I contacted the Smart Home Surveys for a snagging check for a new purchase. What I received is actually in the form of a level 2 check - very detailed, with lots of photos and explanations of not just what’s the issue currently, but what could become an issue in the future.

Surveyor Alex is really amazing and helpful. He meticulously checked the items and also explained very patiently to me on site, and walked me through the issues I should report to the developer. The 50 page report I received is of really high quality. This is not some other snagging reports which basically just listed some easy spotted issues without much context. With Alex and Smart Home Surveys, it really helps me understand the risks and to better communicate with the developer. I will surely reach out to them in the future for periodic surveys!

I have used smart home surveys twice. Both reports were detailed, helpful and captured the key issues. In both cases they recommended a level 2 rather than a level 3 since it was more appropriate for my needs (ie they didn’t try to rinse me for more money like some companies do!). I also had a short call each time to cover the key points and better understand the reports. In the first property I had surveyed SHS captured the critical issues with some of the build quality which led to further enquiries by my solicitor which uncovered further issues. They undoubtedly saved me a lot of money with their honest and unbiased assessment, and I have found a property I am much happier with as a result.

Excellent from start to finish. Fast lead time from booking to receiving the survey and regular updates. We were advised a level 2 survey would be fine for the property (rather than 3), reducing costs.

The quality of the report was excellent, and they answered all our follow up questions promptly and in an extremely helpful way. The inspection was carried out just a few days after booking it, and we got the report just a few days after.

My experience with the whole team was excellent - could not recommend Alex, Adam and the company highly enough. They were extremely responsive and fast to complete a survey I needed done quickly. Even though the survey was not particularly favourable for a property I'm purchasing, I can see they gave their expert opinion upon careful assessment of the unit as well as overall building. The follow-up call was equally informative and provided me with confidence going into my ongoing purchase process. Smart home surveys are reasonably priced compared to others I looked at in the market but their service and customer experience is top notch.
