Vietnam & Cambodia
I just returned from a trip to Vietnam & Cambodia with Tripadeal. As it was my first trip with Tripadeal, The Hotels on the whole were good and breakfast was always good quality and plenty to eat, even though they were a little of of the Centre of the City. Weather was very hot and Humid.
The tour guide in Hanoi "Kat" was not good. On the city tour she didn't explain any of the sites we were supposed to see, she talked on her phone most of the time and never even looked back to our group to see if we were OK. We looked out for each other and I was very grateful for the help the group gave me. I ended up with blisters as she never stopped for a rest and when I asked for water she took us 2 streets out to a friend's shop. At the airport as she had only spent 2 days with us, after I handed her $20 she told me I owed her another $10. I thought this was very poor as she didn't do a good job.
The tour guides in the other cities were brilliant, especially Mr Loi In Ho Chi Minh. ( I know they are employed by an agency, so hopefully the message will get back to the agency which employs her)
Apart from this experience in Hanoi the rest of the trip was great, I loved Cambodia, A lot of the addon tours I felt were a little pricey. I would have liked to have the option of the long bus trips to get a flight into Siam Reap.
Ultimate Japan with #1 Tour Guide-🐉 Dragon
My husband & I have recently returned from Japan . We did our first group tour ” Ultimate Japan “ with TripaDeal. We were so impressed with the level of professionalism, knowledge and friendly advice received from our wonderful guide “Dragon”. We would not hesitate to highly recommend TripaDeal & Ultimate Japan based on our experience with Dragon.
Grand Japan
We just finished a 12-day Grand Japan trip. We had a wonderful time sightseeing and eating. Although some hotels rooms in Japan are smaller than what you might be use to however the toilets are interesting, the locations are very convenient for finding restaurants and convenience stores. Our guide, Miyaki, was also very helpful and made us laugh. We loved him. It was a wonderful trip and great value for money.
Fantastic Tripadeal 17 day trip to Japan
We thoroughly enjoyed our Tripadeal 17 day Ultimate Japan trip. Our guide ‘Dragon’ was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Each time we arrived in a new city/village we knew exactly what to expect, where to go for food, how to find the highlights, etc because Dragon had explained it all on the way there. We knew where and when to meet. Each tour event requiring tickets ran very smoothly, there were no issues at all. The optional additional tours were explained to us so we could choose whether or not to join them. We did the afternoon/evening excursion to Tokyo, Kyoto by the sea tour, and the final day in Yokohama tour, all were excellent. Most of the hotels were basic and clean, two were exceptional, one was shabby. Japanese hotel rooms are small by western standards so we haven’t judged them on size. Breakfasts were pretty good overall, lunch stops were reasonable. We usually had a few options for dinner and we had some great meals.
17 Day Japan tour
17 Day Japan tour. This was our third TripAdeal holiday and like the previous two we enjoyed it. Right from planning and booking the holiday everything went well. We received our booking confirmation and documentation in plenty of time. For a tour that takes in so much of a country there is small trade off at times, this can be some longer travel times and some mid day meal times at service centres. The accommodation we had was always clean and acceptable. Some rooms were small however these were still larger than some standard Japanese rooms. All the breakfasts we had were of a good quality with a variety of western and Japanese options. Our Guide Dragon was very knowledgeable and kept us informed at all times. He also gave us a good insight in to the local culture & was willing to provide extra information on where to go in each city after we booked in for the night . Whilst we were on tour a Typhoon hit Japan, Our guide & Tripadeal amended the itinerary for the day and we carried on without any issues.
CHINA WORTH THE MONEY BUT COULD BE BETTER
We did the Adventures of China with Tripadeal starting in Shanghai for 12 days.
It was a very large group of 34 people but nice people of all ages mainly 60 plus.
Great hotels and 2 out of 3 of the guides were amazing. Definitely worth the money on Hotels alone and flights.
Downside they want to sell you everything on their factory tours, Silk tour, Fan Tour and Shopping tour which they mask as Colonial Precincts in Shanghai. The trip is full on with some days starting at 5.30am and most finishing at 6.30pm if not later.
You can just head out on your own on your free days but the hassle of communication and just getting around can be difficult.
