Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 2,413 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported issues with products not being as described, arriving damaged, or being counterfeit, leading to frustration and a sense of injustice. The customer service was frequently criticized for being non-existent, unhelpful, and often automated, making it difficult to resolve problems. People also experienced significant problems with refunds, with many stating they did not receive their money back for lost or damaged items, even with evidence. Furthermore, the website itself was a source of dissatisfaction, with users being banned for unclear reasons, often without proper communication or explanation. Delivery services were also a point of contention, with packages getting lost or delivered to incorrect addresses, and the platform often failing to take responsibility. Some reviewers also noted that despite providing clear evidence of authenticity or damage, the platform's support often sided with buyers or provided generic responses.

This app is a SCAM

I listed two things on day one, Louboutins and a pair of Hunter boots. And Vinted threw me through the wringer. It barely functioned as an app, nothing was working until I pulled up one of the THREE emails that told me the Hunter boots had sold to THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE that Vinted’s little support tab suggested that they needed all kinds of details to verify that I was a human so that I could get paid. I went back and forth with lots of canned responses- ‘human’ my a**. The entire time my gut is screaming at me to turn away but I feel some guilt to sort out whatever is happening with the buyers. At the very end of giving them all of my information, to include my SSN and Bank details (I’m an idiot) I get a text to authorize my purchase of $550 via some third party associated entity called Guardian. For the record to my knowledge I could find no online record of Vinted association with Guardian. So I bailed quickly. When asking the support bot about it I got another canned response that it wasn’t a charge merely a freeze. And when I asked why it would say “Authorize Purchase” if it wasn’t a purchase and if I could be sent to their contract page to read up on this- I got the only possibly-human response I had received all day. “I have other people waiting for my assistance.” So I bailed immediately. Credit accounts are now all frozen, debit card is shut down, and I had to make an account with the SSA to keep an eye on my card. F*** this app. I’m such an idiot.

Great site but poorly executed

Great site but poorly executed

I ordered children’s magazines, a black dress arrived. I reported the issue on 23/05 with photos, clearly showing the parcel is smaller than the magazines would be. They’d also see this in delivery confirmation.
6 days later I got a message demanding more photos but requesting they show certain details which were clearly visible in original photos. Messages state if I don’t within 48 hours it will be closed. Sent photos. Same massage but now asking for the full item outside packaging so i do this. Though message says they’ll immediately reply - they don’t. Still waiting. Seller claims they didn’t send the dress and the courrier messed up but if Vinted are investigating, they certainly aren’t telling me or the seller anything. Messages are threatening- always reply in 48 hours or we close it but they take a week to reply, only to ask for same info again. Clearly a delaying tactic to see if you’ll give up and let them keep the money. Chased up but no response at all. Nice site, lovely sellers, great idea but seriously let down by their inability to fix any issues. Didn’t get what I ordered and they’re no help at all. They say they’ll reply in 48 hours but not happening.

No seller protection

No seller protection. Buyers can lie with little to no evidence at all and sellers will not get paid. Vinted support is LAZY and often ghosts you if your problem is too “difficult” for them to solve and/or negative feedback. That is, if you’re lucky to get a response from a real human being.

Someone sold me a counterfeit item - 3 weeks, no refund, no resolution

I purchased a COS Black Leather Crossbody Bag from a seller on Vinted on 4th May 2026 for £50. When it arrived it was clearly counterfeit - listed as genuine leather but made from polyester and manufactured in China.

I raised a dispute on 13th May and provided every piece of evidence requested - photos of the item, packaging, shipping label, brand labels, and screenshots of an identical fraudulent listing still active on the platform. Vinted themselves confirmed the seller violated their community standards and took action against the account.

Despite this, three weeks later I still have no refund. Vinted gave the seller a 96 hour deadline to respond - ignored. They then gave a further 48 hour deadline on 27th May - also ignored. Every response I have received from support has been a generic copy-paste holding message with no substance.

I have now escalated via Resolver and reported to Trading Standards. The order remains suspended with my £50 still unresolved.

The buyer protection fee Vinted charge is presented as protection, in practice it has provided none.

If a seller is confirmed to have violated community standards and ignores every deadline set by Vinted's own team, the platform should issue a refund directly. Instead they leave buyers in limbo indefinitely.

I hope this review prompts a resolution. My username is louishellier.

