my email and the verification was never sent. When I talked to a representative about this I was told to give it a day. WHAT??? Verifications should be sent immediately. There is no excuse for this type of service or should I say lack thereof. If the verification is never sent I have to refile the case. I am done with them.

By far the worst cell phone service I've ever used

AT&T is by far the worst cell phone service I have ever used. I've used both Verizon and T-Mobile, and have been a loyal customer to T-Mobile specifically for almost ten years now. I was recently forced to switch to AT&T because I had to move to a rural area (I used to live in Scranton, a metropolitan area), and neither T-Mobile or Verizon reached there.

Bought a brand new phone from a physical AT&T store, and attempted to activate it over the Internet. Internet activation portal wasn't functioning. So I called them instead, and was on the phone for about 2 hours, and then I got suddenly transferred to another person who probably had his headset turned off because the only thing I heard him say was "Sir, I think you are muted.", even though my mute button was off. Called a third time, and the lady was super nice and was able to activate the phone. Total time on the phone with them: 3.5hrs.

The value of the plan I chose was terrible too compared to my T-Mobile plan. My AT&T plan costs 5 dollars more than my T-Mobile plan, and features 5GB less the high speed data (10GB compared to 15GB), no hotspot, no international calling, and no international data roaming. My T-Mobile plan had all of this. Coverage is insanely terrible too. Numerous dead spots and barely any 5G "Plus" coverage, only normal 5G, which is just barely a speed increase from LTE. And as of the writing of this review, it's gotten even worse! Like come on, right outside of Walmart, in one of the major cities in my area, and no bars at all!

Network speed is also painfully slow. 4G is usually maxed out in terms of download speeds for me at 10Mb/s, with 5G increasing that speed by 0.5-1.0Mb/s, and 5G "Plus" increasing that speed by 2.0-2.5Mb/s. Compared to T-Mobile, that's abysmal. T-Mobile's "Ultra Capacity" 5G was absolutely insane, reaching speeds faster than my 100Mb/s home Internet. AT&T's speeds are completely LAME!

If you are thinking of switching carriers anytime soon, steer clear of AT&T. Poor customer service, lackluster performance, and random limitations that shouldn't exist plague this carrier, and I wish I never moved to a rural area because of it.

Poor customer service

Had the new fiber cable installed. AT&T overcharges the first 2-3 billing cycles u til incentives kick in. This was never mentioned in pre install conversations. Customer service over the phone concerning the billing was useless. In store directed us to use the phone customer service. We disconnected within 1 week.

I went on a cruise a family of four I did what I could from my phone. I put it on airplane mode, and I was only utilizing the Wi-Fi for the cruise, which it only allows me to use the app so I can stay communicated with my kids and My Wife all of a sudden I’m receiving notifications from my ring camera at home or other notifications on apps which I thought it was weird when I click on one of those I wasn’t able to open them or do anything about it because I had no service. I was gone for eight days when I returned home I got a notification on my bill. Last month was $400 out of $230 that I pay a month and this month they’re charging me $500. They are a bunch of thieves. I try to do anything I could while I was at the cruise to turn off everything possible so I don’t get charged for any service that I didn’t use because I didn’t have it but they don’t care. They said it looks like you were using it and like I said, I tried to open a few notifications and I was unable to do anything because it said that I had no service no cell phone service or no data. Whatever it was I couldn’t do absolutely anything so I stopped trying to open any notifications and they just didn’t care overall within two months. I’m gonna pay almost $1000 for two months, which is insane once I’m done with my contract with them or as soon as I can, I will leave this because they are terrible.

Do better

This company is a joke, I have used their WiFi for 4 years. My price increase $20/mo over the years, they finally dropped back down $20/mo after confronting them. Now after 2 months it has increased by $10/mo. Along with this, they have had outages 8 times in the last 2 months. I work from home some days and am in graduate school. This inhibits my workflow. They think crediting my account $1-3/each outage is an appropriate response, but it’s a sick joke. This company is lacking accountability and maintenance of their equipment. I would never recommend and am looking into alternatives after my most recent issue. My box is not working, they are claiming there might be an outage (but cannot confirm and is not reflected on their website). Now the soonest appointment they have to come check my box is 8 days from today. While their staff is kind and helpful, you can tell that this company is not serious about their customers. Do better.

AT&T Internet air sucks

AT&T Internet air sucks! The speed tests okay for 1 minute, but if you are streaming, trying to watch a video, listen to music or send an email you will be totally disappointed. The stream stops, buffers for many minutes for a few seconds of music or video. My cellular signal is only 1 bar here and WIFI calling is a total joke, on me. Do not try to connect more than one device or they will report no service available. This is an honest review from a 2 year subscriber with an average of $47/ month bills. They just reduced my bill but it isn't even worth the 50% rate. Just choose another provider, I wish starlink wasn't so expensive.
Customer service said I am in a poor service area (near Santa Barbara) and the tower closest to me is down. LOL same stupid excuse I got from Verizon and T-Mobile. Well, at least nobody actually fixes the towers, or even works on them because I went to their locations and took photos that shows nobody has been their for years, except spiders and rodents.

