Avoid These Guys Like It's COVID in March 2020

I signed up with Ascend Ecom, aka AE Logistics/Ascend Capventures/Ascend Distribution/potentially other names, back in September 2021. I invested $20,000 as my initial investment. By the time my Amazon store was created and initial inventory purchased, I made my first sales on Amazon in January 2022.

At first, my experience was okay. It was a little slow, but that was to be expected. Some product was selling and I continued to be told good things by them as to what to expect in the coming months and about some things they were doing at Ascend to help their clients skyrocket their success.

However, after a few months, things really never picked up, and when I did have some high revenue months (high 4 figure to low 5 figure revenue), it was met with a myriad of challenges.

Overall, some of the challenges I dealt with during my time working with Ascend include:

-Multiple Amazon violations & warnings, including: a secondary user being removed from my account for drop shipping, claims of counterfeit inventory, valid tracking rate not meeting requirements, and more
-Account almost being deactivated due to low account health. Surprisingly, my account wasn't ever deactivated, though most other Ascend clients I've spoken with have had their accounts deactivated. Ascend was never quick to resolve compliance issues with Amazon and I typically ended up taking care of it myself in order to avoid being suspended
-Listing product under the wrong brand, which resulted in the aforementioned counterfeit product claims. For example, they sold a bunch of cheap Choice brand cooking pans under the Volrath brand name. As you would suspect, many of these ended up being returned and the products were blocked from being sold. As a result of the returns and the Amazon FBA model, this also resulted in high fees for returns and for inventory storage for items that wouldn't sell and ultimately for inventory removal fees to get the products out of Amazon warehouses and avoid the storage fees from accumulating.
-Multiple letters from brand representatives saying that I had no rights to sell their products, which once again resulted in high fees due to having already had to purchase the product
-Poor communication: I was assigned multiple account managers over a two year period and never was certain who was in charge of my account. In addition, communication channels continued to change (Ryver, ClickUp, Slack, email, etc.) leaving prior communication in multiple places and hard to reference back to that prior communication.
-Lack of visibility into store results/inaccurate information: Ascend was often months delayed in providing profit sheets and these were often not fully accurate, as they didn't reflect all of the returns and associated fees, thereby falsely inflating store profits
-Inaccurate billing: As previously stated, profits were overinflated, so profit share invoices were overinflated. Also, I never should have received any profit share invoices, as my store never managed to break even due to all of the returns, storage fees, etc., even before accounting for the initial investment. Further, Ascend tried to bill me for $4k of inventory that was purchased on my credit card as if they were the ones who purchased it. And finally, they tried to bill me for shipping charges for orders that never were shipped.
-Mishandling of inventory: Ascend employees confirmed to me that over $10k of inventory purchased for my store was lost by the warehouse. Ascend claims to be super organized, yet how do you lose $10k of inventory? To make up for this, they offered credits on future inventory, rather than paying me back for the inventory that I had already purchased months ago.
-Not following through on buyback promise: Ascend claimed that they would provide inventory with 20%+ margins and if it didn't sell through in 2 months, they would purchase the inventory back. However, they didn't honor this on the inventory credits and said they could potentially offer more credits as needed. Also, when the inventory I was credited for wasn't selling through on FBA and instead was incurring hefty storage fees from Amazon, Ascend was unwilling to pay to return the inventory back to Ascend warehouses, so the only option was to reduce the price to a point that for one of the items was less than the fees Amazon charged for that item, so every unit sold was at a loss.
-Ascend also assured me that before they purchased any inventory for my store, they would let me know so that I could approve it first. This never happened and I never saw any invoices from the merchants they purchased from, so I had to trust them at their word for cost of inventory.

If Ascend is as good as they say they are, why do they need you when they can keep 100% of profits on their own stores?

SCAM!!!

SCAM!!!
I write this review to serve as warning to others in regards to my experience with Ascend.

We signed up with Ascend in October of 2021, paying $55,000 for an Amazon store along with ungating/private label services. I completed everything on my part quickly afterwards and had an Amazon store up and approved within roughly 1 month after signing up. Since that time, Ascend has made no effort to keep any sort of inventory in that store. The store has remained dormant with no sales. When emailed/slacked/called, Ascend has no meaningful response have completely failed to live up to their end of the bargain. I and others are now in the process of legal action. Absolutely, do not invest a penny with these guys and then experience the headache that we have had... Please google lawsuits Ascend Ecom or google lawsuits Ascend Capventures. There are articles on law.com and other sites regarding settlements and lawsuits. Do you really want to invest money with a company where not one but multiple people are taking legal action to try and recoup money ?

