Didn't meet my expectations
Quality of course is bad, not worth spending a dime on their courses and waste time.
DO NOT USE UDEMY
DO NOT USE UDEMY. They charged me not one but 3 times compromising my card. Also, their refund policy is deceptive. They claimed that they could not refund me as my son had watched "too much" of the course... He watched only once for at most one hour...

If I could give no stars then I would
If I could give no stars then I would. Disgraceful service, not willing to help me access courses that I have paid for, asking for proof from years ago that I can't access anymore because my email service was shut down. Even telling them the courses that I purchased was not enough. Absolutely zero service and zero interest or empathy in helping customers. DO NOT recommend.

I took a google sheets course and thought it would be something like reading an ebook, but no… it was a real course with practical assignments and everything. Very helpful
They are scammers
They are scammers. They promise 30 days of refund on their courses. But I tried to refund after less than 24 hrs and they are telling me I watched too much of the course. What a scam...
It doesn’t look good foConcerns About Udemy’s Unfair Account Suspension Practicesr such a big…
It doesn’t look good for such a big company to engage in such cheap practices. If there was really an issue with my account, it should have been suspended right from the beginning. But Udemy only detected a problem after the company had already generated good revenue from the instructor, claiming later that the account was linked to a previously banned one. This is truly disappointing — such things should not happen to instructors. The company should take action against such unfair practices.
I have been locked out of my account…
Update: I have increased my rating to halfway. I also left a review on BBB, I had back and forth conversations about this with udemy. They finally allowed me back into my account.
I am unsure if they did this because it looked bad on them and the public could actually read there was no reason to lock me out. I failed their verification after them taking 10 years worth of purchasing courses. I guess my drivers license which is good for the police was no good enough for them? They replied as they have fixed this in their eyes, which was nothing for me.
I stated in one of the back and forth conversations that the public I am sure interested on how for no reason I was locked out and your terms of service states lifetime access.
I also said if you think I am not who I say I am then you should not be keeping the funds because in your eyes I am not who I say I am (failed verification in their eyes). So you should give the money back to the Visa account that the money was taken from which was me.
Original:
I have been locked out of my account since August 2022. This case is still open as I was talking to them via email today until they started to ignore me.
I must have failed their verification process and so I no longer have access to over $1,000.00 worth of courses. they state we have lifetime access but they are not honoring this.
If they were truly trying to make sure we are who we say we are then why did you let over 1,000.00 worth of tractions happen over a 5 year period without asking for any verification.
When I ask for a refund and it was given only then you start asking for this?
Also your support on trust and safety how is this even working when you suspend accounts just on a whim without justification because I am the same person the purchased over 100 courses without any verification?
Highly Recommended
I have done a number of courses on Udemy. Every one of them has been very satisfying and I have learned a lot. It's been in the comfort of my home, at my own pace and because I started the courses to really get everything out of it - I feel the service has been very useful. The only thing I feel people run into (as the reviews are not all positive) is where the full disclaimers were not read, the course was not researched by a student or where the refund policy (which is 1 month) was attempted to not be applied by the student. I had run into trouble with courses I had paid for and no longer needed - but Udemy solved this for me with fast communication and a good solution. I feel if you as a student do your job in the research and communicate with either teachers or Udemy directly you can get great results for a very affordable price. Highly recommended.
Less than 1 star
Less than 1 star. Paid subscription and you’ll get the WORST sync between iPhone and iPad. What’s the point then??
I enjoyed learning courses in Udemy
I enjoyed learning courses in Udemy. The only problem is that if you miss a sale, the courses can be quite expensive. Good thing is that the sales are frequent and you can get good deals.
Unable to watch videos
I keep having issues watching the videos. Some play ok, while others in the same module don't play. A few times I have got it to work after doing some troubleshooting, however I don't have time to keep doing this for all videos.
I wont be using them again. I recommend to anyone looking at courses to see if they can access a similar course on another site.
Slow and buggy
I started a personal subscription to take PMP training courses and completed about 30 hours of one course. However, the website crashed, and now I can’t find that course anywhere. The platform is slow and crashes frequently. Unfortunately, there seems to be no real customer service — only an unhelpful chatbot that doesn’t resolve issues.
I initially had a good impression of Udemy, but this experience completely changed my opinion. As soon as the website starts working again, I plan to cancel my subscription.
Uncontactable support and frequent website crashes
Their support chatbot has lots of bugs, meaning I was unable to create a support ticket. Udemy also decline to provide any email/phone contact issues.
After purchasing content the platform has been plagued with technical issues (page frequently caches out, won't load content etc) - it's a pretty poor customer experience.
Still waiting for reply. will cancel
I cancelled my subscription after promotional offer ended which was 11 pounds. I tried to reinstate to see if they give any offers before the next billing period and they said i will be charged 11 pounds. I reinstated but they charged me 22 pounds and they say that applies to next billing period. The message was misleading and when i raised ticket to support they dont investigate about messages but keep saying same thing again and again like an auto generated message it applies to next billing

I enjoyed the courses but cannot use them. The player stopped randomly one day locking me out. I have spent hours & hours trying to fix it & their customer support basically told me that they will contact me IF they ever figure it out & to basically leave them alone. Bad experience.
Annoying bug
Ok, since you offer no way to directly contact the support team. Let's do it the hard way :
You have an annoying bug, in the "recently viewed" section, you show everything except the Recently viewed courses.
And .. offer a way to reach out real people in your support team. Even with a paid account I cant contact you.
A Promise Without Transparency: Udemy’s Refunds Blocked by Hidden Limits
Requested a refund well within the 30-day window after watching under 5% of the course, yet Udemy auto-denied it with “you watched too much of this course,” without disclosing any clear viewing threshold. The policy allows denials for “notable consumption,” but provides no transparent percentage or minutes, making the guarantee unreliable for customers. Reaching a human agent is unnecessarily difficult, with loops to help articles instead of a straightforward escalation. At minimum, Udemy should disclose the exact threshold, offer an easy human review, and provide store credit when original-method refunds aren’t possible. Disappointing experience that discourages future purchases.
Why Udemy Failed Me as a Learning Platform
Udemy markets itself as a place to learn anything, but in reality, it's a gamble. There’s no consistent standard for course quality—many are poorly structured, outdated, or outright misleading. And Udemy knows it. That’s why getting a refund is deliberately difficult.
I recently requested a refund for a C# course that was, without exaggeration, the worst I’ve ever seen. My benchmark? YouTube tutorials—which were far superior. The course began with a downloadable starter file that was three years out of date. The first lesson featured a scruffy presenter stumbling through vague explanations, offering nothing of substance unless you’re five years old.
I gave up after that single video. But when I applied for a refund, Udemy denied it, claiming I’d watched “too much” of the course. One video. That’s all it took to disqualify me. Apparently, clicking play once is enough to void your eligibility.
This isn’t just bad policy—it’s deceptive. Udemy’s refund system feels engineered to trap users into paying for subpar content with no recourse. In my experience, that qualifies them for the label: con artists.