Loyal customer of 16 years, hit with bogus $212 bill—no help from support

I've been an AT&T customer for 16 years, never missed a single payment. My monthly bill was consistently around $65. This month, I was shocked to see a $212 bill.

When I called to ask why, they claimed it was for international calls. The problem? I use a third-party calling card for all my international calls—and have for years. AT&T's response was that calls "sometimes route through AT&T" anyway, and they refused to adjust the charge.

No warning. No courtesy. No loyalty consideration after 16 years.

I've since ported my number to another legitimate carrier . If you're a long-time customer, don't expect AT&T to have your back. Double-check every bill—and if you use a calling card, beware of hidden routing charges they won't explain or correct!

Horrible

Horrible, worst experience I have had in my life with customer service. Long wait times, AI that doesn't work or help. They just try and hang up on you so you get screwed over. It's really sad because they have the best product, so that's why they treat their customers that way, because they know they can get away with it......

They ripped me off

They ripped me off. I went to Jordan and keep sending me that I can use their international service but I didn't use and I didn't give them the permission to give me the service but they still charged me 1000 dollars for the service that I never used because I didn't put the phone on airplane mode. When I came back you can't get hold of anyone only answer machine. They just steal our money then they cut the internet from the phone but you still receiving calls. I hate at&t. I advised you never use their service because if you sign that contract you'll stuck with them. I changed from us seller to get better and cheaper service but they tricked us and charge us more. When you try to talk with them you'll never get hold of them. Stay away from at&t

It’s unbelievable

It’s unbelievable—you pay for such an expensive home internet service (it is certainly not cheap), yet I’ve had an internet cable hanging in front of my house for days. First, they don't have a technician available to resolve what I consider an emergency situation, as the cable is blocking cars from entering my driveway. Second, they suggested we try to lift the cable ourselves while waiting for a technician. Third, I was told a service ticket was opened weeks ago, yet I’m still waiting for someone to come and fix it—no one shows up, and the cable is now obstructing vehicle access to my home, which I find quite dangerous ⚠️. On top of that, my home internet connection is unstable... I don't understand why I have to go through all this for a service I pay for.

Had to fix my internet myself

I was an AT&T employee for 35 years so I hate to write this bad review. An AT&T tech came out this morning to do work on the neighbor's internet service. I saw him arrive and drive away about 1/2 hour later. After he left, my internet was down. I called repair and got a call center in Asia, they said they could send a repairman out in 3 days. Told him the story about how the guy just disconnected my service in error and he did not care; I talked to the supervisor Mark, who would not give me his last name, he improved it to 2 days but that was still not acceptable. After fighting with him for a 1/2 hour, he hung up on me. He would not connect me with someone in the states who I knew would help; I hate foreign call centers. I went out myself and opened the AT&T box in front of my house, I noticed a plug that was not plugged in; I plugged it back in and my service went back up. I fixed it in 2 minutes and they would not send a guy out for 2 days. I told them that their guy disconnected it by accident and it would be easy to fix, but he would not listen. I hope they are saving a lot of money on those overseas call centers as they stink.

HORRENDOUS SHAME ON YOU AT&T

Purchased a hotspot for my job on May 26. Turned out it wouldn’t work for our applications so I returned it June 3. Well within the allowed time frame per AT&Ts policy. Since then I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to resolve the bill they say I owe. One representative after another telling me not to worry, it just needs a billing cycle to correct itself, I am correct there should be no bill. Well now it’s August and I am getting notices that it will be going to collections. Called the number on the most recent notice only to be told they can’t help and I need to contact customer service. Now I am sitting in a corporate AT&T store where there are only 2 people working and 6 people ahead of me waiting to be helped. AT&T has outsourced every bit of customer service they can and it shows. This is a failing business. Going on 20 hours of my time being wasted and given the run around. About to send them a bill for all these hours of my precious time. Scammers.

I signed up for fiber less than a week…

I signed up for fiber less than a week ago. When the company came to bury the fiber line they must’ve broken the cable because my Internet quit working from that point forward. I was unable to reach anybody locally and the call center had no power to call back the technician or assist me at all beyond scheduling me for a new appointment three days later. I was sent a marketing survey shortly after when I expected to air my grievances there the only questions I were provided with was why I did not sign up for AT&T wireless service at the same time. The company seems to have lost sight of the big picture and actually providing quality service opposed to just trying to make the most money possible. I will give them a shot for the next few months, but I’m already leaning towards switching to another provider.
