Replacement GPU Parts

After contacting MSI to enquire about some replacement fans for my RX 580 , I was very surprised about how easy the customer service was to deal with.

My issue was resolved without prejudice, within a few days.

Ender you really made my experience and trust in MSI 100% (not that it wasn't before), also saved me from a terrible OME part replacement!

The silent breeze leaving my fan blades will forever be knows as the “enders whisper”.

Business class laptop defective after less than 6 months and MSI won't do anything about it

I bought MSI Modern 15 Black A10M laptop which had a premium price tag. I was overall happy with it but the paint coating from the buttons started coming off in less than 6 months, it looks very bad - letters can't be seen. I reached out to MSI support about this serious design/quality flaw but they said that they won't do anything about it as it's normal wear while IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL and I have never seen such bad wear in my life even on laptops that cost half of the price. They won't even send a free replacement keyboard. I had a good impression of MSI but now it's ruined. I plan to share my experience on social media and post some reviews where I can.

Great Customer Service

Ender at MSI UK saw a post I had made online regarding a replacement part for my MSI GPU and reached out to me.

I'd enquired with local support and retailers, as well as elsewhere on the internet, and had just about given up hope. Enter MSI UK! Despite me being located internationally, Ender went above and beyond and within a day or two I had a tracking number for the replacement part, no questions asked.

Knowing there are people like Ender taking care of customers definitely makes me glad I chose MSI. Something that was potentially going to be a large headache has turned into a pretty painless and even positive experience, all thanks to the great service!

What a terrible experience

First time i bought their product and it is a gaming laptop and started regretting it from a week later as the keyboard down arrow key fell off. Then the mic stopped working. Argos refused to take it back and directed me to MSI who collected on the 3rd of December 2021 and today is 10th January and it is still with the repair tech. MSI refused to put the key on the laptop and classed as user causing damage. I am 48 year old and i know how to look after a computer. Anyway i had to pay 50 pounds for a broken key and i don't know when i will have my Laptop back. All i want to say is that this company is trash and you should consider dealing with a company that looks after its customers. I will never buy MSI products again.

X570 Tomahawk Mag Wifi - Junk.

Junk.

I have not owned an MSI board for many years, was building a new rig october 2020 and after much painstaking research I stumped £210 for the X570 tomahawk Mag Wifi.

Within about two months the PCI-E release latch snapped off, sure they reinforced the socket but the latch itself is made of a chintzy slender bit of cheap plaster on a plastic pin so dainty a sneeze would fracture it. I have been building computers for three decades, I am not heavy handed nor a novice.

7 months in and my wifi started playing up, one of the antennae sockets on the board is actually lose, nothing to do with me as it is an internally mounted piece with presumably a concealed locking nut behind it and it is in a hex socket so it can't twizzle round, yet despite that and despite me not touching the wifi aerials since installing them months prior, the concealed locking nut has obviously vibrated itself lose over time, showing real poor quality control at the factory, a problem that could have been avoided for the sake of a washer or a drip of glue, would now require me disassembling my entire PC and stripping the heatsinks off the board to get to the nut to tighten it, totally pathetic.

And now today, 13 months in, and my bluetooth receiver has failed entirely.

So my advice, don't buy MSI unless it's one of their cheap boards that you don't mind scrapping if it cocks up as god knows with the corners that seem to have been cut, you are not getting value for money compared to the competition, I should have gone with Asus Tuf.

Never again MSI, never again.

Neglect and Homophobic (?)

I contacted MSI support within a week to quote a replacement for some parts of my broken laptop and support told me the parts would be exchanged at no additional cost, I would only need to pay the shipping and labor cost.

The following week, last Wednesday (11/24), I decided to join the service and then I placed the support order, they told me that I would be charged for the parts and gave me 24 hours for support to get in touch.

Until Monday (11/30) they hadn't made contact yet. I called support to find out what was going on and they asked me for another 24 hours. So on Tuesday they didn't get in touch and I had to call again and they scheduled the collection of my laptop for Wednesday.

On Wednesday (12/01), noon, the courrier (DPD) called me asking where my house was (?) and after explaining he still didn't realize where it was I asked him where he was and my husband would meet him.

When the boy heard the word husband and realized that it was a question of homosexual clients, he said that he would not have time because he was in a "rush" and that he would return in an hour for collection.

It's been 5 hours and no news. I had to call the carrier who promised me the collection in 1 hour, which didn't happen. So I got in touch again and they rescheduled the collection for today (12/2).

Today, a new driver came to collect, that also didn't know where it was the address and I had to spend a lot of time on the phone with support and he came back but he was super grumpy and handled the service without a minimum of respect and professionalism.

Now my laptop will spend 15+ days in maintenance that I will be charged for the parts and I can only pray to have my entire device back.

I really wanted to love my MSI laptop

After receiving two defect MSI Stealth 15M laptops in a row, I just couldn't do it anymore. I really wanted to love the laptop but the quality control and MSI UK's customer support just made it very difficult to do so.

My first unit came with a severe flicking screen on arrival and after 7 hours of troubleshooting it by myself to exclude any software related issues, I could only conclude it to be a hardware fault and I returned it the same day. Shout out to Currys for a swift replacement.

My second unit of the same model arrived and I updated all the drivers recommended on the official MSI website for my specific model - including the BIOS update, also recommended. This, however, "bricked" my unit and it would no longer turn on.

I requested a repair from UK MSI to which they said it would get picked up tomorrow, except "tomorrow" never happened, and I called in with the request for repair 4 days in a row, when someone finally came to pick it up by the end of the week.

