PreAction are now hunting for…

OK PreAction are now hunting for customers of the Great Annual Savings Group who are in administration ( how unusual). They are trying new tactics now as previously the breach Civil Procedure rules. They sent out a Court claim form N.1 without sending a "letter before claim". But the usual rles apply. send them an email saying you will not accept emails or telephone calls, that you will only respond to written correspondence. Then immediately block their email address and telephone number. they will try to use different ones but block those also.
If they are representing GASG via FRP via PA then check that the LOA has the notification to read the T&C's online.

This is one big scam and FRP and…

This is one big scam and FRP and Preaction are guilty by association. You will find that your Letter of Authority has no Terms and Conditions contained within it nor any reference to a website containing them. It is only when you get documentation from Preaction that you are informed of the website. Therefore under "The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002" they were required to "Provide the customer with the ability to print and store a copy of their terms and conditions" therefore any LOA/ Contract you signed is not actionable. tell them to take you to court and then send them a Cease and Desist letter.

I’m in the same boat here being chased for nearly 5k, after being lied to by UA about getting me the best price for our energy. Once I called them out in this I was told as this contract hadn’t gone live I was free to move to another company with a better price I’d found myself. I did ask for confirmation of this in an email but was told as all calls were recorded this was all ok. I did pester for an email but it never arrived then they went out of business. It was a huge shock to get the demands from PreAction a couple of years later.

Utility Alliance scammers

Utility Alliance were as dodgy as they come and rightly went bust.
However, a debt collecting firm called PREACTION are now trying to bully people into paying compensation for contracts purportedly agreed with UA.
PREACTION are as dodgy as UA and ignoring evidence from the energy supplier to say the customer has done nothing wrong. The fault was with UA, yet they are now demanding about £6.5k for UA's error.
I am now bypassing PREACTION and have gone direct to the Administrators - FRP Advisory Teesside who said they look into every case on a case by case basis.
If you want an email address and to bypass these other clowns, directly email - will.keates at symbol frpadvisory.com.
Good luck!

Threatened with Court

I used Utility Alliance to change electricity supplier 4 years ago, the contract never went live, I chased and was told they were 'sorting it' still nothing chased again, no reply. Now being threatened with court for £23,000 for a supply I did not receive from a company that did not fulfil their side of the agreement. Has anybody been taken to court yet? Thanks

They are chasing me for 23k but will accept 12k if I pay tomorrow. Seeking legal advice. Seems odd to me someone can charge me for supposedly cheaper electric when they were not cheaper. Anyone gone to court yet?

Scare tactics, no legal claim

This company has threatened legal action against my Mother-in-law who would've paid an extortionate amount due to being scared and losing sleep worried sick. Do not pay these crooks! They have not got a legal leg to stand on and we will see them in court and when we beat them I will come back here so others will have the courage to do so too. If you've been successful in court against this company please speak up for everyone else in a similar situation

What a disgraceful bunch of scammers, we have been chased constantly by PreAction for over £7k for a contract we never even had with Utility Alliance in 2020 threatening court action, now I have seen all other comments we are just glad we didn't get fooled into paying them!!!

Sold our family business in early 2020. They have ignored that and keep threatening me with court action unless I pay up immediately for their lost commission. Bad people and should be investigated!!!!

Being harassed like everyone else for commission of £41,300 what an absolute joke and I’ve even proved the signature on the letter of authority has been Forged, I had an agent called John and I know for a fact he was into some very dodgy dealings! I have also said I’m happy to see them in court because they will not be getting a penny off me. I even sold the property in 2019 for god sake! Complete scammers

WOW - we are all in the same boat! PreAction for Utility Alliance .

WOW, I am not 'glad' but glad to see I am not the only one going through this with PreAction and UA. I have been hounded by PreAction since November 2021 regarding a contract (that never happened) with UA in October 2016! I was initially scared/worried and lost sleep over the amount chasing (£18k), I passed everything on to my solicitor who passed on to the Sheriff Court, no response from PreAction/UA. It's an absolute joke. In 40 years of business, we have never come across this nonsense, but has highlighted us to be more cautious (and frankly horrible to any broker who now calls our factory). The woman I dealt with at PreAction wasn't there to act as a go between, she was there to scare and threaten. It pains me to think how many people will have paid these ridiculous claims out of fear. Have a good look at their employs/Directors online and you will see a pattern. Absolutely disgusting. Do not pay these people.

I too are being hounded by PreAction…

I too are being hounded by PreAction over utilities that did NOT get transferred to British Gas 3 and a half years ago !! A call out of the blue to say I owed them money / commission buy not going with British Gas more than 3 years ago. If I paid it that day they would reduce the amount. I had never heard of this company and told them to go through an email till I have time to check out what they are going on about. They did this, but something wasnt quite right, so I had to prove from 3 years previously that I didnt move to British Gas, and send a welcome pack, first bills, first paymets etc, never heard another thing from them....... till now, 6 months later, and they are on again about sending them money ! Personally I have told them I will quite happily see them in court as it will cost them more than they will ever get out of this. My solicitor has told me to tell them to **** off, and not to give them a penny. This almost feels like harassment from a company who gains commission from scamming money out of customers.
