Excellent experience

Excellent experience!

They were much cheaper than similar sites. They packaged the items very well, all items came exactly as expected. Communication was fantastic. Everything came well on time with no unexpected issues.

Very pleased with their service and products

In my opinion Amiami is the best shop for bishoujo figures. I ordered a couple of figures over the last months and I
think they are doing a great job. Every order was safely packed and arrived in perfect condition. I also ordered a pre-owned
figure marked as "B" - minor dirt or damage visible, but it looks just new. I even cancelled an order and they were very helpful and friendly. So there's absolutely nothing to complain about. Amiami is a good shop with awesome exclusive bonus items and a good service.

Would recommend

I've never had any issues with Amiami. Ordered from there quite many times, either pre-order or just normal order. It's easy to compine orders if needed and they come together as I requested. I'm very pleased and I usually recieve my order in 2 or 3 weeks when shipped. I have also contacted them few times and they answer pretty fast.

Ordered from amiami once or twice

Ordered from amiami once or twice. Nothing to complain but I'm suspicious whether their anime figures, particularly their one piece figuarts figures, are real or bootleg. Anyone know if amiami sells bootlegs?

Won't take responsability if they fvck up

Amiami won't take any responsability if they fvck up.

I pre-ordered some products. Almost 2 months later I sent my payment and they sent my product.
A new tax was implemented in my country so you now have tu pay 16% extra to the post office to get your item if what you receive is 50USD$ or more.
That was my case, so instead of notifying me that the product arrived (as they always used to) they were expecting you magically would know the product entered the country and pay to received.
Didn't know, product was send back to AmiAmi and then a lot of months later they contacted me about sending a payment again to reship the products to me. I sent a message with questions about: if they could extend the due date for my payment, the amount I'd be receiving if I wasn't able to send my payment and if I could receive my refund to a different PayPal account since the one I made the payment with isn't on my name and have no more access to it. (Worth to mention, in my country it's also impossible to have a balance on PayPal you could use some other way because of some new law implemented at the end of November. So you have to transfer the money to a bank account under the account holder's name to get it).

They were kind enough to extend my due date one more week and explained to me it was possible to send the refund to a different account, they just needed me to send the e-mail and acc holder's name.

Ok, no job at that time. No money. Wouldn't be able to make the payment after all.
Notified them I wasn't able to make the payment and apologized. Send my info of the current account I'm using so they could refund me and don't have any problem.

Received e-mail stating I didn't make my payment and that'd receive a refund. I did check on my PP, nothing. Never got a reply from them so I became worried. Send another e-mail asking if they received my e-mail with the information and asked how long'd it take to receive the refund. Attached a screenshot so they’d notice I did send the E-mail with spare time.

They reply the refund was send to the account that originally made the payment and that they didn't see the info they asked for on time. I reply back my circumstances about PayPal acc. They reply back to me and said they are sorry but the refund was already processed and couldn't do anything about it.

So, no matter if you let them know beforehand all they need to know because they'll do whatever they want in the end.

Now, I don't have my money back nor the products.
Eff this crap, man.

Not bad website to use

Used AmiAmi for 2 years. Not a bad company to purchase figures and other products from.

Pro:
-Cheap Figures compare to other websites
-Packaging is decent
-Easy to navigate

Con:
-Canceling an item will give you a warning
-Not paying for figure will give you a warning
-Multiple warning will get you banned from the site
-Site needs to be updated.

Conclusion:
As long as you don't have any money issue when they ask for payment for the item you pre-ordered a while back then this is the website for you. As long as you pay and don't cancel any orders. You are not going to be banned. Not sure how many strikes you need to get banned but as of now I got 2 with my AmiAmi account.

AmiAmi is a bunch of scammers and criminals

I've been a loyal customer of AmiAmi.com since 2014. I've never had an issue with their packages until recently when a big order of Nendoroids went missing. I work from home and never received my package despite USPS stating that it was marked as delivered to my address. I thought, okay that's weird but surely AmiAmi can work with me to get my items reshipped or refunded. I contacted them a day after it was marked as delivered and they told me it could take WEEKS or MONTHS to investigate the issue with Japan Post. I was a little peeved at that, especially when they stated it can take months to investigate. But I figured whatever, I'm sure they'll help me with a refund once the investigation results show that I didn't receive a package.

One month later, they contact me to let me know that they issued a partial refund of 6000 yen + shipping costs. Huh??? I email them back and tell them they still owe me the rest of the amount I spent on the items (I don't remember the exact amount, but it was over 5000 yen). They told me that the partial compensation is the same amount that Japan Post gave them, so they're unable to give me a full refund for what I spent. This is downright criminal, even though I never received my items AmiAmi refuses to refund me for the full amount of my items and they still profited off of my purchase!

