Unprofessional

I dealt with William H brown, Holderness road branch as a tenant. Firstly, they tried to scam me into buying home insurance as an essential requirement of the contract. During the tenancy my landlord was lovely and remained in touch directly, so thankfully I didnt have to deal with them. At the end, I was in huge trouble because WH brown's absolute unprofessionalism. Despite multiple calls and requests they failed to provide references for my next agent. I had no where to go for a week due to this delay. It cost me a fortune! Over a month has lapsed but they have done anything about my deposit. When asked they said to get in touch with the lamdlord directly. Whereas they were the ones processing the deposit collection initially. After sorting it with the landlord myself it was over 2 weeks without any further progress to deposit return. Really a shameful service!! Staff and service all pathetic

Don't buy a house using WH Brown Horsforth

Very disappointing experience. I put in an offer on a property and then heard nothing for a week. By the time I followed up, the house was gone.
I was not properly kept updated or told in a timely way that my offer had been accepted, which meant I lost the opportunity to move forward. Communication is one of the most important parts of buying a home, and unfortunately this experience fell well short of what I expected.
I would not recommend this agent based on my experience.

Its been 5 years since I moved out of a rented property by William H Brown in St Albans and I have not been refunded my holding deposit. I have contacted them severally over the phone and emails and no luck till date. Nothing but radio silence. First I was told the Landlord would be contacted to claim back the £500 or so left after she dubiously claimed damages on the property. They then later pushed it on me to speak chase the landlord to reach an agreement on obtaining my deposit back. I have used a 2026 date on my review because trustpilot doesnt allow you to go all the way back to 2021.

Diddled me OUT OF MY LIFE SAVINGS!

They are lying, cheating thieves. They diddled me out of a large portion of my life savings. They do not care about the catastrophic effects of their actions on local hard-working families and community members. They only care about enriching themselves at the expense of others. Do not engage with them and do not go anywhere near the absolute scam of modern auctions, which they orchestrate via third parties as an obvious attempt to distance themselves from legal responsibility and liability for malpractice.

They will happily misrepresent the details of a property, including vital information about subsidence and structural issues, mortgageability, resaleability, insurability, and appreciability, just so they can get their cut.

I urge all UK residents to boycott this business due to their dishonest practices.

My recent email to WHB can show you my frustration level.

Dear WHB Representative,

Our renting experience with WHB was outstanding but I regret that after sales services are not only poor but also kind of betraying.

Since December we are paying rent of full house but we are not using its garden and outdoor storage area as all of that is full of rubbish and crap.
I have followed up with several emails and calls but I am not entertained in the way I have the right to be entertained as a customer.

False promises and miscommitments from WHB.

Now is the time for plantation and using garden but my garden is full of bushes, weeds and trees.

I was told at the time of renting that everything will be sorted but i am ending up with a missing storage area, unstable pavers and a piece of jungle rather than a garden.

If you guys can’t fix it please consider it as a notice from my side as I would prefer to leave this house rather than staying in a rubbish and continues eye soaring view of garden.

Thanks

Avoid Charly Saunders at Grantham

Avoid Charly Saunders at Grantham, Lincolnshire branch. Appalling and unprofessional, needs retraining on how to manage properties as well as how to actually handle customers. Two-faced only wants to extract your money and then will blacklist you after. Stay away!

The company is really terrible

The company is really terrible, the Nottingham branch. They claim to manage properties on behalf of landlords but they don’t communicate complaints from tenants to the landlords regarding the property.

They also speak over you, are very condescending and insist that you accept unliveable conditions. Completely regret ever contacting them to get a flat.

Avoid this lot like a dose of the clap !

Complete lack of communication and professionalism. Chelmsford branch can’t be bothered picking up their phone in their central Chelmsford branch . Thought I’d use brain and call their other Chelmsford branch . A polite guy answered and explained he couldn’t help but would send my enquiry over to the main branch . Of course , absolutely nothing back . Just plain rude and NOT worthy of myself or yours hard earned cash . Now on the cusp of being homeless so many thanks . If they spent more time on customer care and less on themselves they’d might occasionally pick a phone up or at the very least, email. AVOID as they’re as compassionate and caring as Harold Shipman !

Do not use this estate agent

Do not use this estate agent. They did not act in our interest and quite openly attempted to bully us into selling our property at well under the market value. We had a ridiculous offer, which they just expected us to take. Zero effort made to push the property after the offer.

It seems obvious now. A flat fee deal sounds good, but clearly the EA then cares not what price the property sells for. They get their fee even if you were to give your house away.

Women beware also "Do you think you better check with your husband" and "you're being a bit emotional" was the type of language used by the male manager.

this company are self deluding idiots

this company are self deluding idiots, I reported a fault on the rented property that should be a high priority to get in fix in accordance with the law but four four months it was ignord, then when some one finanly showed up he tried to like about the highgen (I have time stampted photos of the area that poove he was lieing) the the "repair man they insit on sending is a foul mouths arogant and disrispectful idiot who donse extremly slopy work and when he was told to stop swearing at me and talking to me like I'm dog dirt he esculated his aggression towards me complaining to this company about his atrocious the tried to say that I was being rude and abusive yet another lie from this delusian factory, they refuse to recognise that a customer complain about bad and unethical buisness practises is not customers being rude or abusive its totaly legitimate to complaint when they leave a room raining in for SEVEN months! telling them the laws they are breaching is not being rude or abusive it is stating the facts of what the laws says, it is mind boggling that this company is not under criminal investigation for its misconduct

Anne Luby has been amazing from the…

Anne Luby has been amazing from the very beginning. She took the time to arrange regular Teams meetings, which made the whole experience feel much more personal. As a first time buyer, I had absolutely no idea where to start and was a complete novice who felt out of her depth, but Anne guided me through every step of the process.

Anne would also regularly send me properties that matched my requirements, check to see where I was at in terms of viewings etc... which was incredibly helpful and made the search process much easier.

Anne responds to emails and calls promptly, no matter the time or day. Anne is incredibly friendly and approachable, and she makes you feel comfortable asking questions - no question is ever treated as a silly one. She is always on hand to explain things clearly and provide reassurance when needed.

Anne has a wealth of knowledge and takes the time to explain everything in detail. She also managed to secure me the best possible mortgage deal. Throughout the entire process she remained professional, kept in regular contact with updates, and made sure I always knew what stage things were at and what needed to happen next.

William H Brown as a whole have been amazing and incredibly supportive. I was originally contacted by someone called Hannah who recommended Anne and could tell I was starting to lose momentum with my house search. Hannah would regularly check in with me to see where I was at with everything and really helped give me my motivation back.

I would 100% recommend Anne and the team to anyone. Their patience, support, friendliness, and professionalism made the whole experience so much easier. Forever grateful for William H Brown and their amazing team!

Norwich branch- overall the staff have been great especially Ethan, however they have a lot of ‘hidden’ fees and also charge ridiculously high for simple things such as an increase in rent they charged me £300 other companies I have used do not do this, I don’t rate the company at all, there’s a lot of other options available I would suggest shopping around
