Upon looking into your details further, I can see that we received a claim on the 28/07/2026 for the Lipoma that was accepted but fell below your excess.
If you claim for a condition and the treatment amount falls under your excess amount, this doesn’t mean the claim has been declined, it just means it has not met the excess threshold.

Awful - any excuse to decline payment
Found every excuse to prevent payment of a claim. Impossible to discuss or challenge as they consider any change in health to be a pre existing condition. Save your money and dont bother with animal friends. They want your premiums to line their pockets not to help cover the care of well loved pets.

Animal Friends were a hero for my dog 🫶
I recently discovered that my 5 year old cockapoo boy called Bailey had suffered a slipped disc. This all happened very quickly. He slowed to a practical stop the first day and the next day he lost all use of his bag legs, he was in so much pain. I'd been with Animal friends for about a month at this point. My vet said he needed to be sent to a neurological specialist and recommended ChesterGates in Chester. I managed to get Bailey admitted the same day. The vet there was absolutely incredible. Bailey was MRI scanned and operated on the same day to remove the herniated disc from his spine. Two days later Bailey could once again just about support his back legs and over the next 4 weeks he made an astonishing recovery. I would have paid anything, sold a kidney even to fix my dog. The total bill came to over £8,300 and I had £6,000 cover with Animal Friends. They didn't argue about my claim at all and about two weeks later I received a call from them to let me know they had approved my claim in the full amount. I felt so relieved and enormously grateful to them for supporting Bailey. You never know whats going to happen with pet insurance but I can honestly say that Animal Friends did Bailey and me very proud! Thank you so much Animal Friends, I'll be a customer with you going forward because the least I can do is give something back 🫶

Recent claim for treatment for my cat Benji. Didn’t have to fill in any claim forms as all handled by my Vet directly with Animal Friends. Simplest claim ever and settled within days. Very impressed with the service and non quibble approach. Highly recommended insurer to deal with.