Expect to spend an extra minimum $500 on extended tours NOT provided. Also as Aussies be prepared to see your tour cost $100 extra but get to the attraction and see that it is actually $25. Must constantly remind yourself that the bus and tour guide are an add on again not a given. In most cases its either tours or stay in the hotel.
Worth the wait. Tianamen Mountain full day tour was the best. Cable car was brilliant.
Avatar Hills were wonderful but too much time was wasted in this area.
Shanghai cruise was amazing.
The elevator ride up the mountain was not an adrenalin rush with your elevator chock a block the sight was not that good.
There was a glass bridge tour 2 hours away that would have been better then the glass pathway.
The food is next level fresh but it is not Australian Chinese so get prepared for vegetables everywhere. The guides are good but need to remember we are there to see things we normally don't see. One guide sent us around a lake when we could climbed a magical stairway. Needs to provide options for everyone. If they tweaked the tour a little this could honestly be an absolute champion holiday. My first journey to China but needs some work on the tour route before I would go on another. On the way home they flew us back to Shanghai which is 3 hours north of our trip home. A simple flight to Hong Kong would have been an easier and quicker route.
Do not book with this company
Do not book with this company. We are 6 weeks from our departure date and cannot even get confirmation as to the date we leave (could be day 0 not 1)
I cant book local flights to Sydney as we cant even get an answer on when we leave. Conflicting stories from every consultant we spoke to. Dont even know which airline we are travelling with. Book through a travel agent. These people will not do the ticketing.
China experience
I had an amazing experience exploring China, thanks to the caring and wonderful tour guides Nina from Beijing and Jojo from Shanghai.
Nina made my time in Beijing truly unforgettable. She is not only very knowledgeable but also patient, kind, and thoughtful. She has a special talent for explaining history and culture in a way that is clear, engaging, and easy to follow. Her calm and friendly nature made me feel relaxed and comfortable the whole time. Nina was always organized, professional, and reliable, yet also flexible whenever needed. She was very approachable, supportive, and attentive, making sure I felt valued, safe, and cared for at every step. Her warmth, positive spirit, and genuine dedication turned every tour into something meaningful and memorable. With her creativity, humor, and gentle guidance, she brought Beijing to life in the most beautiful way.
Jojo brought Shanghai to life in the best way possible. She is friendly, energetic, and very well organized. She was flexible with plans, always communicated clearly, and showed amazing resourcefulness whenever needed. Jojo is not only knowledgeable but also fun, creative, and very thoughtful, which made every tour both exciting and meaningful. She has a wonderful way of making people feel supported and valued, and her warmth, patience, and positive spirit made every day in Shanghai special. Like Nina, she was professional, reliable, and dedicated, while also being compassionate, enthusiastic, and full of charm. With her adaptability, uplifting humor, and genuine care, Jojo turned every moment into an unforgettable experience.
The hotels and accommodations were also excellent, with great comfort and service that made me feel right at home.
Thanks to Nina and Jojo’s guidance and personal care, my visit to China was the best trip I could have hoped for. I highly recommend both of them to anyone who wants a smooth, enjoyable, and truly memorable experience in China!
Incredible china tour experience
My incredible China tour was absolutely fantastic, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. A huge thank you to Jojo and Nina — their knowledge, warmth, and attention to detail brought every moment to life. They went above and beyond, making the trip truly meaningful and memorable.
TRIP A DEAL Do not believe the Advertising hype
Do not believe the Advertising hype. Do your own research to make sure you ARE GETTING what you paid for. On a recent trip to Africa for The Great Migration we did not see any form of Migration. We did see a number of animals but THE GREAT MIGRATION was over weeks before we arrived. The only reason we booked this trip was Trip A Deals promotion which read .... I quote. "Witness the Great Migration, one of nature's most awe-inspiring spectacles, with this 14 day ultimate safari adventure travelling through Africa. See wildebeests, zebras and antelopes - as well as their predators - as they migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya. " The key words here are Witness the Great Migration. IT CLEARLY STATES IN THE OFFER.... as they migrate from Tanzania to Kenya. We did not see a single animal crossing the river nor a single animal migrating from Tanzania to Kenya. After much complaining to Trip A Deal we were offered a $150 per person voucher to use on a future booking. THEY MISSED THE POINT COMPLETLEY THAT THEIR ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION WAS MISLEADING.
