I would give it zero stars if i could

I would give it zero stars if i could! Calling something free that is not free is misleading! and also as I have found out by talking to other people who the fcuk actually send out a 5question survey to less than ten people? this was not made clear until after I had signed up and sent out invites! now I got stung with a monthly fee however, I will take this further and ensure these dodgy principles follow current UK and EU legislation! Also after waiting for more than 20min on their non-live chat I bloody gave up! I would stay well clear of this company as there are plenty other decent options out there. As I Journalist myself I pride myself on providing accurate, truthful and independent information when I publish articles however, in this case it is going to be the easiest job ever! Their page is misleading, compliance questionable and should not be allowed online! Stay well clear!

We'd like to clarify that our Free plan does not have any charges associated with it and you would only ever be charged if and when you manually upgraded from Free to one of our paid plans. This information is all publicly available in our Help Center and through our pricing page so users can understand our plans and pricing before going ahead with building their forms. We're sorry if you weren't aware of this before you'd already invested time into building yours and can appreciate this would be frustrating, but have to reassure you that we are completely transparent with the details of our plans and only hope that each of our users end up on the plan that fits them best.

Regarding the response limits, these latest plans were selected based on research around our customers' needs. Even though response limits have been reduced and we can understand this is a limitation in its own right, we have also made many beneficial changes and other features more accessible, that were previously in higher plans. For example, unlimited Logic Jumps and Calculator have been enabled on all plans including the Free plan, whereas previously you would have to be on a paid plan to use these. The idea is that with access to these previously paid features now on all plans, users can build smarter and better forms, then upgrade to increase their response limits gradually as an add on if and when needed.

We hope you'll give us another chance in the future to turn things around.

Typeform is a great tool for creating…

Typeform is a great tool for creating surveys with. There are so many interesting ways to set surveys up, using a 'block' system that is so easy to navigate that anyone can do it. I love the way you get to automatically see a preview of the survey as you set it up, and love how easy it is to personalise the form. Also, the way it collates the data is very clear and useful. Yes, there are limits for the free version but that is clearly stated when you sign up, and past that you can do pretty much as you please.

Typeform does not tell you in advance that you have limited number of responses

I had trouble with getting responses since I was not aware that I had access to limited responses when you are using the "free" plan... I used all of my responses just by myself to make sure that the survey was working. So I was left with ZERO openings for real responses. I decided then to upgrade my plan, cause I had already shared the link in different channels. However, I was not allowed to pay for just a month, I had to pay for a year. Which of course makes no sense if I want to use it just once. And no I would never recommend it, regardless of how good or bad the actual product is.

We do have response limits on all plans including and especially our Free plan. You can find information about all features and limitations of each plans on our pricing page or in our Help Center, however please accept our apologies if anything was unclear.

If you reach your response limit you are able to upgrade to increase the limit as you mentioned, but if on a yearly billed plan this upgrade or response add on would be charged for the entire year. On the other hand if you are on a monthly billed plan, you will be able to adjust this on a monthly basis. This may have been why. We'd love the chance to turn your experience around and if you would prefer to be on a monthly plan instead we will be happy to arrange this for you. If so, please reach out to our support team.

Auto renewal charged £336 without warning

Like somone below I also had a similar experience with Typeform renewals.

No notification that my account was about to be renewed on an annual plan and the cost associated with this. First thing I know about it is a notification saying £336 has been taken from my bank account. I was on the free student plan so this was a surprise, and a lot of money!

While using the product, I had an ok experience - it did the job for my needs and is why this is 2 stars not 1- but I am astounded at the surprise charge. All other companies remind their customers their account will be renewed and the charge associated with this; giving them time to cancel or downgrade if needed.

They need to fix their payment methods…

They need to fix their payment methods and at least tell it upfront. It looks like it's a free service at the beginning, but it really isn't. You need to pay at least 25 euros per month if you want a decent survey.

Again, sorry if there was any confusion over this. We do have visual indications and in app messages of when trial features are enabled, but I'll be flagging your message as feedback as we're always trying to make this as intuitive and clear as possible to avoid cases like this.

Auto renewal of free student plan charged £336 without warning

Tried to charge me £336 without warning once my free student plan expired. No notification that the subscription was due to renew or that the renewal would have a cost. Typeform is an excellent product, but £336 is a lot of money for a student and this automatic renewal without warning has made me sceptical about the ethics of the company.

