First up, the price is unbeatable. I rented a car in Montenegro from a Friday to a Monday for £16. Collection was from ostensibly a mechanic's workshop, wrecks everywhere. The car itself was fine, but 58,000 km on the clock and it was quite scuffed up. I spent a few moments walking around the car filming every single scuff and bump, cracked faring etc. The ever dodgy "Like for like" fuel policy means you'll always return with more fuel than you left with, and on collection my car was one notch above empty. There is a hefty deposit of about £1300, or you can pay about £40 per day to waive the excess. Upon return, there seemed to be chaos, and the staff member pointed out a dent not on the paperwork, and seemed keen for me to sign on a device. I'm not sure how this situation would have progressed if I hadn't shown him the video I'd shot on collection of the dent clearly visible. He let that go pretty quickly, but took a long time to find the card machine to refund my deposit. The amount of historic damage on the car would suggest that they happily charge for damage without actually fixing it. Lastly, despite booking with USave, the rental agreement came through from GreenMotion, who are an excluded company on my third-party excess insurance, so that could have been a problem. TLDR: Cheap, basically GreenMotion, the cars can be shabby, a large deposit, cover yourself with comprehensive video evidence of even the slightest damage before you leave the lot.

shocking customer service, still waiting for the refund off my deposit. Probably 20 emails sent without response from local staff

Although the office and garage are a few km's away from the airport we found the driver waiting to pick us up near arrivals and drive us there. It was actually easier than picking the car up from the slightly confusing airport car park.
The staff were friendly and spoke English.
Highly recommended.

Warning: beware of scammers at Tetouan Airport. The company is called U-save/greenmotion car-rent
They try to force you, upon arrival, to take out an insurance policy so they can earn an extra 150 euros. If you already have insurance, such as full coverage like I did, they still try to convince you with nonsense stories. Do not fall for it.
Do not let yourself get scammed. Report it immediately to the police and to the agency you booked through, and do not allow them to take advantage of you.
If you refuse, they will create an “error” when you try to pay the deposit, in order to push you into paying with your debit card and charging you a double deposit. Do not fall for that either. If that does not work, the final tactic is to refuse you by claiming that the name on your credit card is not written correctly in full.
What a shame that this criminal company is damaging Morocco’s reputation. So many tourists ended up paying the 150 euros on top of their rental costs and insurance.
I am deeply ashamed of these thieves.

Complete waste of time and money – stay away
This was, without exaggeration, the worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company.
First of all, their location is far from the airport, which is highly inconvenient and poorly communicated. Then, despite booking an SUV, I was offered a completely different car — a Fiat Panda — at the exact same price. This alone is unacceptable.
What made the situation even worse was the condition of the vehicle. The car was filthy, with wet and dirty seats, as if it had been left in the rain. It was clearly not fit for use.
When I refused to accept such a car, the staff showed zero interest in resolving the issue. No alternative, no immediate solution — just a blunt suggestion to call a taxi and go back to the airport, which is about 15 minutes away.
This level of service is beyond unprofessional and shows a complete lack of respect for customers.
I will never use this company again, and I will be reporting this experience further. I strongly advise anyone to stay away unless you want to risk starting your trip in the worst possible way.

I never plan on renting from U-Save again . 1) if you book through travel sites like Expedia there is no adequate understanding to their policies which feel more like a nickel and dime organization. If you pay for a rental in advance and there are no cars when you arrive goodluck with getting a refund it is all on you. 2) in the case of the Houston rental location it is said to be “At” the airport. A 30+minute shuttle ride after waiting for a shuttle for 40 minutes is not what I would call at the airport. 3) you must validate your personal insurance ahead of time. Get ready for a frustrating experience if you do not have access to your personal insurance web portal and password. If you do not they can validate your insurance with a copy of your insurance card for a fee or you can buy their insurance for even more of a fee but you will at least spend less time. 4) you have to buy their unlimited toll package for a fee or if you accidentally find yourself on a toll road it will cost you $28 per toll regardless of the cost of the toll and regardless of you paying the toll 5) don’t consider reservations of a car or prepaying for a car to mean anything. They will rent your car to whomever shows is before you and then just say sorry. It doesn’t matter if you waste part of your 2 day trip to figure it out. Ultimately, they found me a car but I watched them tell a person to get back on the shuttle because I received the last car. He paid ahead of time from Priceline but they were of little help. Supposedly they save you money but saving time…not exactly.

The staff was very helpful and the care was beautiful, clean. And at the end of the hire it was very easy to check-out. The distance from the airport was easy to find and walk.
We were very satisfied with this car-rent opportunity.

I had a genuinely awful experience with U-Save in the UK.
I was quoted £200 for a 10-day rental and full insurance , which seemed reasonable. But at collection, I was hit with a £3000 deposit. The only way to reduce that was to take their insurance at around £70 per day, which is more than the cost of the car itself. They said the one i got during booking is third party and they do not accept.
They also charge extra just to get unlimited mileage, which feels completely unreasonable. It’s another add-on that isn’t clearly highlighted upfront, and it quickly turns what looks like a cheap deal into something far more expensive.
What’s most frustrating is how all of this is presented. The key details are buried in the terms and conditions or hidden behind a small link that’s easy to miss when booking. It’s not clear, not upfront, and not intuitive.
This feels like a setup to push customers into buying their insurance at the desk. That’s not transparent or honest pricing.
Practices like this need proper scrutiny. A corporate watchdog should be looking into this as a matter of urgency.
And it reflects badly on Booking.com for hosting listings like this.
AVOID.

Usave asked me to explain my experience and complain as they say I shouldn't pay for a service I haven't received.
Unfortunately as my booking has gone through a third party they just said they can't process a refund. I asked if they could to the third party but they didn't reply to my email.

you ask me to be honest, but your company is the most unfair that i have experience in 40 years.i rented a car frome manchester airport. i was just handed over the key,and had to find myself car in the garage.Because of hurry did not check the car on demage. on my way back one of the employee showed me 3 smallest scratches on the rims, not even 1 centimeter. first of all i am 100 % sure its not caused by me, secondly they charge me 747 pounds. they offer the car very cheap, when you bring the car back they charge 5 times extra. i will never recomand somebody to rent by U-save and neither will i do again. By U-save is renting cheap is renting expensive.

Booked a car for a holiday in Italy, but after reading all the negative reviews I emailed them to make sure which documents they need for the rental.
Turned out they don’t accept credit card with initials + full surname, only with full names. Well, in NL that’s not possible and therefore I had to cancel my booking because they would not accept my credit card, although my initials correspondent clearly to the names in my passport and driving license. Glad I double checked!
I have rented cars in many countries and never experiences something like this…
