Just a quick review and a warning!! To all potential customers.... I paid for allocated seats before my flight from England to Cyprus for 7 individuals, on our return I had to plea for them to give my son who has special need a seat next to me.
They told me to raise a complaint when I arrive back home in England, which I did. They closed the case within there allocated time allowed . If you try to call in person the charge rate per minute is at a premium rate.
The whole experience with Wizz air is nothing but awful.
I vow to never fly with them again.
Pay more and get peace of mind.
The one time I used WOW...just wow...
The one time I used WOW - the flight attendants and service in the air were generally okay but on the ground at Keflavik...Wheww rude. I just wanted to make sure I arrived to my gate on time - asked a question as to which gate my flight had been changed to. The lady just looked at me stone cold and picked up her phone to answer it so she didn't have to deal with people. The other lady was super helpful though and told me where I needed to go. These people have no idea what some other people may be going through - how do they even sleep at night doing what they've done in some of these horror stories I've read. I just timidly asked a question, was standing there, not wanting to bother anyone or anything, and certainly didn't feel entitled or uptight or anything, just had a question - yet we're treated like the stupid ones just asking where we need to go because it's not updated on the screen. Real stupidity is arrogance, and that was the core of this lady.
So sad this Co went out of business
NOT disappointed! So sad this Co went out of business. This was the best flight experience I have ever had! It was literally hassle free with international flights/luggage. I have flown quite a bit. This Co was by far the best!
Was a nice airline to fly with
I know they're defunct now but I honestly had a nice experience when they were operational. I don't know where everybody's bad experiences were, they were really nice to my family and I when we flew with them.
Save yourself the hassle fly with someone else
Rubbish food, rude staff and some of the roughest landings I’ve experienced. After all the added expenses it’s not much cheaper than other more reputable airlines. You really have to control your temper, it’s like they’re trying to antagonise you so they can label you a flight risk. Being brown and Muslim made me an easy target. Something I’ve gotten used to being born and brought up in Europe.
Flight cancelled with 1 week notice. Is WOW Air defunct?
My flight from Chicago to New Delhi has been cancelled a week before. I am trying to reach customer service for 3 hours but nobody answers the phone. The auto-message says that the customer service staff is busy giving best service to customers, Really!!!! Also, they sent an email notifying that the flight has been cancelled due to unforeseen reasons and that i should select an option to re-schedule, which I did but they have not yet responded. Some time later I received another email asking whether i am prepared for my trip to Delhi, is this a joke? On their website, there are no flights to Delhi in February but there are still tickets for January. With all the financial problems, such a terrible service (not sure how such a company survives), and IcelandAir deal falling through; is WOW Air going bankrupt? How can an airline cancel a long haul flight with 1 week notice? Is it defunct? Also, with so many customer complaints, is there a legal case against this company?
Avoid WOW air at all costs
Avoid WOW air at all costs. I made the mistake of booking a second time with them and I deeply regret it...
My first flight was in March 2017 from Copenhagen to Reykjavik. I made a mistake on the booking, called 1 minute later and even though I wanted to change to another WOW Air flight, I was told that I had to repurchase another ticket.
I unfortunately booked my second trip with them on the 20th of December 2018 from Los Angeles to Copenhagen via Reykjavik. I receive a text from them 3 days before my flight telling me that due to unforeseen circumstances I am now flying 17 hours before my initial departure so I depart on the 19th of December. My layover is now 19 hours instead of 2 hours. They tell me I can cancel or change my flight but note that this is during Christmas season so I am left with the following options:
If I cancel my flight, the ticket I will repurchase will be 2x more expensive so I decide to try to change it. All options that are offered to me include a 19 hour layover. So now I am left with the option of paying twice as much for a new ticket with another company or waiting 19 hours, all of this because they made a mistake. So as far as I can see, I am technically paying for their messup?
I have never ever dealt with such inflexible and bad customer service before. Oh and if you think that I was offered compensation for the inconvenience, I got $0. Actually I technically have to pay for this because I'm missing an extra day of work... I asked for a hotel room, for money or for some type of compensation but they kept on repeating my options: change your flight or cancel it.
If WOW air is reading this, I hope that you will soon realise that you can't make your customers pay for your mistakes. This is a business model that is doomed to fail and to be quite honest I hope that you go bankrupt very soon so that no one else will have to experience such infuriating lack responsibility. Own up to your mistakes...
I will do my best to make as much noise as possible and not recommend your airline to anyone. This is truly a disgrace of a company.
I recommend them to everybody
As my review was added only to .dk I add it here as well.