I told them I'm going to file a claim with PayPal and they had the GALL to tell me that filing a PayPal claim will result in my AmiAmi account being closed. I'm not sure why AmiAmi thinks that I would care about my account being closed when I told them repeatedly I'm never going to shop there again, but the fact that they're threatening to close my AmiAmi account over me filing a PayPal claim shows me that they're a dishonest company who doesn't care at all for their customers. They're always threatening to close people's accounts over filing PayPal claims or cancelling pre-orders; this is SO not typical of online stores to do and is very representative of their terrible customer service and business practices.

There's plenty of other anime shops and websites to shop from other than AmiAmi and their ridiculous policies, please don't give these scammers any more of your money and time.

Never had a problem with them so far!.

I have bought 5 times from them so far and never had a problem. All my orders arrived on time and in great condition!. Even though they were all second-hand they looked as good as new!. Even the b condition ones!.

The only negative thing that I have to say is about the shipping. It can be quite expensive depending on what kind of figure you buy, especially if you have to pay taxes on top of it too. But in all and all, I'd say that it's worth it.

They are not understanding of international buyers

They are not prepared for an international audience.

Ami Ami have a great selection of goods. Though, I believe their business model is not suited to a global market. Their inventory system is out-dated, so should you pre-order an item fairly early and cancel much later- they will brand you as a “bad customer” which results in them shutting your account down completely, losing any kind of loyalty points you may have accumulated, and any other orders you have made will be in limbo.

The service you will receive is extremely rigid and unhelpful.

If you are a customer who will not cancel orders , or pre-order items- you might be fine? If your items are lost in transit with no tracking, be prepared for the worst customer service- they will most certainly call you a “dishonest” customer.

Return policy is unreasonable and non-transparent.

Package arrived busted and damaged. They shifted all initial responsibility to the buyer and post office. Asked to file a claim with USPS. (Should file through EMS) Refused to file a claim, as it is the Seller's responsibility to report failure of shipping services based on their agreed contract with the postal service. They are suppose to open a claim through EMS Japan, have me hold the item till the claim moves forward to inspections, where I can then take the item to my nearest EMS location, where a report for package damage is provided. The postal service either reports the item as properly packaged for shipment, which gives them an approval or the item was not properly packaged, resulting in a denial. Instead, they have the buyer take the item to EMS, request to have it inspected (Cannot be done without a claim), report back to them, so they can open another claim/report through Japan Post in their Country, instead of going through EMS directly. (Which was the carrier) then proceed with a return/refund once they confirm through the buyer that they are approved. Makes no sense and comes off as greed.. I previously had a positive experience when purchasing a doll however, my second purchase with them (which I expected to end on a positive note) was not fulfilled. Instead I experienced poor customer service in offering little, to no resolution. Leading me to a dead end in requesting unreasonable service.

From a personal business stand point, the customer should never be left to provide their own customer service.
I will no longer purchase in the future with AmiAmi.

Amiami should chance their corporate…

Amiami should chance their corporate values And invest more into customer service, they won't take any action at all if something goes wrong Even if it's their fault, they will come up with some very lazy explanation such as a figure being torn to pieces still classifies as b condition And some other crap... My advice is just buy one item per order, buy just b+ preowned items And don't be afraid of bans, if you can't pay an order, don't do it, they don't deserve your loyalty, they are not serious nor responsible so, why should you?

Reliable Japan shop but YMMV

I've been a customer at AmiAmi for many years now, I feel their service is above average. However, based on some of my friends' personal experiences, I may have been treated better because of the volume of money I've spent there. I buy many Chogokin and high end items from AmiAmi, and the items have almost always arrived without issue. The one time I had a problem with a very expensive Fewture EX Gokin used product, AmiAmi even paid for return shipping and refunded me for the product. Again, this was the only time I've had a problem with an item out of hundreds that I've purchased from them. I've cancelled pre-orders a few times as well but not frequent, maybe 1 in 20 orders, and they've always done so with the usual "as a courtesy" email. I've noticed their shipping cost is slightly higher than some other Japan shops (not all), but I realize they use oversized company logo boxes with lots of paper padding, so the extra size increases the shipping fee. If you are a new customer, do not cancel your orders too often. AmiAmi operates like an exclusive club, once you're in, they're more flexible, but until you earn their trust as a customer, cancelling too often just means they would rather not deal with you.

Fine - Until SOMETHING GOES WRONG...

Like most of these Japanese sellers, everything is roses and cherry blossoms, until something goes wrong - then you're screwed. They take zero responsibility for things damaged during shipment, even when it's clearly their fault.

A shipment arrived with the shipping box is pristine condition - not a scratch, not a dent. The figures inside, however, had been so loosely packed, with no padding between them, that they banged around against each other to the point that one was torn open on the side. Would you expect AmiAmi to own up to their bad packing job - of course not. They hid behind their policies, blaming the shipping company and refusing to deal with the issue. That's what you get when something goes wrong with the sellers - just a link to their policies, no integrity, no honor, no conscience.

