TUGO THE BEST:
From day 1 when we reported the claim the TUGO team was caring compassionate and very helpful with all arrangements of care and getting me home. You were very helpful in filling out all the forms and also giving updates on the claim and of coarse accepting the claim and payment without complications.
You people are the best You are my travel insurance from here on in
Thank you and keep up the good work

Tugo was very responsive, and helpful,, I was in the middle East recently, and needed to see a doctor, and receive treatment. I contacted Tugo, and they were sympathetic,, most importantly guided me through the process of what to do,and opened up a claim or me,,, When I returned, home, I submitted all my expenses, and within two weeks, I was totally reimburst.

One of my friends suggests me TuGo 6 months back. I buy a health insurance policy from them. In the month of Sep 2021, I have got back pain when travelling in Grande Prairie. I connect with TuGo support and the service person assisted me at the same time. The claim was processed very fast.

TUGO - great and taking premiums - just dont use the insurance - they will leave you witihout coverage and send you into harms way to get it reinstated

Have an annual travel plan that allows trips up to 60 days at which point you can pay to extend as many times as you like. At one point we had a claim and then they refused to extended it again demanding we return to Alberta to reset the 60 day max. Funny how they take my money -tens of thousands of dollars till till i actually use the insurance then they refuse and expect me to return to a pandemic in Alberta to reset it. Scam of insurance - all they care about is taking your money and could care less about your actual health

Hello Christopher,
Despite our gesture to extend a courtesy 3-week extension to provide ample time to return home, as well as our attempts to explain to you why the policy can't be extended, we understand that you remain unsatisfied. As we've stated by phone and email, the policy isn’t eligible for an extension, as your request unfortunately doesn’t meet the criteria outlined in the policy wording. We understand this isn't the news you were hoping for, but this decision is based on the policy contract you entered into when the travel insurance was purchased. It's always important to review the terms and conditions of the policy to ensure you understand your coverage, before leaving on your trip. We hope this addresses your complaint.

All the best,

Ambulance claim

We are from Ontario and wintered in British Columbia, so purchased TUGO out of province insurance. Being inexperienced, I forgot to call TUGO when my husband was picked up by the ambulance. i received a bill a couple months later from the ambulance company. I contacted TUGO and was instantly taken care of. I forwarded said bill to them and received a refund promptly, minus the deductible. Our insurance agent recommended we not take a deductible, but I was stubborn and alas had to pay $300 out of the $848.00 ambulance bill. This was our first health claim ever and thankfully it was taken care of in a respectful, efficient and quick manner.

For many years my husband and I have purchased all our travel insurance needs from TuGo through one of their brokers First Rate Insurance, Ottawa. We have always had excellent help with knowledge, response times and rates. Two years in a row our trips had to be cancelled due to unexpected emergencies and on one trip there was an accident of a broken leg. TuGo Claims immediately was there to help us thru the process and we received all the refunds we expected in a timely manner. Phone calls or emails to TuGo and First Rate get answered quickly if not immediately.

Tugo was so easy to deal with when I was hospitalized in Arizona earlier this year. I called to open my claim & then they followed up with an email with some paperwork to fill out & send back to them. It was just that simple!
Thanks Tugo for handling everything for me.

Waste of money through COVID

Terrible customer service!
My husband and I have purchased an Annual Travel Insurance Plan from Tugo for years. Like everyone else, although we were unable to travel due to COVID this past 15 months, we received no credit or refund other than the three month extension that was offered while travel was still banned. Totally useless offer.
Time to look elsewhere…..

Hi Al Dodds,
Sorry to hear you weren't happy with your experience. I looked into this and found that due to travelling on your Multi Trip Annual policy, you weren't eligible for a refund. Refunds aren’t available if the policy has already gone into effect.

Details are also published on our FAQs page: https://www.tugo.com/en/travel-insurance/faq/

While that may not be the answer you were hoping for, we do hope that sheds some light on the situation.

All the best,

Tugo satisfied a wretched experience with Air Canada.

My wife and I had booked an Azamara cruise departing from Dubai and cruising through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean thence to Athens. The issue of who cancels first was foremost in our minds and fortunately Azamara took the $8,000 financial hit, cancelled and refunded. Lufthansa had made a date error so then refunded us the flights.
The arrival and departure hotels were non-refundable which was clearly stated but Air Canada was the stumbling block. We were the ones who cancelled our local flight due to Covid 19. Yes they did offer us a travel voucher for the the 55 minute return flight we booked from Penticton in the Okanagan to Vancouver but they then ceased operation from Penticton leaving us with no other option but to travel to Kelowna which extended our local road travel time from half an hour to one and a half hours to Kelowna to fly for 55 minutes to Vancouver. This would have required two nights hotel accommodation in Kelowna. I explained the situation but was denied any refund so we had to use our Tugo insurance.
Tugo had patiently extended our coverage for at least one year while I continued to request a refund from AC. The same explanation was used throughout "AC policy specifies that customers who cancel their flight plans get NO refund".
The insurance claim was small by comparison to that which might have been the case ( $176 plus two hotels ) but we were concerned that the Air Canada travel voucher policy would confuse the situation and result in our Tugo claim being denied. I supplied hotel costs, plus the Air Canada cost of $176.00, ( we used RBC points) the emails and quietly took solace in my whiskey. Lo and behold, within two weeks we had our claim honored. Long story, BUT Tugo made everything happen faster than the folks at Air Canada. Needless to say we will use Tugo again and we will go out of our way to avoid Air Canada especially since the Federal Government intends to give them a bail-out using our Federal tax money!!!
