I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on the 17th hole playing golf in Arizona . My wife called 911 . When the paramedics arrived at the golf course, my wife called tugo. They took my policy number and asked where they were going to take me At this time the ambulance driver stated they were going to airlift me by helicopter to an unknown hospital at this time. The tugo representative said to call back when they knew which hospital they were going to take me to.
When they had the name of the hospital my wife called tugo again. They said they would call ahead and let them know my insurance particulars and other pertinent information about me , as to not slow down the admissions process
The flight took approximately 1and a half hours
I was in icu for 2 days and 3 days on the ward. It was decided to air ambulance me home to Canada
Tugo made all the arrangements for the flight back to Canada
Our son flew down to make arrangements for him to return our car .
We never received any bills for my flights or stay in hospital. Tugo took care of everything Including our son returning our vehicle home
Tugo made a very stressful time much easier to deal with.
My wife and I are very grateful for the prompt and caring way we were dealt with . Thanks

I purchased travel insurance for when my son came to Canada last Christmas. On the last day of the insurance coverage we were scheduled to leave Canada and go to Costa Rica. Due to severe weather conditions, our flight was canceled and we were sent home to try again the next day. That next day, uninsured, my son slipped and fell in the shower and had to go to emergency to get medical help. We were billed for services received, however outside the insured dates. I reached out to Tugo insurance for help and they were willing to help and requested Air Canada to send a written confirmation as a statement, Which they never did respond to me, But Tugo insurance accepted my claim, and generously paid out to us, and covered the cost. We sincerely thank you for such wonderful service to us the public. I definitely will be talking about you in a very positive light. My advice to other travelers is to extend your insurance coverage by a few days just in case there are delays. It would be well worth it.

The claim form was fairly straight-forward but I did have one question about it, so I telephoned TuGo and the very helpful agent answered my query promptly. I subsequently submitted my claim forms and all backup documents and receipts via a series of emails.
The claim was for an unexpected extended stay in Mexico. As most travellers know this is mostly a cash-based society, so receipts, particularly for meals, can be either hard to get or are crude hand-scrawled ones with only a total price but no details.
Despite being missing some receipts, for which I gave my best estimates, I submitted all known expenses. I was extremely pleased and surprised that there were no challenges to some of my claims, and that the claim was paid promptly and in full. I have seldom ever made an insurance claim related to travel, but this claim was by far my best experience.
Kudos to TuGo, whom I recommend highly.
My PCR test tested positive before leaving for Australia in March 2022 forcing my trip to be cancelled. Luckily I had insurance coverage with TuGo in the event this situation did arise. After contacting my agent and submitting the required documents to the claims department I received a full refund within weeks and have booked a trip for 2023 and have again insured with TuGo. We’ve been using Tugo for six years for our winters down South.
They have been nothing short of amazing to work with.
They also provided a sense of complete comfort two years ago when the travel restrictions hit and we were still down South.

My friend had to cancel a trip due to a positive COVID test. He had subscribed to a CANCEL FOR ANY REASON plan with TUGO. The claim was flawlessly and quickly handled by the very efficient Nadia Bouzit. He promptly received his full reimbursement. It was the best, most professional service.
We had to postpone our trip because we got COVID. We had purchased trip interruption/cancellation insurance from TUGO when cancellation due to COVID was still covered under the policy. After we had COVID, we were unable to get travel medical insurance for 30 days post COVID so had to postpone our trip to the US. TUGO refused to cover our claim (cost of several nights prepaid non refundable accommodation).
Update June 16/22. I got in touch with TUGO as per their response to this review. As expected, nothing has changed. Claim denied.

I was in Germany on business and tripped and broke both shoulders. I ended up spending nearly 2 weeks in hospital (where I got excellent care). I informed TuGo of the incident and submitted the receipts upon my return home. Within 30 days I received a full refund of all of my expenses. There were a couple of minor questions but absolutely no issue. I would highly recommend their services.
I was in Mexico and went to emergency on Sunday. Due to Covid and staff shortages I was scheduled for bloodwork Monday and an MRI. I convinced them not to keep me overnight and not put my arm in a sling. I assumed I was saving the insurance company money. I contacted GOOSE on Monday and they referred me to TUGO at there claims centre who informed me since the blood and MRI weren’t done on Sunday they wouldn’t cover the costs. Can you believe it?? Goose and Tugo are great insurance unless u need them.