You show me a positive review for AmiAmi, and I'll show you a guy who's either in their pocket, or is just lucky that nothing's gone wrong.

accidentally placed an order for a size…

accidentally placed an order for a size M of something instead of a size XL. The size M was a mistake, as I forgot to account for JP sizing, and so this item WOULD NOT fit me, and they didn't have what my size would be, which is an L. As such, I obviously didn't want to go through with purchasing a medium, and contacted them about changing the size to XL.

Simple enough mistake, I thought.

They refused to change the order, and gave me attitude about cancelling it, claiming they "could not" do either of these things. (Note, I hadn't even paid yet.)

They sent me two replies, because I sent in the question twice (worried about stock levels and didn't know if they received my first one; I sent it as a reply to my order confirmation, so I sent the other using their official question forms). The first reply was cordial enough -- they told me they generally don't do cancellations, but can perform them as a "courtesy." Okay. Weird and backwards, but okay. But then they replied to the other email I sent, much more aggressively, saying that they "do not do cancellations" and to "be more careful in the future." Which, uh. Actively contradicts their other email.

I admitted the fault was mine, and I was being quite apologetic about it. And I still wanted to give them money. I don't understand; I'm just a dumb customer who made a mistake -- I'm sure it happens all the time. But since it took a while to process (they still haven't replied to my cancellation request -- it's been something like three days, which is NOT a lot, but when considering the low low stock levels...), the size XL item has sold out while I'm waiting on a "courtesy" cancellation.

There's something fishy about all this. Wouldn't rec them for clothes or anything with multiple options, since if you mess up, you might not get any support.

The initial fault was mine, and I'm not here to be unfair. I just think this is all handled extremely poorly and with far too much fanfare for something that should be very, very simple, and easy to fix. Also, contradicting your own policies in your own communications is really, really not good. :p

Best of the Bunch, Don't Listen to Ignorant Comments

I've had got no problem with Amiami for more than 20 orders so far and they've helped me if something was wrong with the item. Well packaged items and reasonable prices compared to most shops.

Most people here are complaining about their own mistakes about not knowing how to write their address properly and taxes, which is especially stupid, you are crying because they don't help you break the law? Custom duties and fees sucks, I know, but you can't rate them low because they aren't breaking the law for you.

5/5, I'd definitely recommend Amiami.

Absolutely horrendous customer support

I placed couple of orders at AmiAmi, but wrong address was written down for shipping address.

They sent me an email saying package was returned back to them and wanted me to pay shipping fee again to get it re-shipped. I sent them emails requesting for address correction and sent them shipping fee again, but they sent out my order using un-corrected address again.

I contacted their customer support asking what happened and they told me that my emails have not been checked yet, and they just re-ship out orders if payment is received. I asked them if they can request address correction to courier, but they said since unregistered shipping method was chosen they cannot do anything for me.

I asked for ANY information (time of package drop off/pick up, bill of lading number, etc.) regarding the shipment, but all they were saying is that since it is unregistered they do not have ANY of those data and therefore cannot provide anything for me.

They are also claiming that package was dropped off/picked up in the morning, and package cannot be retrieved or they can request any modifications to shipment.

They are basically saying I would have to wait for the package to get returned back to them yet again, re-pay for shipping fees once more (this would be 3rd shipping fee), and wait for them to re-ship out my order again.

During the chat support customer representative went on for very long pauses and even left without saying anything.

I did not mind paying for shipping fee second time and wait for re-shipping since wrong address was entered first time, but the way they are handling this mix up is atrocious.

Really great!

I love this store. It has a very good pre-owned figure section and they give you points back for every purchase you can use towards your next order.

The only thing I dislike is the shipping rates. I prefer paying a flat rate every time but they calculate theirs by weight and volume. It makes it difficult to predict how much your order will ACTUALLY cost.

Better than Tokyo Otaku Mode

I've been looking for an alternative, and this site has been the best for me so far, very clean packaging & fast delivery

combining your orders are one of the best thing this site has
plus their prices are pretty reasonable & much much better than other sites i've seen, i've been always using Tom and i kinda regret it that i didn't stiuck with amiami, i also like the fact that you do not have to pay until release especially if you are tight in money, on top of that you get points on each of your purchases, no more premium crap that's know from TOM

support is also very nice & helpful, would order more & more here from now on

Kudos to you guys, i appreciate you for creating this wonderful site <3

Banning for cancellations is just bad business

The strict rules aren't worth it. I've had too many moments where I've gone broke due to losing a job or something and cancellations being a ban-able offense is dumb. Especially when said retailer carries exclusive items that you can't find anywhere else.
