Mould identified in my rice resulted in me throwing all my chicken dinner in the waste bin. £8 loss and still waiting after 2 months for my promised compensation.
Please avoid buying Veetee rice - so many quality issues that will affect your health!!!!

Huge piece of black mould in middle of the basmati rice - was in date and unopened, purchased from lidl that day. Tipped out the rice into my wok to see the disgusting sight.

I sent a complaint in on the 18th January put all the details and the photos with in the email. I got an email from Matthew Docker on the 31st Jan asking me for all the same details that I sent in my original email. I’m still waiting for a reply!!! The rice I received was mouldy and disgusting. I would never recommend this company and their customer service is so poor I’ll make sure I can broadcast this as far and wide as possible. I wouldn’t even give this a 1 star if it was possible!!!

One of the twin pack of rice had a big patch of grey furry mould on it photos supplied to Veetee - kind of surprised to see all the rest of these reviews with the same problem. I was told by MATT from Veetee
customer services - (shout out to you making promises you don’t fulfill MATT) that I would receive a six pack case of the basmati rice by way of apology, that was September 2023, this is January 2024…… still waiting MATT - what a dreadful company, would never buy this health-hazard product again, utterly disgraceful.

They said they would investigate but in the meantime they would like to send me a box of rice. I duly sent my address but have neither received anything or had a response since despite chasing twice.
Returned the offending item to my supplier who credited the cost of the box.
Will look for another supplier in the future.

This rice was fine when I ate it last year, however, I have an allergic reaction to two different types. At first I thought it was the garlic, lime herb, but now I am reacting to the jasmine basmati. This is horrible, they must have change some ingredients.

I ate a pack that says it's fine until september 2024...I nearly finished it and got to the last bit, thought it tasted really weird. Spat it out and there was grey. Inspected what remained and it was mushy and grey, assuming that was mould. Hopefully I don't get food poisoning from this. It's a shame because I really like this rice normally but eating a mouthful of sealed mouldy rice that isn't even supposed to be out of date yet is enough to put you off for life. Going to stick to boiled rice...

I usually really like this rice and the fact it comes with the split middle so you can have one portion at a time is great for me as a single person. However, on two separate occasions I've gone to microwave the rice to find some sort of mould in there.

I now carefully check each pack before buying but obviously it could be hidden in the middle and the thought is really off-putting. It's a huge shame because when in good condition, the rice is really good.

i emailed last time i had this happen to me so 3 emails all
different with pics all was mouldy and green and furry some packets all holes in them and some packets all damp and mashy and mould forming on top and all smelt kept a while awaiting to send back if they replied to show them but im 4 months on still no replies , not had no more sent and no compensation or refund and not even a sorry.
im a few boxes down because of this and wasnt able to even think about eating in this very poor condition what the hell is going on with this company and the customer seevice stinks !!!!!

So I could see through the sealed packaging a large black area within the rice,
Didnt use it, of course, so contacted Veetee by email, response back was very slow, days went by, and equally when they did answer were uninterested.
Offered to send a few free packets out to me, I refused and suggested a good idea would be to find out whats in the packet I have, could have been an insect or mould.
They agreed to send a courier, took a week to arrange, courier failed to show, arranged again and was collected, heard nothing from Veetee, chased them up several times, spoke to their team who arent at all concerned that people are buying their poor quality product.
Eventually sent a report to say its MOULD, it seems to them its normal, happens frequently due to tiny holes in the packaging.

Again manager offered more of the same possibly MOULDY rice, no compensation offered as in no money back for the rice I had bought and the packets thrown out in case they to were full of it to.

Clearly if you like a touch of MOULD mixed in with your rice, then this is for you,
Otherwise stay away as they admit it happens and will continue to do so.

Disgusting company to complain to becase they are not at all interested.
Cant imagine how many people dont spot it before its microwaved and end up eating it.

They are quite muddy and after cooking rice looks and tastes unfresh and old

Dangerous to your health the rice was mouldy I haven’t seen anything like it. It was at the bottom of the packet so had no idea and it will have contaminated the rest of the pack which we had eaten. I had only placed the order in February order number #6325. While they have sent out a replacement pack I haven’t heard why this had happened despite chasing them twice and them saying they would be in touch within 7 days to give me an explanation. I am left feeling like they don’t care.

I have had a couple of direct orders from them and the rice is really good. The most recent order had a problem with the delivery (not their fault) and I had a very quick response to my email to customer services and more rice sent out immediately before the issue was even resloved. Can't fault them - will order again.

I ordered directly from Veetee to save money rather than ordering from tesco, the rice I received was mostly rock hard and in 4 tubs the rice had gone black. After contacting them their response was slow, eventually they called me and refunded me but honestly what I saw has put me off rice for life :-( When I first tried Veetee rice it became my favourite pre-cooked packet rice but thanks to this company I'll never use packet rice again.

I find the microwave rice tastes of plastic after heating. Plus you can’t rip the pots apart if you only want to heat one at a time.

I wanted to buy some of their rice online but I could not do so, although the product did show up on the website, I could not put it into the basket or buy it. I therefore used the 'contact us' form to say so, but they could not even be bothered to respond. So, no customer service whatsoever.