Money grabbers

I signed up and paid in initial fee to have Ascend build and run my Amazon store. After about 6 months, my store was deactivated due to Ascends failure to adhere to the policies of Amazon. Since my store has been deactivated, I have see very little effort on Ascend behalf to get my store reactivated. I would not recommend this company to anyone who wants to work with honest people.

This has been the most disappointing…
This has been the most disappointing service experience I've encountered. My Amazon store got suspended shortly after its launch, and it's been five months without a resolution. Despite my patience throughout this ordeal, their online persona does not match reality. I've faced unfulfilled promises, poor communication, ignored requests and missed meetings. The company has repeatedly changed its name and communication channels during my brief interaction with them. The only significant contact occurred during the initial onboarding phase when they were awaiting my payment. It's outrageous for a company to take your money and provide such poor service, yet they continue to market themselves as if they honor their commitments to customers. In reality, they neglect their clients, overpromise, and underdeliver. I strongly advise against engaging with the entity currently known as ACV Partners, formerly known as Ascend Ecom and Ascend Capventures.
Check out their other reviews and how they cover them up with company reviews regarding a carpet cleaning service in an attempt to bury the negative feedback. Find another company to invest with and please do your due diligence. You've been cautioned!

Terrible, No-good, Very bad days.....with Ascend

Terrible experience with this comp. Contract 5/5/22, $30,000 fee, $25,000 in lost inventory. In two years they were successful at screwing up 14/15 inventory orders, getting stores deactivated, making money and products disappear and crippled by poor management. Everything (W.) has ever said about his "competitors" in his paid testimonials or videos is completely true about Ascend. This is now the 4th or 5th iteration of this company and business model, really nothing more than drop shipping and retail arbitration, but Amazon locked that down and Ascend was up the creek. Visits to their warehouse can confirm that it was a worse than anything you could imagine - complete and utter chaos. I have been selling on Amazon for 10 years, FBM/FBA and it was really appalling how inept this service was. When a mistake happens one time, it's a mistake, when it happens every time it's a pattern. Amazon shut out companies like this for a reason, because there is no real service, that's pretty clear. Whichever, sounds like they're struggling now, which makes sense. There is no "store buyback", or "inventory buyback", or communication for that matter it's all a mirage, it's unlikely they're even buying product at this point. I've seen more responses here on Trust Pilot than anywhere, they're playing "wack a mole" obviously now.

I encourage anyone reading this to read the good and bad reviews and make their determinations on their own. If you like unremarkable "transparency", or "leadership", by all means wire this company money, no less than $30k to get started.

UPDATE: Yes, this is more like the Ascend I know....
1. Respect and integrity are earned through actions but when you systematically take advantage of people who pay no less than $30k to invest, I think that the level of understanding and patience diminishes quickly.

2. You say numerous attempts to engage constructively, when? In reality, Ascend has responded to (3) emails over a less than 2 year period and most email addresses are now unattended. Hence, why people come to this forum. Online harassment? 1 review is hardly harassment. You keep saying "transparent", I'm not sure you know what that word means.

3.Transparent again! If you feel the need to publicly address the "claims", I'm glad. That's the first step towards acceptance. I'm just confused, integrity of which company? Ascend Ecom, Ascend CapVentures, AElogistics, Ascend Ecommerce? It's really confusing.

4. Deliberately misleading.....sorry, needed to have a sip of tea after that one. One of many here...
"Subject: Amazon Seller Drop Shipping and Code of Conduct Policy Reminder December 11, 2022 at 9:44:01 PM, Dear Amazon Seller, We would like to notify you that a secondary user on your selling account has been removed for violations of our policies..."

5. Coordinated Slander, certainly the first time I've been accused of being coordinated. Once again when you take peoples money and lose it all, I think that usually triggers some unhappy sentiments. Reading some of your responses to other folks is actually what triggered me to write a review. In terms of malicious defamation, there are avenues for you to pursue if you must, I think you already have my phone number, and email and address and credit card numbers and social security number....