We are not saying don't use Trip A Deal we are saying do your own research before commiting.
Cheap is not a good deal.
Cheap is not a good deal.
Inferior accommodation - so small we had to move furniture to fit suitcase in.
Very poor locations- out of the way
No restaurants or cafes
Inferior transport - long days no toilet on buses. No charge points. Seats small and uncomfortable!
Breakfasts very poor - limited fresh variety
Lunch and dinners expected at service areas.. just plain cheap !!
Our Japan taster
Our trip to Japan was a great success. Very short but lots packed in by the trip a deal organisers and our fantastic guide Miyaki Syo who made sure our trip was informative and fun. We saw so many attractions in the time that we had. Miyaki was knowledgeable, accommodating and very patient and made sure everything ran smoothly and seamlessly for the entire trip.
We learnt so much about Japan and the customs and culture and this was all due to Miyaki telling us all about life in Japan.
Best of Taiwan
The tour was well orgainsed - everything that was written about the tour was exactly what we got on the tour. The Tour Director was excellent which made the tour so much better and easier as the guide was very accommodating with everyone - the group that we travelled with were really great.
2 for 1 Unbeatable Japan
Our tour director Rose and captain Takazaki were truly outstanding. Rose has a wealth of knowledge about Japan, and the way she shared information made the entire journey smooth and enjoyable. She managed our group of 36 with calmness, kindness, and professionalism, even under pressure. Captain Takazaki also did a fantastic job, ensuring our travels were safe and comfortable. We highly recommend both Rose and the captain without hesitation.
As a suggestion, if TripADeal could include an additional day dedicated to shopping — ideally located near a shopping mall — it would add even greater value to this already wonderful adventure.
Luxury Sri Lanka…
The luxury Sri Lanka trip was very interesting. Our guide Mr Dulip certainly made the trip very memorable. A couple of the hotels were in my opinion not luxury 5 star hotels. Safari adventure was memorable in the siting of the leopard as was the climb to the top of the rock. Food was amazing.
Perhaps Tripadeal could explain why we were charged $300 Aud for high season. Not one person I spoke to in Sri Lanka considered our dates HIGH SEASON 🧐
Ultimate Japan 17 day tour
As seasoned independent Travellers we were nervous about joining an organized tour. However, as soon as we met our tour guide, Mohini, we knew it was going to be great. She worked tirelessly to make sure that all 38 of us were looked after, and given the extreme August heat and the national holiday this was no mean feat. We had so many wonderful cultural and sightseeing experiences, including the bullet train, rural mountain train, overnight ferry, and historical postal towns.
Most hotels were of a good standard with plenty of variety of breakfast foods, and some had onsens for a lovely evening relax. We covered a lot of ground which we wouldn't have been able to do on our own in the time that we had.
Tripadeal not safe
The tour guides in Peru Oscar, Miguel and (Rene the owner) don't know what they are doing as my wife ended up in the ICU because they were giving us no advice to see a doctor and could not pick up any symptoms of altitude sickness across 3 days and she ended up with pulmonary edema liquid on the lungs if we did not consult another guide she would of died. Do not travel with Tripadeal or there travel partner in Peru Valencia Travel no safety or training.
Scammy review voucher practice
When you get back from a (great!) trip they offer you a $150 voucher to write a review.
When you complete it they send you a voucher that must be used in 1 month!
They KNOW you just got back from a trip, so won't be ready to do another - what a sneaky cheapskate trick!
Rocky Mounteer and Alaska
we have just come back from Rocky Mountains and Alaska. the trip was wonderful everything went well. hotels were good and service was great. I have done 4 trips with trip a deal and all were great. The only thing was we could not upgrade our flights after we booked them with trip a deal as they were basic flights, so upgrade before they are issued.

Trip a deal the worst
My gf and I purchased a trip a deal package to India. my gf had to cancel last week. I was still going. I went to do my seats on the plane my flight had been cancelled. I rang the emergency number no one there because I wasn’t traveling. I had people in India check the Dehli hotel it was poor. A consultant from trip a deal was supposed to call me the next work day. No phone back. My gf wasn’t going but the company kept her as the account holder so I didn’t receive emails.
I canceled today. I love India but from experience to go to India with a company like trip a deal is dangerous.
