Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 135 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers found the products to be of poor quality, often describing them as cheap and not meeting expectations for the price paid. Reviewers frequently felt misled by the company's branding, which suggested British craftsmanship, only to discover items were made in China. The delivery service was a significant concern for many, with long waiting times and issues regarding tracking information or incorrect deliveries. However, some people also felt that despite the Chinese origin, the product quality was acceptable or even good, especially considering the cost.

I take back everything negative I said…

I take back everything negative I said about this firm as I received my 2 hats this morning and they are lovely quality, good fit and nicely packaged.
I gave 4 stars because they are misleading as they are not London based at all, now America, but instead made in China. However, happy with them. Took 12 days to arrive from ordering.

Long, long Delivery Times

So the first thing to note is this not a British company as such. They give the impression that it is but, not surprisingly, the caps are made in China. Not sure why they aren't more up front with this as the cap I received was ok quality - certainly for the £22 cost. The seams, for instance, are taped. I've only had it a day so I don't know what it'll be like through the winter months. The big downside of the purchase though was the very long delivery time - I was beginning to wonder if this was a scam but no it wasn't. There is a delivery progress page but I'm not sure how accurate it is. Allow at least 12 working days from build to delivery.

When I ordered a flat cap I was very pleased with the quality.

When I ordered a flat cap I was a little worried about the one size fits all as I have a small head. When the cap arrived, in a respectable time, I was able to adjust the size to a comfortable fit. I found the cap to be of good quality material and very well made. I would definitely recommend Winston and Wilfred to one and all.

Tried to return a cap

Tried to return a cap ( too small and cheaply made). Followed directions to return and emails bounced. Tried main email and it bounced. Company seems fake and certainly not customer centric.

Avoid this Chinese scam

Absolute bunch of scammers! They tell me they have delivered my order to my safe place in Glasgow, I live in Wiltshire! All they will say is sorry for the inconvenience! Any positive review in my opinion is AI generated.

Buyer beware!

Don’t be fooled by the glossy front end. They are not the ‘hatters’ they make themselves out to be! I did receive a hat (eventually) but it was cheaply made from thin material and made in China.

The company did a Exceptionally good…

The company did a Exceptionally good job of keeping me informed as my hats were In transit from their business setting to my home. The hats were exceptionally well made of good material and fit was exactly as it should be. I will be ordering another hat soon to fit the time of year.

Another Facebook scam.

This is a scam website advertising great looking caps on Facebook lovely polished website bespoke traditional hatters with a workshop in London, until you don’t receive the goods and you dig a little more and find the return address is in Asia, returns at your expense and in the small print they deduct the cost of the free postage and administration charge.I lost £22 so beware do not give them your money.

FAKE WEBSITE, FAKE COMPANY - Chinese rubbish

I stupidly paid £54 for 3 x hats as I was duped by the glossy website and advertising. Orderd on 2 Oct and arrived 20 Oct. Shipped from China. Poundshop quality. Simply rubbish that will be thrown away. I did email the company after a week and got a reply from 'Sophie' who claimed to be 'Winson's daughter' saying hats on way. Company check proves they don't exist. Address they provide at 133 Church Street, London is an office block which contains an advertising company 'Paddington Agency'. I emailed to cancel the order but of course their terms mean the second you place the order it's too late. To return the items to China at my expense when I am doubtful of recovering my money would be throwing even more money away. I have reported them to Trading Standards via Citizen's Advice this morning but doubt anything will happen.

Yet another Chinese knockoff.

In my opinion yet another Chinese company pretending to be from the UK, and riding on the back of our national quality and reputations to sell its poor quality ‘rip offs’.
I admit to being scammed by them in a moment of stupidity. I have tried contacting them, with no response.
Buyer beware!

This is a scam business operating from…

This is a scam business operating from a residential flat in London with of course no telephone number. You will be buying cheap, nasty, one size, poor quality caps which will be despatched from China. You will be unable to return items unless you send them to China at your expense. The whole web site and Facebook is designed to fool you into thinking that this is a proper hatting business. It is all false, it has no history and no workship at all. It is a scam business to make a quick profit from selling rubbish.
