TrueCar is a joke! Plain and simple. They give you a price that they have supposedly already contracted with the dealership, meaning NO junk or bogus fees. However, this is not the case; the dealershi... See more

perkspot.truecar.com : TECH FAIL

I used truecar.com under the perkspot.truecar.com URL and I was unable to access neither LOCAL vehicle availability nor "employee pricing". I called the CS line and got a person who was not as interested in getting the Perkspot Trucar website to work for me as he was in getting me an answer as to vehicle price / availability. I run a Turo rental business with multiple cars and I was hoping that this system could expedite and simplify my auto purchasing. Instead, it ADDED more time to the process - why would I call truecar for availability and pricing info when I could simply call the dealer directly?

Total waste of time

Total waste of time! Either the cars - advertised as just listed - weren’t actually in stock or the dealer significantly upped the price from what was quoted. Dishonesty personified!

TrueCar is a huge timesink

TrueCar aka Fake Car is good is you want a fake high price followed by 85% of their offer. 2 dealers acknowledged everything checked out on my car but TrueCar values are wrong. The third dealer was professional enough to tell me “TrueCar’s algorithm is wrong”.

Wanted a Colorado WT 4x4.

Wanted a Colorado WT 4x4. There was nothing on the lots in South Florida that was close to anything I wanted. Thought I'd try truecar and put in all the specs of the exact truck I wanted. They did exactly nothing for me kept directing me to the three dealers in my area which I already knew couldn't help me. Bombarded me with vehicles that didn't fit my description at all. Was a total waste of time would not recommend them at all.

First time using TrueCar and it was…

First time using TrueCar and it was helpful in finding the dealership who had the vehicle that I was looking for. The vehicle was at a dealership that has a super salesperson who wanted to deal and sell cars. They also honored the voucher from TrueCar.

dealership won't honor the true car price

I received the true car cash offer and the dealerships contacted me. I brought the car into the dealerships and it checked out great, but neither of them were willing to honor the true car appraisal and tried to low ball me.
All true car does is sell your info and tried to get you in the door to get low balled.

A scam

Negotiate a deal with a local dealership thru TrueCar.com which I accepted and made an appointment for the next day to close. Was given a TrueCar deal code to take to the dealer. When I did so, the dealer said he would not honor that deal. Attempted to contact TrueCar customer service 3 times via email and got no response. Several days later finally called them and was informed that I had to call them within 24 hours of the deal code date for them to have taken action?!?? Ridiculous!!! And the dealer still listed as a "certified" dealer on TrueCar's listing. TrueCar is nothing but a scam!!

Truecar comes through for us!

We bought a car that is hard to find 2021Subaru Onyx XT with sunroof and navigation, grey interior. We had been searching for this car for quite awhile. The price was very good and the service excellent. We are very satisfied with Truecar and the dealer that they represented.

Wouldn’t waste your time TrueCar

Wouldn’t waste your time with this site. I have had multiple dealers advertise vehicles as available for buy online only to go through the whole process of filling out the forms and selecting your deal and the vehicle being advertised is “already sold”. Last one was from University Kia in Waco. Wouldn’t trust this site to get you a deal and it seems very suspicious that dealers can pick and choose the deal even if you try to lock it in online.

Not at All as advertised, scam

I used Truecar to get a price "quote". The dealership called me to schedule an appointment based on my inquiry. I drove an hour the next morning to my appointment. The dealership had no idea I had a Truecar "Price" even though they were the ones who listed their car on there. The dealership said they had non optional security devices blah blah blah that were not listed in the Truecar Price and proceed to give me another price. I spent another 2 hours negotiating the price back down and threatening to leave.
This service is a farce and just a scam to get you into dealerships. Didn't work at all as advertised.

Truecar is true to nothing.

We went to the dealer with our Truecar offer. We were told by the General Manager he wants another $3000.00. Can not call this "haggle free". Truecar had no value. General Manager told us he can sell his cars for whatever he wants. Truecar price meant nothing to him. Truecar offered zero resolution.

Awesome Dealership!!!!

Mike Mylius and all the folks at Gulf Coast Toyota are very upfront with their pricing and want to help you! They took the time to understand my concerns and worked with me to get a vehicle.