Flight with them 3 times to Iceland and back to Berlin. Never had any complaints. The Ladies in the Cabin are super friendly and professional.
For me it was more then enough leg space (1,67m). My boyfriend (1.,92m) fit in as well but I had to remind the passenger in front of him to stop changing the seat position. So if you are able to ask people (or to press your knee against their seat to stop them) you fit in there even if you are tall.
If you forgot to get something to drink an Egils for 3€ is a nice option but you can only pay with credit card.
Check in and luggage drop off works perfectly and fast. We also got our luggage back very quick on all flights.
I love to fly with Wow Air :)
worst spicily rude people in DALLAS…
worst spicily rude people in DALLAS office
Worst airline ever
I have flown with a lot of airlines in my time and this is by far the worst I have ever flown with. Website would not let me buy bags for my flight and Inwas charged £130 pound at the airport. Customer service was useless and said next time to call them. Believe ive me when I say there will be not be a next time. Please please avoid this airline like the plague. Doesnt matter how cheap the tickets are they will charge you in other ways it is not worth the hassle. Pay more and fly with IcelandAir I wish I had done.
WOW air will not refund and cancel flight 1 and a half months away from departure.
Booked a two months in advance of my flight and and 1 month and a half BEFORE the flight - WOW air will not cancel and refund!
It's 2018... Full refund should be warranted a month and a half away from departure. I paid $300 for the ticket - they will be able to get much more for the flight now.
WORST COMPANY EVER
WORST COMPANY EVER. DO NOT FLY WITH THEM!!!
They "lost my luggage" for 16 days!
When it was actually at the airport in the city where I live for the whole time!! Under their custody!!
They kept saying they do not have my bag and when I finally managed to get it back after spending over probably 50 HOURS OVER THE PHONE (MOSTLY ON HOLD) + INTERNATIONAL CALL FEES + GOING TO THE AIRPORT MULTIPLE TIMES, WHERE ITS A NIGHTMARE TO ACTUALLY FIND ANYONE THAT WORKS FOR WOWAIRLINES, the airport barely knew they had a counter there; many items where STOLEN from my bag!
Their CUSTOMER SERVICE answer by e-mail: CONTACT THE POLICE.
REALLY?!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT???
I have been working in the hospitality industry for almost 10 years. Never in my life have I seen something like this.
My trip ended up being more expensive than a regular airline plus stress!! They never offered to refund me even 20$ on basics. They actually declined. DO NOT FLY WITH THEM. I CANNOT SAY THIS ENOUGH
Terrible service
Terrible service. Rude staff. Charge you extra for you bags when you have already paid. No food or drinks provided. The staff don’t even come and see if you are ok. WOW STANDS FOR WORST OF THE WORST . I will never use them again
Absolute worst airline on earth
Absolute worst airline on earth. Left us stranded in Iceland for almost 24 hours with no communication. They literally do not have any customer service infrastructure. Obviously issues happen with flights, but they have 0 processes in place when issues arise. We were left sitting in Iceland for almost a full day wondering how, if and when we would even get home. It was such a nightmare and I urge anyone reading this to avoid them at all costs.
Do not use WOW air!
Do not use WOW air! Terrible costumer service that hardly speak English, They made us call another number, then the first number again and they did that four times! They couldn't find the e-mail adress that we used in the booking of the flight - it seems that they somehow changed it. They never respond on any e-mails and when you call them, you do not get any help at all!
DO NOT FLY WOW AIR
Dear WOW Air,
I turned 50 in January and my boyfriend surprised me with the trip of a life time to Paris. It was only 4 days but it was PARIS, so I didn’t care.
I cannot even express how excited I was. I have never traveled over seas and I could not wait! Our flight with WOW Air had a layover in Iceland which was even better. Now I could say I had been to Iceland, even if for only an hour.
On the day we were to depart, January 18th, 2018, I made us get to the airport 4 hours early just so I could hang out and shop in duty free. Boy, would I regret that decision later.
I am still not sure of all the details but we sat on the plane for two hours while the captain argued that he didn’t feel safe flying a plane someone was allowed to board WITH NO PASSPORT. How did someone get on the plane with no passport? I have no clue, but it happened.
I didn’t blame WOW but I take exception to EVERYTHING that happened after this.
Two hours later we FINALLY took off. Unfortunately our lay over in Iceland was only an hour so I was so stressed the entire time we were in the air. Our flight finally landed at 6:05 am Icelandic time. Our connecting flight took off at 6:00am.
