Have had a pet insurance policy with them for 2 years. My renewal came through with an increase from £247.08 per year to £447.36 so a £200.28 increase. I have had one claim for a gastrointestinal bug of £165 so the annual increase is more than my one claim. This is a two year old dog with no underlying health issues, just a one off claim for a bug. I spoke to someone on live chat who told me to double my excess or half my cover from 10k for the year to 5k for the year to bring my premium down. If I register as a new customer I can get this for £15 per month instead of the £37 per month renewal. It makes no sense. They'd rather get new customers than retain existing customers. I spoke to someone else on live chat who was even less helpful than the first person and blamed his age for the premium increasing even though he is still a very young healthy dog and certainly not a senior dog. I finally spoke to someone on the phone who could offer me a 10% discount as I have my home insurance with them, nobody before offered this just to cancel my policy or half my policy coverage. Regardless, this still brought the monthly payments to £33 more than double the £15 new customers can get the exact same policy for. I have cancelled my pet insurance and will renew elsewhere and will also be cancelling my home insurance. Don't be enticed by their low new customer offers of insurance as they will hike these for no good reason. My last dog had underlying health conditions and had regular claims for medication, hospital and alternative therapies and his insurance never increased by this amount but apparently with Admiral a one off stomach bug justifies your policy increasing by almost 50%. Abysmal service, poor explanations hiding behind insurance terms and "commercial information" and a complete unwillingness to do anything to retain a long term customer. Would never recommend to anyone to use their pet insurance, absolute farce. Can't even view your documents online as they don't have a portal for this in 2026.

Stay clear from this company!!!
I cancelled my policy by actively not paying the renewal fee expecting that it would cancel. 3 months later I get an email from debt collectors stating that I'm in arrears with Admiral. They had continued my policy on by 1 month, cancelled it then due to non payment and adding on a admission fee. They never sent me any information that my policy would continue even due to non payment, then send it to the debt collectors. When trying to understand what I owed them, their chat team kept forwarding on the message saying the policy would auto-renew and that I was informed. I'm so upset by this, I had been a admiral customer for 7 years, and had actually moved my policy to a landlord. Needless to say, I will never use this company again with the way this went down and how I was treated online.

I purchased travel Insurance with Admiral on the morning of my holiday. This was the day that the Iran conflict started. We then suffered the affects of the middle east airspace closure and lost £1000s and suffered travel chaos. After multiple phone calls and being told I had a valid claim and submitting the evidence required. Admiral scoured the internet looking for a way out of paying the claim. I have been accused of fraud because I technically purchased the policy after the crisis started. I had no knowledge of any attacks in the middle east and feel the claims made by Admiral are purely to not pay the claim. I purchased travel insurance approximately 8am in the morning because I was going on a long overseas holiday. Admirals claim and attack on me are untrue and unfair. I am incredibly disappointed with Admiral and will never use them again. They are purely looking for a way out of honouring their agreement.
