My wife, myself and our 18 year daughter recently traveled to the greater Kruger area and to Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe on a trip we booked through Africa Geographic. We had a wonderful experience. In South Africa we stayed for six nights at a small unfenced bush camp, Pungwe. The wildlife sightings particularly lions, were excellent. In Zimbabwe we camped for five nights in Gonarezhou and spent two nights at the beautiful Chilo Lodge on the outskirts of the park. While in Gonarezhou we were fortunate enough to have multiple wild dog sightings, including a number of intimate encounters where we were able to observe pack behavior at close range for extended periods of time. Plains game and elephant sightings were plentiful as well.
Africa Geographic was able to tailor our trip to what we wanted, a small unpretentious bush camp in the greater Kruger, where wildlife sightings are perhaps easier to come by, coupled with the wilderness experience of the far more remote Gonarezhou. Africa Geographic succeeded on all accounts. Our week in Gonarezhou was essentially our own private expedition into the park. Due to the logistics of the trip, its success was dependent on the smooth functioning of multiple transfers, both vehicle and plane. The trip was very well organized and all transfers took place without a hitch. We look forward to planning another trip with Africa Geographic as soon as time and financial conditions allow.

There are a lot of choices to make in planning a safari. Africa Geographic put together a trip for me that gave me the experience I was looking for in a way that I would not have been able to do on my own. I’ve been dreaming about this trip for years, and the reality was even better than I could imagine. The agent we worked with was absolutely wonderful! She understood what I was looking for, was very responsive with excellent information and answers to our many questions, and all her suggestions for the trip hit the mark perfectly. Africa Geographic tailored the trip specifically to what I was looking for—every component of the trip was thoughtful and demonstrated their knowledge of the services and experiences available. They were very helpful in arranging all the details; I’ve never felt more taken care of than on this trip. From the moment I was met at Lusaka till I arrived back from my stay at Kafue National Park, everything was perfectly organized.
I was flown out to Chungwa airstrip by a very nice and competent bush pilot, Tanya.
The manager of Fig Tree Camp, Ngoli met us at the airstrip and transported us to camp. A small bush camp with only 4 tents on stilts, which inspires "Out of Africa" moments, captured me with it's charm and dedicated staff. Boni, the chef served remarkable food.
Aaron, my guide also fulfilled my (quite high) expectations sometimes he even surpassed them.
After 4 days at Fig Tree I moved to the main Mukambi Lodge, I appreciated very much that Aaron remained my guide. The welcome by the owners and staff was special, and I loved my tent with a balcony/terrace towards the river. The wildlife sightings continued, the highlight I might say, were hunting wild dogs. During my six days I counted 19 individual lions, I did not count the hundreds of pukus and many other antelope species, elephants, numerous crocs, and hippos and of course the obligatory leopard. Night drives revealed genet, civet, porcupine and bushbaby. The birding was very rewarding too with a few new species on my list.

My family and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Rwanda to see the gorillas . It was a trip of a lifetime - a bucket list trip that was realised! The sightings of the golden monkeys and gorillas was absolutely amazing and so were the local tours . The guides , rangers and our driver were so professional .

Was really good dealing with Africa Geographic, especially when having the perfect attention of Risette who was able to perfectly read and feel our profile and demands as clients. Although challenging, keep it at least as it was, always professionally tolerant and pacient with clients profiles and demands. Everything so well organized.

African Geographic takes time to get to know its clients and uses its wide experience of Africa to suit the safari arrangements to their preferences - whether accommodation, transport, or the all-important guides.
We traveled to Rwanda - a first time visit - and then to the familiar ground of Kenya. We were well served in both countries, and had a memorable trip with outstanding mammal and bird sightings. Looking forward to more of the same, probably in 2025.

This is the second time we used AG service with Christian. We now reside in South Africa and Christian organized our trip to Madikwe. We were a bit uncertain about the arrangements but trusted Christian’s experience and knowledge. We were not disappointed, he knew exactly what we were looking for and the experience was amazing! Christian was sensitive to our budget for this trip and it was exactly what we wanted and exceeded our expectations.