6. Personal Harassment, talk about malicious defamation. When you take large sums of peoples money and disappear it's pretty logical to assume that they will call you or text you. So, "Management", you still haven't returned that single call that went straight to voicemail 6 months ago asking for an update on $10k of inventory that was unaccounted for. If it is 2pm in New York, what time is it in the Philippines? 2am? Also, those 3am reminders to pay the "Invoices", for products that "went missing" or “services not delivered” aren't disruptive at all.

8. Excels at navigating how they can get your store deactivated in record times for many policy violations.

9. They are firm on their 24hr response time to negative reviews. But flaccid on the response time to costly errors and miscalculations.

10. They stand by their values (transparency again?). Yet, everything in my review is true (and more) It just stinks that I had to delete some of it to finish my response.

UPDATED RESPONSE: I have tried contacting you dozens of times, never any responses and always passing the buck, “There are no buybacks ever!”, your owner has said privately. As I told your lawyer 3x, when he said he would take my request to “management” — Send me my fees back to the address on file and an NDA or call me and set up a payment plan, stop hiding from the truth, you guys failed enormously then doubled down. Otherwise, I’m waiting for that cease and desist, your choice, everyone is s tired of these games.

Hi Eric,

We hold our relationships with clients and the dedication of our employees in the warehouses we have to the highest regard. It's these relationships that drive success for clients. It is against this backdrop of respect and integrity that we find ourselves compelled to address a series of unfounded accusations and inappropriate actions by Eric.

Despite numerous attempts to engage with Eric constructively and reach an amicable resolution, he has chosen to bypass these efforts, opting instead for spreading misinformation and engaging in a campaign of online harassment. This behavior not only disrespects the professional and transparent manner in which we conduct our business but also undermines the hard work and dedication of our team, who strive daily to deliver outstanding service to our clients.

In the interest of transparency and to set the record straight, we feel it is necessary to publicly address the claims made, detailing the facts of the matter for our clients, employees, and the wider public to see. We do this not out of contention, but to defend the integrity of our company.

Dropshipping Accusation: The claim that our business model revolves around dropshipping on Amazon is entirely unfounded. We have never engaged in such practices, and suggesting so is a deliberate attempt to mislead. There is absolutely no amazon model we have done that involves this.

Coordinated Slander: It has come to our attention that Eric is part of a small group committed to tarnishing our reputation through coordinated attacks online. This behavior goes beyond the bounds of legitimate criticism into the realm of malicious defamation.

Personal Harassment: The situation has escalated beyond professional boundaries, with Eric resorting to harassing some family members of our leadership team, including distressing phone calls at all hours threatening them. Such actions are unacceptable and reflect a troubling disregard for basic decency.

Misrepresentation of Services and Outcomes: The portrayal of our services, the alleged mishandling of inventory and orders, and the characterization of our business evolution are not only incorrect but intentionally misleading. Our operations are built on transparency, expertise, and a deep commitment to our clients' success.

Warehouse Operations and Efficiency: The depiction of our warehouse operations as chaotic is a baseless accusation intended to undermine the hard work and professionalism of our team. We maintain the highest standards in all aspects of our operations.

Blame and Responsibility: Assigning blame to us for platform-level decisions and policies ignores the complex landscape of e-commerce. Our team excels at navigating these challenges, always with our clients' best interests in mind.

Communication and Client Service: Our dedication to client communication and service is unwavering. The claim of non-communication is contrary to the values we uphold and the consistent, positive feedback we receive from our clients, We are firm on a 24 hour response time and have continued to improve this.

The actions of Eric, from spreading false information to engaging in personal harassment, are deeply regrettable. We stand by our values, our integrity, and the quality of service we provide.

As an AE client, you have a 24 hour support line and support email and a client portal. Given you have gone beyond what is a breach on your agreement , you are now in the compliance department. So communication will only happen there. We have an assessment of a buyout for you to part ways. Unfortunately, this can not be presented until you take action on your part with retraction of specific steps of which we are all aware of.

No more communication will happen via the internet given internal protocols set with your current situation and misleading messaging.

thank you

SCAM ALERT! STAY AWAY!!

My experience with Ascend Ecom LLC has led me to believe that their operations are far from legitimate and, in fact, may be indicative of fraudulent practices. Here's why:

1. **Constant Change of Website Addresses:** Ascend Ecom LLC appears to constantly change website addresses, a practice often associated with attempts to evade scrutiny or mask their identity.