Completely unfair seller treatment

I sold four valuable books in one carefully and securely packaged parcel. Two arrived in perfect condition, but two expensive books had damaged corners during shipping.

The damage was caused by the shipping company, not by me, as I sent everything in perfect condition. Vinted contacted me about the issue. I clearly explained that only the two damaged books should be affected, and that I should still be paid for the two undamaged items.

The case was handled entirely by automated AI responses with no real human review. My explanation was ignored and only generic template replies were given. In the end, I was not paid at all, even for the books that arrived in perfect condition.

Vinted customer support is extremely poor and ineffective in handling situations like this.

So I got scammed buying a fake Ralp…

So I got scammed buying a fake Ralp Lauren product that was supposed to be new, not only did not the customer service help despite photos and proof, but it seems that the individual/ small company in Poland works hand in hand with Vinted. It’s all inside job, and when I disputed the transaction with my bank, Vinted blocked my account and blackmailed me: if you want your account back cancel the dispute with your bank.

SO BE CAREFUL

Poor support

Poor support, basic Ai response on everything, but no real help. The "buyer protection fee" is only a "Vinted fee", but no buyer protection included...

Absolutely horrible user experience

Absolutely horrible user experience. Be aware if you're a seller on Vinted. I am extremely disappointed with Vinted's support. A buyer returned my shoes, but they arrived completely destroyed. I provided clear photographic evidence of the damage, but Vinted completely ignored it.

To make matters worse, I am unable to get a human agent to review my case. I am constantly being ignored and receiving only automated, generic responses from bots, which violates the right to a human review under the EU Digital Services Act.

I demanded a real human customer support agent to look into my case, review the photos, and issue my refund 3 times already! Buyer has her money back, I have just destroyed expensive shoes and 1 months of mental terror dealing with Vinted "support".

Be careful if you sell on Vinted and use other platforms instead.

0 stars.

As other reviewers I would give 0 stars if I could. There is absolutely no protection or rights for the seller. I sent a well packaged item with a straw, the straw was damaged and the buyer and I agreed to a partial refund. Vinted returned the full amount to her and she got to keep the item so I lost out on all counts. They cite their policy and terms as an excuse. Avoid at all costs, especially if you are sending valuable or pricey items. This is just the final straw in a long line of issues, pardon the pun!

Flagged my authentic item as counterfeit and banned my account

I am extremely disappointed with my experience on Vinted.

I created an account and listed a single item—an authentic Lululemon cropped hoodie from my personal wardrobe. This was my first and only listing on the platform. Shortly after listing the item, my account was permanently banned for alleged fraudulent activity and counterfeit goods.

The problem is that the item was genuine, and I have never sold counterfeit merchandise. No specific evidence was provided to support the accusation, and my account was permanently disabled before I had the opportunity to sell anything or establish any history on the platform.

As a legitimate seller, it is very concerning to be accused of fraudulent activity based on a single listing without a clear explanation or meaningful opportunity to address the issue. A permanent ban is an extreme action, especially for a new user with one personal item listed for sale.

I have requested a manual review because I believe my account was incorrectly flagged by an automated moderation system. I am simply asking for a fair review of the listing and a reasonable explanation of the decision.

Based on my experience, sellers should be aware that accounts may be permanently restricted without warning, even when listing authentic personal items.

I would like my account unbanned on principle, but this experience has made it clear that Vinted’s moderation system is deeply flawed. Permanently banning a user for “fraudulent activity” over a single authentic item from a personal closet, without proof, explanation, or any meaningful human review, is absurd. Accusing legitimate users of counterfeit activity based on what appears to be an automated system is irresponsible, damaging, and frankly embarrassing for a company of this size. The complete lack of transparency and competent customer support only makes the situation worse.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I’m a single mom selling items my daughter no longer wears, some new with tags. I never sold items before, registered with vinted and spent 3 hours listing my items. I got a couple of messages right away with offers. The next morning I checked my account to find I was banned. I am being accused of listing a fraudulent item, a kids dress that I’m selling for $12 that is not some big name brand. I’m so utterly perplexed by this. I appealed it to no avail. I’m honestly so upset I spend time on this for nothing.

Vinted facilitated refund fraud and permanently banned my account

Vinted have completely failed me as a seller and I am absolutely disgusted with how this has been handled.

