I have been involved with the Travel Risk Academy as a mentor for some time now, so this is written from inside the tent rather than as a paying student, and I think that vantage point is worth something. Plenty of organisations in this space talk about community. Very few build one where mentors, practitioners, vendors and students genuinely mix and where the learning runs in both directions.

I was employed as a freelance graphic and web designer for this company. Invoices fell behind and after a few emails, they promised to pay me in installments if i kept doing their work for them as they needed their latest ATHE level 5 qualification to go live. Once that was completed, they terminated my services, blocked me from all accounts and stopped paying me. They continue to use my design work on their website. They are dodgy and all their content is made up to secure more sponsorships form the likes of AXA and ANHA.