2. **Other Claims on Trustpilot:** Numerous claims, particularly on Trustpilot, echo my own experience and shed light on a consistent pattern of deceptive practices employed by Ascend Ecom LLC.

3. **Frequent Company Name Changes:** The company seems to have a penchant for changing its name regularly, raising suspicions about its intentions and making it challenging for customers to track their history.

4. **High-Risk Agreements:** The agreements they have victims sign appear to be structured in a way that places the burden of failure entirely on the client, indicating a predatory and high-risk approach to their business dealings.

5. **Fake Positive Reviews on Trustpilot:** There are allegations that Ascend Ecom LLC engages in creating fake positive reviews on platforms like Trustpilot, undermining the credibility of user reviews.

6. **Misleading Information on BBB:** Ascend Ecom LLC's claim to be out of business on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) while continuing to operate raises serious questions about their transparency and honesty in dealing with regulatory bodies.

7. **Wyoming LLC for Lack of Transparency:** Choosing to be based in Wyoming as an LLC, a state known for its limited disclosure requirements, contradicts their claim of valuing transparency and further raises concerns about their commitment to openness.

In light of these practices, it is crucial for potential clients to exercise extreme caution when considering any engagement with Ascend Ecom LLC. My intention is to alert others to the potential risks and deceptive nature of this company's operations.

Disappointing Experience

My experience with AELT (Formerly Ascend Ecom LLC) for Amazon FBA management services unfortunately did not meet my expectations. While I appreciate their initial promises and efforts, the overall experience has fallen short of what was discussed.

Communication and responsiveness were inconsistent throughout our engagement, which made it challenging to address concerns and receive timely updates. Despite assurances of comprehensive services, I encountered continual issues with product sourcing, supply chain verification, and store deactivation that were not effectively resolved.

Additionally, I found the level of support and guidance provided to be lacking, especially when it came to handling customer service inquiries and addressing store performance issues. There seemed to be a disconnect between the promises made and the actual execution of services.

While I understand that challenges can arise in any business endeavor, I believe there is significant room for improvement in the delivery of services and the overall client experience. Clearer communication, enhanced transparency, and a stronger focus on client satisfaction would go a long way in improving the quality of service provided by AELT (Formerly Ascend Ecom LLC).

Pros:
Initial promises and efforts
Some scattered sales success

Cons:
- Inconsistent communication and responsiveness
- Issues with product sourcing and listing optimization
- Lack of support and guidance
- Gap between promises and actual execution
- High staff turnover

Conclusion:
Everyone's experience is different, but I have lost 10s of thousands of dollars on this endeavor and have yet to recoup it. Numerous attempts to contact the organizational leadership have gone unanswered.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Avoid at all costs. We signed up
With a $40k initial investment for a 70/30 split in September 2022. Since that time our store has done less than $200 in total sales and that was literally over a year ago. The communication is AWFUL, we also explained how we put a significant amount of our money up and because of the investment and lack of follow through on Ascend’s part it placed us in a bind. We’ve been told one thing by one person and something else from another person. To say we just gave them $40,000 is literally what has happened. I wish I knew how to connect with those wanting to file a lawsuit with them as I too would like to get in on that. Honestly. The lack of transparency, professionalism, and support received is awful, I honestly don’t think it’s the fault of the employees as we know they are only following instructions. But request after request for clarity, a way out, actually have my store up and running, ANYTHING have all fallen on deaf ears. It’s unclear what is actually happening with our money but what is clear is that we aren’t seeing any of it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Please keep looking. Please!

Stay away from Ascend. Unresponsive and unreliable

We started with Ascend back in Dec 2021 to run an Amazon store. I had high hopes due to the booming E-comm market at the time and even my personal store was outperforming what I imagined.

The contract was for 24 months and came with a guarantee of a buyout if we did not make back our initial investment. 2 years seems aggressive, but I liked having the option to back out depending on progress by the end of the contract.

Our first sale did not happen until March 13, 2022 and we were kept in the dark about product purchases and where these items were purchased from. Communication jumped around from email, clickup, slack, and most recently back to email to "provide better service." We complained about performance at the end of 2022 and had a new store manager put in place. Nothing changed throughout 2023.

We were sent an invoices to provide capital to purchase products from their own shell LLC instead of purchasing from retailers/wholesalers directly. When asked about the end of our contract, numbers were beat around the bush saying they had to do a "full audit" on our store which means there was no accurate accounting since our store was being tossed around by multiple teams who had no idea what they were doing.