We missed our flight because your airline wouldn’t hold the connecting flight for five minutes. I was so upset to miss a night in Paris especially over a 5 minute difference. We weren’t the only ones who missed our flight. There were about 16 of us total. You gave us no info when we landed other than to get our bags from the baggage carousel. When we got our luggage (which took FOREVER) we were told to meet someone from your airline and they would give us more info.
We were handed vouchers for a free night in a hotel of your choice with meals & transportation. We were not given any other options except to catch the same flight on the following day. My boyfriend & I decided to make the best of it since our only other option was to book with another airline and pay a ton of money.
I felt really bad for Alicia who was on her way to Germany for two days to celebrate her birthday. Instead she celebrated in tears in Iceland. There was Lorien, who’s father passed away and she missed his funeral due to the missed connection.
We all tried to make the best of it since we couldn’t do anything about it, and especially since NO ONE from WOWAir CARED.
It was poorly handled and could have been resolved by holding the connecting flight for 15 more minutes.
Fast forward to January 23rd when we were scheduled to return home.
My boyfriend had a heart attack and died the morning we were supposed to fly out.
I had to call and reschedule my flight so I could stay behind in Paris and get his body sent back to the USA. Not only was it near impossible to get ahold of someone to speak to, but when I finally did I was treated with no empathy at all. They customer service rep was unhelpful, and uncaring to my situation. I didn’t know how much longer I was going to be in Paris. MY BOYFRIEND JUST DIED.
So thanks for charging me $300 to change my flight to a date I was unsure of while simultaneously being callous and extremely not helpful.
I ended up not using that ticket at all but instead I flew home on a different flight in January 26th.
A friend had pre-paid for my bags to come home with me. (I had additional ones that were my boyfriends).
What a debacle that was. No one had any recollection of this even though I had a receipt for it.
I was in tears by then because it was too much.
My boyfriend just died days before this and now Wow doesn’t want me to fly home with my bags?
WOWAir made a terrible situation so much worse. Shame on you guys for having zero customer service. Did I mention I TRIED multiple times to reach out to you guys one social media like you mention in your pre recorded message?
My only response was a scripted one via bot, not human.
Shame on you guys for having ZERO empathy and such undertrained and unhelpful employees.
I will never fly WOWAir again and I am going to share this story on all social media channels to make sure everyone knows what a terrible and unorganized airline you are.
Abysmal. On a par with Ryanair
Abysmal. Yet another one of these airlines that does everything they can to mislead you during booking, to screw you over at the gate when your bag is bigger than practically every other airline accepts as standard hand luggage.
Of course the website does it's best to obscure this fact through numerous screens offering you various 'special offers' but yet can't even seat me with my partner when made the booking for two. And then pulling a £70 charge on me at the gate for my bag.
Please, just boycott this company. It's not a reflection on Icelandic people (who are amazing) or the country (equally amazing). Fly with Easyjet if you're travelling from elsewhere in Europe & hopefully over time this company & it's like will collapse.
Utterly Incompetent
Utterly Incompetent
Terrible company, outward flight they left around 200 people's luggage behind and very slow at communicating the problem and sorting it out.
On my return flight they changed the flight time without telling me, refused to let me check in, told me to re-book the flight but then refused to let me even do that and said that all they could do was refund the taxes. I ended up having to book another flight with another airline at my own expense, and 15 months and numerous communications later still have not received any money back.
They often take several months to respond to emails, and staff on their phone-lines are poor at communicating and don't seem to care. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I recommend using a different airline, it is likely to work out cheaper in the end.
Worst airline ever
Worst airline ever. Screwed up my flights, twice. Failed to refund me for all of the delays and mess.
Shocking customer service. Appalling communication. DO NOT use this airline.
Our flight was cancelled on the morning of our departure. We were made aware of the cancellation by text and told to "fill in an online form" and await a response. We did not get one until 24 hours later at which point they tried to put us on a flight the day we were due to return. We attempted several times to call the UK phone number advertised for them on their website and found the line had been switched off so we could not speak to anyone. With no other option we ended up having to travel 2.5 hours to the airport to be given a cold and unsympathetic response by the check in staff and no available options for an alternative flight. Although the cancellation was due to bad weather in Iceland no attempt was made by the airline to reschedule our flight. To make matters even worse we learned whilst we were at the airport that they had used our flight slot instead to send an earlier scheduled flight. I have never known such appalling attitude, service and lack of communication. This company should not be operating. God forbid anyone who books with them and has an issue with their flight. It just seems that nobody at WOW Air wants to know about it. I'm now £1500 out of pocket for a break I could not get to and going through the stress of now trying to get a refund. I've already raised my experience with BBC Watchdog and intend to look at other ways to reach a resolution with this awful company.