The first time we used Christian and AG services was in August 2021 and we went to Rwanda to go Gorilla trekking and it was the experience of a lifetime. Christian organized every detail for 11 days and it was everything we hoped it would be and more.

We had such a wonderful experience in Rwanda that we recommended Christian to our best friend and he organized a trip for her and a friend recently to Kenya and they were beyond ecstatic with the trip he organized for them with every detail thought out and executed perfectly.

Needless to say we will use Christian and AG services again and will continue to refer him to friends and family.

Kim at Africa Geographic organized an awesome trip for us - safari, Cape Town and wine country. Too many highlights to fit them all in a review, but suffice to say that our family of 4 enjoyed every minute! Everything went very smoothly and without a hitch. Thanks as well for connecting us to Escape+Explore in Cape Town - Mike was a great guide and took us on lots of adventures. The only thing left now is to decide when we will be back!

We had an fabulous experience with Jamie Paterson over five days in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Her breadth of knowledge is amazing and she deployed it purposefully to maximize our experience while tracking leopards and other animals. We organized a 12 day trip through Uganda and Kenya with Africa Geographic for our honeymoon and wouldn't hesitate to use Africa Geographic again for future trips! Nadia and the team at Africa Geographic are excellent. They do a wonderful job of asking about what types of experiences you're looking for, regions of the continent you have been to or want to go to, and what your budget is. From there, they craft some sample itineraries for you to choose from, and then you work together to dial in the final plan. They have an excellent network of lodges and tour operators that they work with. Additionally, when plans change at the last minute (such as a change in international flight plans or a delay during the trip outside of our control), the team is there to support you and assist in finding alternative options. Every lodge we stayed at with AG provided top notch service and was everything we expected and more. When going between lodges, transport was carefully arranged for us by AG, and we never had to worry that we would not be taken care of. Although I have extensive international travel experience, I am confident that I would not have been able to organize this trip without the expert help from Africa Geographic and stay within our set budget. I have already recommended Africa Geographic to several friends who have seen our photos on social media and received our Christmas card featuring images from our trip and have asked about how to organize a safari. We booked 5 accommodations and 4 Okovango Delta domestic flights. The experiences and animal observations were very special and unique, only in the Chobe NP we had missed the herds of elephants because it had rained heavily just before. The lodges and camps were all of excellent quality and the staff very well trained. However, next time we would prefer 3x3 nights instead of 5x2 nights, at 76 years of age it is of course also due to age. We were a group of 4 and next time we will book our own safari vehicle just for ourselves if possible. All in all we had a wonderful trip and will definitely book with Africa Geographic again.

My trip to Africa, organized by Africa Geographic, was superb! I loved every minute of it. It was a mobile tented safari in Botswana. The staff were all excellent and I had the best guide imaginable. Isaac was able to find many animals and we actually spent quite a lot of time observing them, which I deeply appreciated. The tents were quite comfortable, with a nice bed and even the shower and toilet were good. I never thought that camping could be so nice! I was given a beautiful, detailed itinerary, which was quite helpful. And Christian, who organized the trip, was always supportive and generous with his time and knowledge. And the cost was much less than that of some other companies I had looked at. I highly recommend Africa Geographic for a beautiful travel experience.

The trip was fine, but too expensive compared to the level of service.
To AG - I cannot reply to your comment, but find it difficult to understand that because Seychelles is a high cost destination, your cost is so high. You should then be transparent about this, instead of refusing to explain the high cost.

We had an amazing trip perfectly organised by Africa Geographic: everything was superb! Great places to sleep, delicious food, experienced guides and drivers, stunning wildlife, well organised transfers and flights ... a wonderful experience!!

My husband and I have just returned from a magical 5 day safari trip with Africa Geographic travel tours.

