Would rate this as less than one star. Less than 24 hours after booking and buying our flight was cancelled by United and travel guard would not refund as it was less than the 15 days from the flight. The flight was less than 24 hours after we purchased the policy-they shouldn’t even offer this option then. I think it’s a scam if the flight is cancelled by the airline that I am require to keep the policy.

The choices and fees were very clearly spelled out.

I RECEIVED THE REVISED POLICY IN RECORD TIME AND EVERYTHING WAS CORRECT.

Never had to wait to talk to anybody. Handled exactly what I wanted online.

If I could give this negative stars, I would. My policy covered inclement weather cancellations. I sent them the email saying my meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather, and they said they would only pay if the actual flight was canceled. If the flight was cancelled, it would have been refunded, leading this travel insurance to be actually worthless.

This company is an absolute scam. Do not waste your money on this scam company that will find ANY reason to not pay out. There is literally no reason to buy travel insurance if they're gonna weasel their way out of paying. Straight up asking to violate HIPPA to pay out.

Brought a "cancel for any reason" policy for a very expensive Alaska trip. Due to work circumstances; we had to cancel trip. We supplied the information thatTravelGuard requested through their website over a month ago. We have yet to here from our claims adjuster. Multiple calls to the help desk have resulted in nothing. They state that most claims would be addressed to 10 to 14 business days. We are at 20 plus days without any contact from Travel Guard.

I was pleased with the simplicity of using Travel Guard and the clarity of what is included in the coverage. Also, I think the value is good. The price is comparable to other providers. Thank you.

absolutely abysmal! Bought Travel Guard Insurance for a missions trip to Tanzania with an overnight stop in Dubai. Because of the situation in the Persian Gulf the mission group decided to cancel the trip for the safety of the volunteers. I received a complete refund from Emirates Air but Travel Guard refused to refund the premium I paid or issue a voucher for future travel, even though I tried to cancel two months before our departure date.

My wife’s flight was cancelled and we had to book with another airline to get her home from out of state. One month later and still no update on them paying my claim. Horrible experience so far.
I check the website for updates and there aren’t any then I try to call and the number says that the best way to check for updates is through the website.

I have been using Travel Guard for many years. Most of the time I use their website to either create a new policy or update an existing policy. On occasion I do call them and every time I have expert advise. I made one claim, not big but none the less it was a claim. They paid promptly for luggage not arriving with my airline reservation (I received it 2 days later). What I also like about this company is that I can modify the policy anytime, like adding my airfare when I purchase or changing the dates, easy to do online or speaking to a represenative

Filing a legitimate claim with Travel Guard has been incredibly frustrating. They have asked for information three times, and it has been filed each time. It is impossible to get information or talk to the adjuster and file continues to say it is being reviewed. It is being handled so poorly and feels like total avoidance in fulfilling their obligation.

Very explanatory website to get insurance online.

I was able to sign up for travel insurance easily and quickly at an excellent price. The website made it easy.

They hung up on me/a LOT of hoops to jump through.
A rock hit my windshield on my trip back home and cracked it. The first person transferred me to the wrong department. The second person would not answer my question, saying that she would answer my question after I answered her questions. I just had one question because it was hard to understand her and I wanted to make sure of something. I asked her to please just answer my question. She began speaking over me and unfortunately I returned the favor. She then hung up on me. I understand outsourcing phone banks overseas if the person can speak clearly. The third person I spoke with was very nice but only had canned responses to everything I asked. There are a lot of hoops to jump through to file a claim, and then you have to wait. I saved money getting insurance through Travel Guard instead of through the car rental company, but next time I will pay the extra 10-12 dollars a day so that I can just return it without having to get a police report and four other forms to turn in and then wait for them to get back to me regarding whether it was even approved or not. It was a horrible experience with the information and staff being extremely unhelpful save one nice person. The website is neither easy to navigate nor easily understandable.

I spoke with several staff members before purchasing my policy. All of them were very courteous and knowledgeable. I am very impressed!

Selling bogus insurance scamming people one person at a time. DO NOT BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE through this company they will cover nothing. They also don't specify if you don't see a doctor they won't cover anything. Thought pictures of a broken foot was good enough proof I couldn't fly. Apparently you need a doctor note and for someone without insurance it would've costs 1500 dollars to get a 450 dollar refund. Instead ill make sure I review this company on every sight possible.
