Useless

They took £1600 off me in Feb 2017 for two suits. Got the first one in April 2018 and am still waiting for the second in November 2018

I bought a £949 - two suits voucher last xmas. I received the first suit interestingly in june time after the initial liquidation event - so they were still trading at that stage. The second suit has never materialised - they don't respond to phone or email yet are still sending out emails advertising offers to take new sales. DO NOT USE

Unable to give ASTF zero stars

Unable to give ASTF zero stars. I ordered 5 shirts over 15 weeks ago and am yet to receive them. First I was told there had been a strike by their tailors in Nepal, next i was told there was a problem with shipping. Now they have stopped any form of communications.

I spoke to another London based tailor and they said “oh, you went to A Suit That goes bust”. Says it all. Don’t expect to get anything apart from your money stolen :(

Avoid this company.

For some reasons, I have mixed feelings about a Suit That Fits (ASTF), but at the end of the day, have to give them 1 star as the suit that I paid for has never been delivered and there have been a number of other faults with their service.

I had a lovely appointment with a member of their team at the end of last year for a first measurement, suit design and (stupidly, in retrospect) payment for their promised services.

Over the last year, I managed to make three further appointments to have the suit fitted, although only one of these was ever completed, as the other two were cancelled less than 24hours in advance - one with no explanation and one with a text message apology. As there are no appointments available in the city in which I live (Sheffield), and I had to organise train tickets to get me across to the fitting location, this was unhelpful, to say the least.

At this point, it was getting close to the event that I had ordered the suit for, and whilst I tried to book into a further appointment to get a fitting or collection, there suddenly were no appointments bookable that were closer than 130miles from where I live - the nearest options being Bristol or London.

Sensing futility, I emailed their help service asking them to deliver the suit directly to me, and if anything desperately needed changing, I could do that myself, or find someone in Sheffield to do so. Within 24hours, I had received a response that my suit would be shipped to me to arrive in 2days time. This has been the last I heard from ASTF.

No suit ever arrived with myself (it has now been almost one month later), and any request for more information has been met with complete radio silence. There is no response to their phone lines when you attempt to contact them and any requests for comment or information from their online service has received no response, despite multiple attempts and multiple automated responses from their service (the type that states "we have received your email and will respond within 48hours).

Overall, when I have actually managed to see someone face to face, they have always been very helpful and bent over backwards to accommodate me and my requests, which has been wonderful.
However, in almost one year, I have only been able to see people on 2 occasions, have had multiple appointments cancelled last minute, have been unable to book an appointment close to me, have paid for a suit that never arrived and have got almost zero help from their customer services to try to find out any information about what is happening.

Overall, 1 star feels slightly generous, really. Avoid this company.

Hate to say this as used to love ASTF, but do not buy from them under any circumstances or use this business! Terrible customer service now and I was a long-standing customer, which is such a shame. I am now fighting to get my money back with a visa disputed after they filed for bankruptcy. Google 'A Suit That Fits liquidation'.

Do not use!

Badly fitting suits and terrible customer service

After having brought several suits from “travelling tailors” over the past couple of decades, I thought I would give A Suit That Fits a go.

Based on an offer they were advertising I purchased credits, only to find out buried in the small print these credjts could not be used with any offers. I asked if it was possible to cancel the order and was told it was not - even though it was for a simple credit on my account. The effect of this then increased the cost of the order by a further £500.

The gentleman that measured me was pleasant and fully explained the options and ordering process. I have muscular legs and was at pains to explain the issue I have with the fit of most trousers and the fact a reinforced seat prevents my trousers from ripping.

Unfortunately this was ignored and the trousers arrived (four weeks later than promised) unlined and impossibly tight to fit in.

I have found it impossible to then schedule the adjustments, with emails saying I could not be seen the their premises 25 miles away and instead have to travel over 100 miles.

When trying to organise this visit emails are not being answered and the phone permanently going to voicemail, which is not being returned, despite being held in a queue.

I have effectively paid £1,600 for two jackets, neither of which even have working cuff buttons - a staple of made-to-measure suits and being offered by many of the off-the-peg brands now.

Showing signs of improvement

28th November Update: Completely out of the blue I got an email and text message informating me that my order was ready for collection (over 4 months after the order date). I booked in at a studio, and the shrts were indeed ready for collection. I asked what the hold up was, and there were various reasons given (customs holding up orders, replacing suppliers, losing back office to deal with emails/complaints etc). Anyway, I'm upgrading my review to 3 stars which I think is fair given the complete lack of any communication and severe delays. Hopefully things are now back on track and I can once again rely on ASTF. Time will tell.

15th October Review: Sadly it looks like this company has gone/is going down the pan. I have previously ordered a suit and several made to measure shirts from ASTF, all of which were good quality and arrived in line with estimates. All in all I was very happy with the service.

However, I placed an order for 5 more shirts on 10th July 2018 and have heard nothing since. Calls and emails have not been returned. Last week I did get an automated response from a new support ticket system they are using (presumably to deal with the volume of complaints), but have had nothing since then.

Potential financial loss aside, this is a shame to see, especially those who have had wedding items delayed. As I say, I have previously had a good service from ASTF. A quick Google search will show the company's insolvency problems back in April 2018, so it just goes to show the importance of doing a quick background check even if you have used a company before.

I paid for my order with PayPal and have just raised a dispute for a refund.

Company is insolvent and in breach of contract - do not use

Rather depressingly I've also fallen victim to the same frustrations posted by numerous other reviews on this page.

Paid in full upfront back in April and am still yet to receive my suit. I suspect the positive reviews in recent months are questionable, given the company has clearly been teetering on insolvency for a number of months. Countless stories re. Nepalese strikes, customs issues, in generic e-mail updates, but have never actually received a personal update owing to their entirely unresponsive customer service, to which calls go unanswered.

