The product is as expected

The product is as expected. But there is a problem with customer service (as some other people have noted). Having said this, I do not mean that the customer service is "bad". More likely, this guy is overwhelmed by a lot of people like myself who must go to him instead of looking at a *detailed* user manual, which is nowhere to be found. I took to Chat GPT. Sometimes helps but sometimes not.

Very friendly and helpfull

My display was giving 100% battery, even when it was almost empty. I contacted them and within 24 hours I had a reaction.
They looked with me what they problem could be and have send me a more expensive display without any extra costs.

Great service and very friendly.

Don't understand the good reviews

Don't understand the good reviews. Broke after only one year. Now I think they sell fake stuff.

Company actually gives very bad service. Bought two bike engines. One broke after only one year so started an issue. Had to do everything they asked to check for the problem. Video's, foto's etc. When nothing worked and proved the engine was broken, they did not respond anymore leaving me with shit.

Good price, quick delivery, helpful support

I ordered a Bafang BBS01 kit from Varstrom, which arrived timely and was offered at a great price. The product works just as intended and when I needed help with setting up the display, Varstrom support replied with a solution within one business day. Great experience, would buy again!

I have a great experience with Varstrom

I have a great experience with Varstrom. I recently bought a motor and battery. I first went on Alibaba to try and get the cheapest as possible, I looked at many different sellers. It turns out that Varstrom apply roughly the same price. But with a massive lot of benefits. You don't have to wait for ages for the shipping as they have stocks in Europe (and America I think?), so I got it delivered in 3 days! A 10 days free return if you change your mind, a 1 + 2 years Warranty, and an excellent great customer support. I changed my mind about some parts, they changed them for free, then they gave me a great technical support when I had any questions. So, about 10 or 20 euros extra for all this customer sevice and Warranty, compared to buying it directly from an unknown seller in China, it's a no-brainer. It's really nice , knowing you won't be let down if any component fails one day, for 3 years...

Service après-vente inacceptable

J'ai acheté un moteur Tongsheng TSDZ8 (Order #VS2918) en avril 2025 directement sur le site de Varstrom.
J'ai tout de suite eu 2 erreurs affichées sur le compteur de vitesse (erreurs 18 et 30). Le service technique m'a demandé de débranché / rebranché les câbles. Malgré plusieurs essais, les erreurs sont toujours là.
Ils m'ont répondu qu'il fallait faire avec les erreurs !! C'est INACCEPTABLE !! Le compteur de vitesse affiche des vitesses erronées et ne me permet pas d'utiliser le moteur...
Malgré mes relances, je suis sans nouvelle de la part du service après vente depuis plus d'un mois. Il m'est impossible d'utiliser le moteur que j'ai acheté.
Je DECONSEILLE vivement d'acheter sur Varstrom car le service après vente est INEXISTANT.
Aucune garantie ou produit de remplacement ne m'a été proposé par le service après vente !!

I purchased a Tongsheng TSDZ8 motor (Order #VS2918) in April 2025 directly from the Varstrom website.
I immediately received two errors on the display (errors 18 and 30). Technical support asked me to disconnect and reconnect the cables. Despite several attempts, the errors are still there.
They told me that I had to deal with the errors!! This is UNACCEPTABLE!! The displays incorrect speeds and won't let me use the motor...
Despite my reminders, I haven't heard from customer service for over a month. I can't use the motor I purchased.
I strongly advise against purchasing from Varstrom because customer service is NON-EXISTENT.
Customer service has not offered me any warranty or replacement product!!

All great after initial teething problems

Delivery was super quick to the UK, within 2 days from UK stock! Shame they sent the wrong wheel though… (500w rear hub instead of front hub). However after some initial issues trying to contact them (their WhatsApp number on the main page was saying invalid due to a single digit typo, so tried email but was getting no response for 4 days over the weekend). The good news is that once I found the correct WhatsApp number in the Contact Us page, response time was super quick and they sent out the correct wheel without delay for next day delivery, and they covered the return postage for the wrong wheel.

Zero customer support from the…

Zero customer support from the manufacturer or their supplier when you have issues. Simply ignore messages. So if you have an issue good luck you are on your own. The displays and controllers have very limited configuration if you want to change any settings. In example you cannot change the speedometer settings when it does not read the amount of motor magnets correctly.

Received TSDZ8 2 e-bike kits from…

Received TSDZ8 2 e-bike kits from Varstrom. One kit came with a complete order. The other one had a wrong display model. The working kit works very well. Very quiet, great torque. I reached out to company on WHATSAPP and they arranged to send me a replacement display and I will send the wrong one back to them. I would give a 5 out of 5 if my order was fully correct. I’m hoping to get the display soon and I’ll update the review.

Terrible service

Terrible, items marked as available and shipped within 8 days, all of a sudden go out of stock, replacement solutions are then also out of stock and you find yourself much later than 8 days none the wiser if you will get your item or even a refund when cancelling (asked but not received)

Very poor service

Very poor service. I ordered two sets with two additional displays. When the shipment arrived, one display was missing and I immediately wrote to the company. A month later, I still haven't received the display. When they take the money, everything is fine, when there is a problem created by them, you can't find it, they don't respond or respond but don't do anything

A very satisfying purchase.

When spending this kind of money online, one always has concerns. At each stage, Varstrom proved to be trustworthy and competent. All questions received a timely response and communicated attentiveness to the customer. The delivery time was well within the promised limits. The package arrived in very good condition and the bicycle was very nicely protected and secure. Assembly required was really the minimum one could expect. The reward for all this concern and effort is a formidable vehicle that satisfies on all the important levels. The comfort is incredible. The power is ample without being brutal. It handles very well. The gear development is close to perfect. Nothing feels or looks "cheap". It must be noted (and this is not a negative comment) that it is a very big bicycle and quite heavy. It is not at all for small riders. Overall, the closest thing to a criticism one could make is on the order of documentation. There is almost nothing instructive in the supplied manual about assembly or maintenance. Only an experienced mechanic should prepare this vehicle for the road. With that in mind, I thoroughly recommend Varstrom and the New Cola Bear (where did they get that name?) 2.0. It is very much worth more than the money.

Poor customer service.

I ordered an ebike conversion kit and it arrived incomplete. I emailed Varstrom about the missing items and the representative was defensive and unhelpful. It frequently took more than a day to respond to and email and took nine days to get them to send the missing items. I had to repeat myself and send pictures multiple times. The whole interaction was just frustrating and unprofessional.
