Not as they used to be

I have been shopping with DE for years, in store and online, however the service and quality of items seems to be decreasing. I visited the Birmingham store twice in two weeks and was told completely conflicting information almost wasting our journey (we live 3 hours away). The items I have purchased online have NOT reflected the quality they list, the Marc Jacobs Stam Bag arrived with a faulty clasp but was listed as good condition, yet it wouldn't even close! I have had whatsapp conversations over a Chanel piece that clearly has a hole in the front, you could see it in the photo, yet listed as excellent quality?! They stated they would fix this, yet the item sat online unchanged till sold. I used to recommend DE a lot, now I don't feel comfortable doing so. Store staff often have an attitude, the items listed are always higher quality than they are in person, faulty items slip through time and time again! I used to check DE every week, now I don't feel comfortable shopping with them as I just know its going to be a headache or an issue, with attitude from whomever I speak with.

I rarely leave negative reviews

I rarely leave negative reviews, however my experience with Design Exchange was exceptionally disappointing from beginning to end.

I initially attended the store for an in-person evaluation of items I wished to sell, during which I was required to wait approximately three hours. Following this, I was informed that a secondary evaluation would be conducted. What followed was four weeks of chasing updates, with very limited communication, little transparency, and no clear timeframe provided.

When I finally received the revised offer, the prices proposed were, in my opinion, entirely unreasonable and significantly below expectations. To add to the frustration, I was then instructed to drive a further two hours to collect my items within a restricted timeframe.

The entire experience was deeply unprofessional and extremely time-consuming. The lack of communication, inefficiency of the process, and disregard for the customer’s time made this one of the worst retail experiences I have encountered.

Unfortunately, I would not consider using this business again and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

As we are currently facing a high influx of items for authentication, we've been facing delays, which are communicated on our website as well. We have also ensured the timelines are shared with you when contacted via email.

As per policy, we return the items in the same manner received. If they're posted to us, only then do we return them via post. Which is why we offer our customers an option to get a preliminary quote online and then post it to avoid the hassle to travel in case the store is not near. We have shared the same via email, and hope this information was helpful.

Exactly as shown in the pictures…

The shoes were as shown in the pictures and probably in better condition than the description. Included box and dust bags and arrived promptly. Would recommend and worth the price.

As described beautiful Fendi scarf

Ordered a Fendi scarf in which was said to be in great condition and this was very true. A lovely piece. It was my first order, and this has given me the confidence to order more pieces when I see one I want.
My only issue was the courier was supposed to be signed for expect I was not asked for a signature. I would find this concerning if ordering a more expensive piece.

Have had a terrible time chasing down…

Have had a terrible time chasing down payment for 2 bags left with the Brompton rd store. Left 2 bags with them on 22nd April, got a valuation for which was accepted on 22nd April.
And I still have not received my payment via bank transfer.
I have sent numerous emails, but no firm reply for payment for BOTH bags.

Had delivery issue as my address was partly missing and phone number wasn’t given to the driver to make contact

Making order is straightforward and delivery is fast, the inside of the bag smelled unfresh and had to spent a lot of time to deep clean and disinfect. The delivery was unsuccessful the first time as part of my address was missing and my phone number the delivery driver tried to contact me with was not correct so the driver drove away. Luckily I was following the delivery route when the van had arrived at my place and showing on the notification that they couldn’t deliver it I rang the delivery company switch board and got it solved eventually, the driver had to make a come back and I had to go the street to meet up with the driver to receive my order.

Another fabulous purchase

Having bought a few time from DE I knew I’d be getting something good again. The bag was soooo much better than the description and was like new. Whoever owned it can’t have used it a lot at all. It’s mint. I absolutely love it !