We stayed at the Khwai private game reserve, Little Sable, the Skybeds and Hyena Pan all of which exceeded our expectations by far. The accommodation was spacious, tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. We were also warmly welcomed at the lodges by the very professional and passionate staff and guides

It was also such a unique and wonderful experience to be afforded the opportunity to be able to literally sleep under the stars at the Skybeds accommodation. We would highly recommend this!

Delicious gourmet meals were served throughout the day and the chefs were always wanting to please the guests!

Piet and I were also most fortunate to have the CEO Simon Espley and his lovely wife Lizz accompany us on the trip.

If you are looking for a tour operator that will guarantee a vast knowledge of the bush, scrumptious meals, friendly, experienced staff and guides, comfortable accommodation then look no further than the AG team. We highly recommend them!

We did an 8 day trip to Botswana in June 2022 - an extended, 5 day Delta Detox followed by 3 days in Chobe national park. What can I say? In a nutshell, the experience far exceeded our expectations! Everything our AG consultant promised us was delivered - on time, efficiently and always with a warm smile.

On the planning side, Christian was super flexible and accomodating of our queries, changes to the advertised program, and dates. And there were no hitches to the delivery. He notified us well in advance of the need to change our journey into the delta because of the delayed floods this year, but assured us we would nonetheless have an eventful journey by safari vehicle rather than boat. And he wasn't wrong! We passed through herds of elephant, had to navigate deep water across the road, and even had to make our own bush detour to get to camp. It was an awesome (4 hour) start to our trip - and the crackling fire and friendly camp staff were there to welcome us just as the sun was setting. Very special.

The accommodation was all we expected and hoped for, with attached toilet/shower tent and essentials like mozzie spray provided. Jonathon was always there at the right times with hot water from the fire! The meals prepared by Josiah were great and always hot, and the campfire bread was to die for!

We were surprised to find that the operator provided a safari vehicle and motor boat in addition to the mokoros, so we were extremely well catered for when we wanted a change from our morning walking safaris. All included in the fee we paid to AG for the trip.

Highlights of our trip? Honestly, we had so many it's difficult to be specific. We had encounters with lion, elephant, hippo and crocs and innumerable birds (including the elusive Pels fishing eagle), antelope, etc. And plenty of what I called "white knuckle" experiences, mainly with elephant while in a mokoro or motor boat. The nightly chorus of frogs, lions, hyena, and hippos was wonderful. We can't think of what we would improve or change, and commend Philemon, Pat and the entire team - who looked after the two of us like royalty - for their customer-focused service. We especially noted their VERY conservative style when it came to walking and mokoro safaris. They simply took no chances and we felt extremely confident we were in the best of hands out in the bush.

Leading up to the trip, my wife was nervous about elephants, hippos, and going in a Mokoro, not to mention being on foot in the bush with wild animals, but found the careful approach taken by all guides put her at ease and she felt very comfortable throughout the trip. We would recommend the Delta Detox experience to anybody! And as a side note, I'm 74 and my wife 65, so don't think this is just for youngsters!

In terms of value for money, the "Delta Detox" experience is probably the most economical way to experience delta life close to nature. It's not a 5-star experience as luxury safaris go, but it also doesn't carry the price tag! If you are comfy with the idea of staying in a tent, showering outdoors (in privacy) eating meals prepared on a camp fire and are not freaked out by the odd mozzie, fly, or creepy-crawly, this experience is one for you and for your memoirs!

Africa Geographic was super prompt and professional at each stage of the booking process. The agent was very knowledgeable about alternative destinations and explained the pros and cons of each.

I was not the perfect customer! The agent was patient as my plans changed before the booking. He advised me at each step showing the options and costs. Once I had decided to proceed he was well-informed about the specific options like airport pickup. All costs were explained up-front. After the booking was made I had to cancel two flights in and out of the destination - again the options and credit were handled flawlessly.

All that was handled very professionally and in a most helpful manner.

We have just returned from a three-week family adventure with Africa Geographic Travel’s primate tour.
