Fantastic service

Fantastic service. Was kept up to date at every stage of the sale. Once completed, having the money transferred was simple and efficient.

This review is an attempt to get the Watchmaster team to stop spamming me. Once they stop I'll remove it.

I asked Watchmaster for a quote to sell my watch on their platform. I accepted it in the end and replied (Including the signed contract). Aaaand that's where the support stopped. I got no confirmation, no "ok this is what you need to do" etc.

However, they still keep spamming me to remind me of the quote. Each time I get one reply but I never get a response...

My watch is still for sale btw

Dear Jordi, many thanks for your honest review. Your account was unfortunately assigned to a colleague that has moved into an operational role and missed to monitor and pass on messages assigned into his name. My colleague Marcus will call you instantly.
I am once again sorry for this very unfortunate customer experience and do hope that we will still get a chance to sell your timepiece.
Sincerely,

Not a great customer experience...

Buying a watch was not a great experience at all. Having found the watch i had been tracking i decided to purchase it. After a short time the sale was completed and that was it, or so I thought. I got all the usual confirmation emails telling me the purchase has been successful. Then came the bombshell, that Watchmaster sell watches on 2 different platforms and that the watch they confirmed I had bought had, in fact, been sold to someone else from the other platform 2 minutes before my sale went through. So, the watch i thought I had bought, I hadn't. The Watchmaster representative, who rang me to give me the bad news, was very apologetic and said they had another watch very similar to the one i thought i had bought and that he would be able to do me a good deal to make up for the bad news he had called to give me. He then informed me he was going on his break and would call me back in an hours time. Six days later i am still waiting for that call. If this is how you treat customers I will not be looking to buy again from Watchmaster.

Dear Phillip,
I am really very sorry to hear of your experience and must firstly take this opportunity to apologise without reservation. I have discussed with the team involved the scenario at length with the team, and gone over the points at which we fell down. I know that Marcus has been in-touch in my absence last week, I have caught up with him, and have personally tailored a few options which I would appreciate the opportunity to talk through with you. Most importantly I would like to reiterate how sorry we are for how you have been treated and would like the opportunity to put this right. I have just tried to call and will try again, you can reach me on 0203511477.

Kind regards

Sold my watch through Watchmaster for a good price. However, the commission rates seem quite high along with the cost of ‘preparing’ my watch for sale. This included a polish, strap tightening and a standard charge. The total was over £700. This along with the commission was excessive.

Thank you

I had a customer service issue due to speaking to an inexperienced member of staff. I was then contacted by Tom who resolved the problem for me. I’ve bought a few watches from the company and never had a problem.

Very professional

I have just sold a Rolex through Watchmaster, and I found the process to be very professional and transparent. It took about 6 months to sell and I was advised of progress, and consulted about giving some discount.

Are you prepared to trust Watchmaster?

I bought a watch from Watchmaster that was advertised on their website and on Chrono24. I clicked the buy it button, but received an email a couple of days later stating it was already sold and that my sale was cancelled. I won’t trust them again and will buy elsewhere. There are enough honest sellers to choose from!
Edit added after reading Watchmaster’s response:
When using multiple sales channels there can be no excuse for not keeping your stock records up to date so that customer’s aren’t frustrated by your inaction. A cynical person might see your suggestion for me to get in touch to discuss purchasing an alternative watch as being the reason why you advertise unavailable watches for sale at low prices - as a hook to tempt customers to buy other, and no doubt more expensive ones.

Reply from Watchmaster.com

Dear Steve,

I am really sorry that we had to cancel your order as the time piece had already been sold through another channel. We try to maintain our platform as best we can, but also have to balance that with the benefit to our sellers who would like to maximise their reach. We list on 3rd Parties such as Chrono 24 to acheive that.
Sometimes this does result in a watch being ordered which is unavailable as a result of having been sold already. Please do call into our office on 02035100477 and one of our team would be happy to discuss an alternative or be sure to notify you as and when an another of the same watch comes available in our inventory.

I would like to apologise again personally for the frustration and hope that you will visit our site again in the coming future.

Kind regards

Sent them a watch to sell on their website. After it fell through on their website twice I tried to get it back and they said it would cost nearly £1,000 just to get it back ! they are trying to charge me £165 for "Repair and refurbishment" it's a brand new watch with original box and papers etc.

STAY WELL CLEAR !

Dear GavinM,

Unfortunately, whilst there are many benefits to working in the online space, such as reach, scale, and marketing, it must come with its draw backs. Customers frequently order with us and then decide not to go ahead. No fault of theirs, just the nature of working online. We choose to keep you informed of each expression of interest even if it doesn't go ahead. I am sorry you find that unsatisfactory.
I am equally sorry that you find our repair and cleaning charges to be unfair, the standard of the watches we ship is paramount to our success and whilst I am absolutely confident that we would only charge for cleaning polishing (and the resultant watch maker time) if it were 100% required, I would very much appreciate the opportunity to discuss the matter in person and be given the opportunity to put this right for you.

Please don't hesitate to reach out on +442035100477

Kind regards