From Mar 2022 to Sept 2023, our store sold a TOTAL of $14,000 which ends up being a loss of $1,200 after shipping and FBA fees. Again I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I was not expecting to get my full investment back by 24 months, but I expected to be profitable at least.

Since then, our store was deactivated due to Ascend being unable to provide verification of the inventory being bought. Promises of an appeal were made back in Sept 2023 and nothing has been sent on behalf the Ascend team.

Our "US based Account Manager" only replies with "I'd have to ask my manager/leadership" or "Our team is working on it, but I cannot provide any information." Unfortunately our contract is conveniently on pause since our store is suspended so the buyout/refund option is not available. It feels like this is being intentionally being done in order to keep our money.

I would recommend staying away from Ascend even if you have the extra capital looking for an investment. The communication is nonexistent and their teams are not savvy enough to purchase profitable items to generate a large ROI enough to split. I am currently looking for legal options to at least get back some of our investment.

A complete SCAM. Please do not waste your money

I signed on with ASCEND in December 2021. To date im down thousands of dollars invested in product alone not including the 30K upfront. Ill simplify my complaints in order:

1. Not holding up their end of the contract by maximizing the capitol I agreed to have available. agree to have 25K of Capitol in which Ascend never fully maximized it. You would think they would look for large Bulk purchases but i was nickel and dimed for product purchased for resale. After a year and a half with the company they finally came back with a wholesale option. I agreed to purchasing it with a buy back guarantee. After asking questions they never resent a purchase request.

2. No accountability of your product. Since April 2023 I've asked them to perform a audit of all my product I've purchased at the Ascend Warehouse and items returned. 7 months later I've received no such report.

3. Poor product selection. Of the products purchased I've saw less than ideal returns based of what was advertised during their pitch.

4. Not verifying products before placing on my store. I received legal noticed from a manufactures lawyer stating that i was selling a product to wasn't pre approved for resale.

5.Store deactivated due to Ascend. Currently my account has been deactivated for 2 months due to actions taken by Ascend. Ive repeatedly message my "TEAM" asking what actions is being taken to get my account in good standing. AS of today, it has one month since my last message asking in which i have not received a reply.

In short, this company is poorly run and make false promises when pitching their product to potential investors. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your money or you will be throwing it away

Dear Jake,

Thank you for sharing your concerns on Trustpilot, and I appreciate the opportunity to address each of the points you've raised. I would like to provide a detailed response to ensure clarity and transparency.

1. Working Capital Utilization:
Our contract does not obligate us to fully spend the entire working capital amount immediately. Our strategy is intentional, focusing on the long-term success of your business. Maximizing the capital strategically ensures that we do not overstock products, allowing for better inventory management and preventing items from sitting idle as your business matures.

Our pitch clearly outlines that the working capital applies to your overall business and select products, and our approach aligns with regular retail practices, where varying margins are expected, and fluctuations in sales are normal.

The introduction of a wholesale option, as well as the buyback guarantee, demonstrates our commitment to adapting and optimizing your business strategy.

2. Accountability and Product Audits:
I apologize for any inconvenience regarding the delay in providing an audit report. I assure you that we take accountability seriously, and we are actively working on generating a comprehensive audit report of all your purchased and returned products. Your patience during this process is appreciated.

3. Product Selection and Returns:
I'm sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with the returns based on the advertised pitch. I would like to assure you that we continuously evaluate and adjust our product selection strategies to enhance performance. We are open to further discussions on product selection to ensure alignment with your expectations.

4. Verification of Products:
We regret any oversight regarding the legal notice from a manufacturer's lawyer. We take such matters seriously and are actively reviewing our processes to ensure that all products listed on your store are verified and approved for resale. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us enhance our verification procedures.

5. Store Deactivation:
Your store deactivation is a temporary measure as part of Amazon's Q4 procedures, commonly known as the Q4 flush. As per our contractual agreement, we are committed to reactivating your store in the new year or replacing your business under the specified conditions. I understand the frustration caused by the deactivation, and we are actively working to get your account in good standing for a prompt resolution.

In conclusion, we value your partnership, and we are committed to addressing and resolving your concerns comprehensively. Please feel free to reach out directly if you have any further questions or if there are specific actions you would like us to take. You have an Account Manager, US based at your disposal

Sincerely,

Sarah