Long story longer, after another week at the Tech Repair, my unit returned fixed and could boot but now it had a hot pixel on the screen that was just constantly white. I just couldn't do it anymore. Such a lovely machine but for such a price, I'd never expect this much of a hassle. I rarely have tech issues with anything I buy and I can usually troubleshoot the issues myself, so this was a first time. UK MSI website is also a mess in terms of finding what you need.

Shout out to Currys for helping me both times.

It was my favorite IT company

It was my company of choice for technology, with 4 laptops bought from MSI until this year, when I buy a GP76 Leopard laptop, it comes with battery problems, completely locks up in any kind of game.
The assistance does not give me a chance to choose to change the machine nor paying the difference for the other better, since this one does not meet the requirements.
It goes to repair, comes badly assembled, with a physical damage and not even an apology.
The solution they give me is to lose weeks again waiting for the pc to go under warranty again.
Terrible MSI, to save a few euros, you lost all possibility that I or someone in my network will buy even a MSI cable ever again.

Distracting LED on a GM08.

I just hate the distracting LED on the mouse I bought, a GM08 and it does not turn off! On the positive side, at least it is better than a trackpad.

Very satisfied customer

My retailer unfairly declined warranty for my RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio, I contacted MSI and luckily Mr. Yildiz responded to me, i have sent pictures and info about the malfunction and sent the card to service. Since then it all went super fast, got my card fixed in a few days. TBH i lost a little faith in MSI after retailer unfairly declined warranty but now there is no doubt i was and will be buying MSI products in the future as long there is honest customer support like MSI has in Mr. Yildiz.

Optix MAG251RX - Shipped with US plug

Purchased the MAG251RX gaming monitor via Newegg. It shipped from the US, but it also came with a US plug - no good for us Brits! Technical support were very helpful, with prompt response. Sending out a replacement power lead (C5 cloverleaf, with UK 3 pin plug). Great service, MSI.

GPU card works fine, but RGB buggy and annoying

I purchased the MSI Geforce 3070Ti Suprim X 8Gb GPU card as part of a new custom PC build.

There are two things to consider when buying a third party GPU card; the GPU itself, and the individual features and software. As a 3070Ti this card delivers what you’d expect; games run great, and I can run Folding@Home without the GPU temperature exceeding 70°C or the fans getting loud, so the oversize air cooler works well (considering it takes up 2.5 slots and is long enough to cover the SSD bays in my mid tower case, it ought to be).

But for the extras, this card is problematic. I’m talking about the RGB. If you care about your RGB features, two tips :

1. Make sure all your components are compatible, and

2. From what I’ve experienced for the first few weeks of owning this new PC, don’t buy MSI.

The MSI Center app is slow and unreliable; it has options to add and remove features/ other apps within it, including Mystic Light to control the RGB strip on the card, but it’s just doesn’t work well enough. It only sometimes opens this feature when you click on it, other times it just does nothing. You can try to uninstall and reinstall and so on, but that progress bar just hangs. So you exit the main app, and it warns you not to interfere in case you prevent the uninstaller working, after like two hours. This is 2021, software should not be acting like it’s coming off floppy discs in 1994.

I have an ASUS mobo & LED strip, and Corsair RAM & mouse, and their software/plugins all work together so you can drive the whole RGB display with one app. It just works. The RGB strip on this MSI card sticks out like a sore thumb because the app is useless.

I also tried Jacknet RGB Sync which is an open freeware app to control different RGB devices using a unified system and plugins/SDKs - but the MSI card only works with this when logged in as Admin (the ‘run as admin’ function doesn’t work), and they recommend using MSI’s Dragon Center app which doesn’t detect the RGB on this card at all.

If there was a dip switch to physically turn the RGB off, I’d use it. MSI need to fix their broken app, and/or provide plugins to allow the RGB to run with the better apps from ASUS and Corsair like those other providers have already done.

*edit after MSI reply*

At MSI’s suggestion, I contacted their UK support email. They responded to say actually they don’t cover this, but try raising a ticket with the central website, so I did that. The suggestions from this were:

1. Reinstall the GPU driver.
2. Reinstall Windows 10.
3. Try putting the GPU in another PC.

How’s that for a sliding scale of What The Dickens?

I will try the first of these three steps, but considering the PC is only 3 weeks old and is a brand new install and had the latest drivers installed *only*, I’m not holding my breath.

This is a brand new PC worth thousands, and the GPU is the most expensive part in it. If the best you can manage is ‘try reinstalling your entire OS’, sorry that’s pathetic. Your software sucks, end of story.

Really Upset, no help getting my order sorted for an important rig

I've ordered a product through Amazon and I've been waiting almost two months now, for some kind of update. This part is very important but I cannot get contact with any one from MSI (Amazon cannot help me either). I'm not impressed with this customer service and right now, I cannot recommend anyone else to use this company - I'd say avoid them if you actually want your part to be delivered. MSI make it impossible for you to open a conversation with them, any questions I ask on Amazon seem to be simply deleted. This is not a good representation of a business and it's clear why other consumers have gone elsewhere. The item I have purchased from Amazon has just 5 reviews, the most recent being December 2020 as far as I can see.

I really need help but it just seems I have been abandoned. Its not the company it used to be.

Dear Benedict,

I am sorry to hear your experience on Amazon. As MSI do not sell directly to consumers in the UK, I believe it will be an individual seller that sell MSI products (or sold by Amazon). It will be the best to contact the seller directly or contact Amazon customer service for any disputes. If you still experience issues, please kindly send us a screenshot of the Amazon order invoice (it should have the seller's name) to ukdps@msi.com, we will try our best and see if we could get you some suggestions or support. Thank you.