An incredibly frustrating experience, and now find myself claiming a refund via my credit card provider as per Section 75 provisions.

Joke company - AVOID - unresponsive to calls and emails

Bought a voucher for a discounted suit in April, and having received it 8-10 weeks later, I was initially quite pleased with the fit and the fact that 2 alterations were made before finally taking it away.

However, within 3 wears the inside leg of the trousers was bobbling, indicating poor quality fabric. I took this pair back to the West End studio, who confirmed that there was a manufacturing defect. In the meantime, I wore the spare trousers I had purchased twice, and the same defect was apparent.

I have received a notification that the first pair of trousers are ready to collect, but cannot reach ASTF by phone or email. My next step will be to just turn up at their studio and see if I can get a straight answer from someone. I have also commenced s75 proceedings with my credit card issuer to reimburse the money which I spent. Avoid.

Terrible don't shop there

Terrible don't shop there. I bought a suit for my graduation, I picked it up a few days before the event. After a close look at the suit, I found that it was in awful condition, The stitching was coming undone, fabric flaws and the measurements were way off. So I was unable to wear it for the event.

They said that they would correct this by making a new suit, weeks go by without any contact from the company. Turns out they're not even started production of the suit blaming it on strikes in Nepal.

At this point, I ask for a refound and the company didn't even bother to respond. In order to get my money back, I needed to go to my bank to get it back.

Don't buy from them its a SCAM!!!

Do NOT use this company!!

Do NOT use this company!!! They are ruining our wedding experience. It’s one of the most expensive items we have bought for our wedding. Do NOT trust the staff, they will tell you 2 weeks and it still won’t be ready! Ignore every positive comment - you won’t be happy with your experience the second they take your money. Michael has been patronising and disrespectful. Sam has given all sales man a bad name.
It’s been 5 months since we put our order and they said they would expedite the order.
AVOID!!!

Update:

Still waiting for my first fitting!

I have used ASTF in the past and it was reasonable value for money. This time was and still is horrific!!

I ordered 1 suit, a jacket and a pair of trousers cut to a specific pattern. After 2 attempts with the trousers they got nowhere near and gave me my money back no harm done. The suit was ok. After 3 months I'm still waiting for the jacket and/or any form of communication. I ordered the speeded up delivery which cost more. I have had no fitting after 3 months. When I call up no one seems to know what is going on. On the last occasion the phone was not answered. If this is for a special occasion avoid it!

AVOID LIKE THE SARTORIAL PLAGUE

I purchased a suit and morning coat for my wedding from these "people" (The real words I would like to use there would not pass the profanity check I imagine), and gave them every penny I could afford to look my best on my wedding day (in 12 days) and they kept saying it will arrive, it will be fine, and now I see the below reviews and realise these thieves have taken me for a base fool, and I will now be getting married in a rented suit.
DO NOT TRUST THESE CHARLATANS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Customer service is non-existent, and from day 1 they knew about my wedding day (it is even written on the order form!) yet they have made no effort to ensure it arrived on time. "6-8 weeks" is a lie, and they will keep changing the goal posts and trying to keep you on the hook.
I just hope this review stops at least one person from going through the deep upset that it has caused me.

I gave this company the benefit of doubt. I have spent £1948 , ordering 10 shirts, 2 Jackets and 2 trousers.
As previous posters have mentioned, no replies from emails, phone calls etc. I have contacted my credit card provider for a section 75 refund.
Load of nonsense re Nepal strikes etc. The company has no liquidity and will go bust soon ( Tailored Franchises ltd).
Emailed the director and got an out office reply. It’s the same with customer services email. You call the number and ... ring ring ... We are very busy at the moment etc.

AVOID!!!

Update. 4/10/18

Good suits... Terrible EVERYTHING else

I've ordered and paid for 2 suits. 1 was delivered and I tried it on with a few alterations needed. The other was apparently held up due to issues in Nepal. And now can't be supplied. They say I have to go back to pick a new one.

However, to compound the misery, their customer service is awful. They don't give straight answers to questions and are entirely unhelpful.

To make matters even worse, they don't respond to emails and I can't get in touch with them on the 'phone. There's no one answering any calls. Have they completely gone bust with my money and both suits?

Great suits - but troubled

My best friend who I trust ordered his wedding suits through a suit that fits. Recommended only using Nick Lashbrook (which I also recommend if you are having troubles as Nick will do his best to help you and is a self-confessed trouble shooter). Suit turned up quickly and was an incredible fit so I ordered three more with two trousers each and paid up front.

So the positives. The suits are really tailored to fit you. Generally arrive a little out, but really they do completely make to measure and there are generally a few fittings in their office required to get it right.

I lost four stone during the process. And the large amount of refittings was absorbed and not charged extra. They even altered the two suits I had and didn't charge me.

The negatives. The system is clearly antiquated. Nick can use it, but admits that most of the new sales people have trouble. It is not surprising as even he has troubles tracking down the status of the orders.

The process is time consuming. They won't release all suits at once claiming they need to confirm the measurement and the process has taken in excess of two years as a result.

The Nepal stories and liquidation are true. In Nick's words they are downsizing in order to grow even bigger, but this is seeming hollow. They have new materials and a new factory they are working out of which means that my last suit ordered now is not ordered. And my final four shirts are in question. My waistcoat has been cut, but not delivered. And so it goes on.

They have my money, so I am fairly committed to getting the last suit. And - when they arrive the suits are... well very good. But I would probably wait a while before using them - and don't pay everything up front. Use a credit card to protect yourself. And make sure you use Nick. You can only book appointments in his diary from the 1st of any month for that month, so book early with him. He'll also help people who are struggling with the system.
