Laser Eye Treatment was something I really wanted to explore even though I was not sure if it would work for me - once Mr Maurino had suggested it could, I was helped to understand the way in which it would be done, and managed to overcome my fears of the process - it has been three months and my quality of life has improved beyond what I though was realistic - thank you so much !

Somewhere I read that "he got it right every time" so I signed up for bi-lateral cataract surgery with Mr. Maurino at Moorfields. The result was perfect vision with no glasses despite corneal anomalies. He and his exceptional team provided all the help needed for a remarkable and stress-free experience. My gratitude to all of you is without compare.

I had LASEK eye surgery with Mr Maurino in January and it was the best decision I could make. I can now see perfectly without glasses. The service in the clinic and by Mr Maurino's team was great.

Did LASIK on both eyes, having myopia and astigmatism. Perfect vision achieved, after 20y of glasses and lenses, without any complications. Doctor and clinic were great, everything well explained before, after, and great care taken. Any worry or concern they are happy to check you in short notice, which was greatly appreciated. I had bilateral cataract surgery. The whole process from start to finish was superb. I was quite nervous beforehand but the surgical team were brilliant and reassuring and the procedure was really easy and completely painless and stress free. I do believe i might have briefly fallen asleep!

I would very highly recommend Mr Maurino who performed Lasik on one eye and cataract surgery on the other. The results exceeded my expectations and I am now free of glasses and contact lenses. All the staff were excellent, especially Andrew his practice manager who kept me informed from my initial enquiry through to my last appointment.

He performed bilateral cataract surgery with special lenses implanted in my eyes which is a complex procedure. At the age of 77 my eyesight had deteriorated considerably.

Everybody’s eyesight is extremely important to them but as a graphic designer it is especially so for me.

Mine is now fantastic! In particular, I can see to draw, use my computer and cook where previously I was constantly taking my glasses on and off.

Dr Maurino was an expert - vision absolutely perfect months after treatment with little pain and minimal dry eye. The hospital was exceptionally professional and the whole team superb. Would recommend

I had interocular lenses implanted privately, in 2014, by a nationwide provider, for vision correction. After a number of years, I experienced problems with misted vision and glare. This was diagnosed in spring 2023 by Moorfields as opacification of my IOLs, a known problem with what I'd had implanted, though news to me. Mr Maurino accepted me as a patient and the IOLs were exchanged in June 2023 and January 2024. I was described by one of his team at Moorfields as being "in a small cohort" - there are few IOL exchanges but many IOL implantations. Mr Maurino is a UK if not a world expert at the procedure. He successfully removed the existing IOLs without damage to the capsular bag, so the new IOLs could be implanted back into the bag. His skill and dexterity were of the very highest order. He was open and honest about the risks in his consultation beforehand but his manner and reputation reassured me that exchange was the right course of action. I now have 20/20 vision needing easy readers for close work only. My thanks to him and his team, though deeply felt, are inadequate when considering what he and Moorfields have given me back.

I’ve always believed in getting the best possible care for my vision, so when cataracts began to interfere with my day-to-day activities it was an obvious choice to choose Moorfields. I was very apprehensive about the procedure but Mr Maurino and his team were very supportive throughout. From the initial consultation to the procedure throughout it was obvious I was in the hands of professionals who knew exactly what they were doing: they were calm and efficient, yet had time to explain everything.
I had been reliant on spectacles or contact lenses due to myopia and astigmatism from the age of 8. I could not remember what it was like to wake up and see clearly. Now on waking I have to check that I am not still dreaming as I can see so well. I no longer need prescription spectacles. I cannot thank Mr Maurino and his staff enough, and I would recommend him and Moorfields without a second’s hesitation.

My first visit at Moorfields could not have been better. Mr Maurino was professional, would not carry out surgery until my blepharitis had cleared which he also treated and actually recommended the cheapest surgery available that he felt was best option for me.
I had Trans PRK laser surgery. The operation itself was better and quicker than I had envisaged, however the first couple of days following surgery were very painful which I was prepared for as Mr Maurino had discussed this prior to surgery. It was so worth it and my only regret is that I did not have surgery sooner! It surpassed my expectations
My vision now is fantastic although slight over correction on one eye means for computer and reading I need glasses but I can’t thank Mr Maurino and his team enough for giving me my sight back as have worn glasses since the age of 11.

I cannot praise Mr Maurino enough, he has genuinely saved my sanity. His care, professionalism, and skill are beyond reproach. He has corrected a previous lens problem (nothing whatsoever to do with him) with great skill. It was affecting my life. I recommend this man wholeheartedly!

From my first visit to the clinic it was very clear that Mr Maurino has a great team. The overall feel was one of calmness, efficiency and friendliness. Mr Maurino discussed my choices with me and was very clear. He helped me make my decision and explained what would happen during the surgery to treat my cataracts. I was anxious about my surgery but Mr Maurino and his staff were both kind and very reassuring explaining what they were doing at each stage. I had surgery for both eyes carried out a month apart which for me was a good decision. The results were totally amazing even after the first eye. Both eyes even better!

In July this year, Mr Maurino carried out LASIK in both of my eyes. The service that I received was very professional and thorough. Mr Maurino is a fantastic surgeon and I felt very cared for and in safe hands. After the surgery, I had two follow up consultations to ensure that everything was fine.