A buyer with zero reviews, zero listings and zero history on the platform purchased an item from me and from the very beginning it was clear they intended to commit refund fraud. They claimed the item was fake citing spelling errors. When I asked them to show me where the spelling errors were they replied "yeah sure one second" and then immediately filed a dispute without ever showing me a single thing. They couldn't back up one claim they made.

The only photo they submitted as evidence was completely black. Pitch black. Showing absolutely nothing. This is a textbook refund scam and it was obvious from the very first message.

I provided Vinted with:
- An official order confirmation from the brand's own website proving I bought the item legitimately
- A video of me packaging the exact item before sending
- Full listing photos
- Screenshots of the chat proving the buyer could not identify a single spelling error when asked

Here is where it gets even worse. It took Vinted nearly 3 weeks to reply to me. They then gave me 48 hours to submit additional evidence. I submitted everything immediately. I then received an automated message saying they would take up to 120 hours to respond. So they give me 48 hours but take 120 hours themselves.

Despite all of this they sided with the buyer, refunded them and permanently banned my account. I have been on Vinted for years with 20 five star reviews and not a single complaint. A fraudulent buyer with zero history has walked away with both my item and a full refund while I have been banned from a platform I used for years.

Vinted never once explained why my official receipt from the brand's own website was dismissed as evidence. Every response was a generic copy paste. They facilitated fraud against an innocent seller and did not care.

Avoid selling on this platform. You are not protected. A scammer can take your item and your money and Vinted will help them do it.

1 star is too much for what they…

1 star is too much for what they actually deserve:
there is absolutely no involvement, nothing fair when things go wrong. We always pay 'protection' fee, but we aren't covered when needed.
I received 1 star feedback and could not be deleted because I bought something and seller didn't want to sell, and didn't also want to respond and my money were stuck in the middle. They didn't want to delete my undeserved bad feedback. While in other transaction, seller also didn't want to send, and kept my money for more than a month and vinted is doing absolutely nothing to help. I tried contacting them about 10 times, no luck.

Would probably give no stars if I…

Would probably give no stars if I could, what an awful experience selling on Vinted has been, sold one item and unfortunately I had a scummy buyer who lied about the condition of the item and also tried to claim it was damaged and believe he only did this to try and get extra discount from me but I requested a return which the buyer did not do so finally I get the money. So far it has been two weeks since I sold this item and today my money finally came through so requested a withdrawal which is going to take another week. When I sell on eBay I get my money if not same day it’s next day almost without fail. I’ll be deleting my account with Vinted as soon as this money hits my bank. If you want to sell stick with eBay or Facebook market place! Even getting up at 4 am and doing the local car boot is less hassle than Vinted. They give the buyer far too much power and all the scummy buyers know this, I was warned before I started I really wish I’d listened.

Out of three separate orders I made on…

Out of three separate orders I made on this site, they all were bad to say the least. My first order was never shipped by the seller so I was forced to cancel the order after 2 weeks. The second order, I got shipped the completely wrong order by the seller assuming they were trying to scam me and they wanted my ssn and for me to pay the shipping for a refund. And the third order got sent to a random address I never input into the delivery address.

Plague rat of online marketplaces

I can’t use Vendoo to list to it anymore so I am working on deleting all my listings. We need to be able to crosspost from eBay as it is the king and I am not manually making the listings again separately on Vinted which has barely any users. If eBay is king, Vinted is a plague rat. Your customer support is the worst I ever dealt with and that is not an exaggeration. I have zero confidence in Vinted support if I have an issue buying or selling on there. Be more like American marketplaces. We invented the internet and online marketplaces so we do it best. You are the only marketplace that doesn’t have the ability to print 4x6 labels. I sell true vintage shirts which often have faded graphics and your dumb bot flags it as a blurry photo and provides no way to dispute the claim. Vinted is such a joke. Our high schoolers are making better apps than this. Pathetic.

🔍 Missing persons report

🔍 Missing persons report : one bicycle helmet, size L, last seen somewhere in a French warehouse. The suspect was allegedly placed inside a locker the size of a letterbox. A letterbox. For a helmet. Someone at Vinted clearly believes helmets fold in half, or maybe I just don't understand physics. Spoiler : the locker was empty. The investigation opened with customer service was swiftly closed, following two hang-ups and an impressive ping-pong tournament between the seller and the carrier to determine who was the least responsible. Final score : money gone, helmet nowhere, and I'm out here riding bare-headed. Masterclass in customer service. ⭐