If you had a discount applied as a student, naturally once this discount expires it will renew at the regular price of the plan you're on. Good and intuitive service

The site is easy to use and the forms look very high quality. The evaluations are also great and you can export in many different formats.
I used Typeform via a webhook to bring data directly into an Android and iOS app.

Sorry if there was any confusion over our plan. We do have a Free plan :) You can find all info on this plan from here : https://help.typeform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032972852-Free-plan

The thing is, if you decide to add paid features from other plans to your typeforms, you will only be able to publish and collect data with them once you either upgrade to the plan that those features belong to, or disable those features from the form first. So you are able to build and use typeforms for free, but using the features and options available on the Free plan itself.

If you like, we'd be happy to check out your form and see if there were any features enabled that were not allowing you to Publish your form while still on the Free plan, just let us know!

We create a questionarie to measure answers from our members .Everything was fine until I forgot to wrote the password, so last Friday I've been trying to reset the password. I haven't received one email from Typeform, wrote to an email , no answer. WRote on Twitter even on Facebook, NADA! I need someone from TYPEFORM to help me with this issue.

30€/month or don't even bother using this page!

I was searching for a platform which enables me to create a free online test for my students - which Typeform advertises themselves as.
Of course some options needed to be paid for so naturally, I didn't bother including them:

I spent 80min on creating a test and when I tried to upload, it said "Oh no, you must upgrade if you want to include the following options: Calculator [aka. test points], Unlimited questions, Thank you screen"

Thanks for notifying me AT THE END about that instead of marking these options red just like you did with the other paywall options.

Now, instead of 12 questions with points to count the test results and a nice end screen, it is reduced to 9 pages (not question... pages) without point calculation and an end screen made out of a citation page.

Edit: I actually found a tiny "Trial" sign under each of the question which had a feature that needed the upgraded version.
Overall, I won't recommend it unless they update their advertisements and remove the term "free" or they actually make it free and earn money with advertisement revenue instead which could be cut off with a payment by the user.

Sorry to hear of the confusion around the trial features on your quiz. We want users to be able to add paid features even when on a Free plan, to gauge if they'd be valuable for them before upgrading, but naturally, the plan will need to be upgraded before the forms can be published with these features on. We aim to be as transparent and make this as clear as possible so have some measures in place:

At the moment, when a trial feature is first added to the form you will have a pop up in the top right-hand corner of the screen to let you know your form has now gone into 'Trial Mode'. There are also green 'Trial' labels visible on the individual enabled trial features while you're working in your Create panel. Finally, the form will display a trial mode tag in your Workspace as well. We hope that in most cases these will be enough to make our users aware that the form does have trial features enabled and will not be able to be published in it's current state without the plan being upgraded first. I'm sorry if these weren't clear in this case and this is valuable feedback for us to consider.

I really hope you'll be able to use Typeform again in the future.

Beautiful forms

I've been using Typeform for years and I think they're great. I mostly use the service to create event booking forms and they are ideal for this. The forms look lovely and work well on both computers and mobiles. There is also a simple integration with Stripe that allows payments to be received.

The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that the user interface is a bit fiddly to use. The old one worked better and I'm hopeful that the new one will be an improvement.

Nonetheless, Typeform is an excellent form builder and I highly recommend them.

Nice tool, but their no-refund policy is unacceptable

Edit: Originally had 1-start -- their support was very helpful and upon writing in they did issue me the refund~

It's a nice tool, but any SaaS company (especially a successful one like Typeform with $50+ million in funding) that doesn't do refunds deserves 1 star and 1 star only. I used Typeform for a couple months and was really impressed by the configuration possibilities and interface.

Was definitely planning to use it again when my business called for it but because I cancelled a couple days late I'm now paying for nothing. Will also call out that there are NO notifications from Typeform that your subscription will renew until they send you the "Thanks for payment" message.

Their policy signals that they don't care for their customers. Outdated policy that I hope they change because it is a good tool!

The payment plan

The payment plan, customer service and whole process is terrible. Tried to sign up to a monthly subscription as I could not share the survey otherwise, even to colleagues, after trying to sign up for monthly, it immediately charged me for an annual subscription, charging the full £250 with no prior warning. There is no one to call and no one from the billing team has got back to me yet to sort this out.
The plans are very misleading and the customer experience is awful.
