Avoid this company

Avoid this company ! I wish I found this company on trust pilot before now ! But any wonder I couldn’t find them with the company name being TEMP-Beauty first ! I have ordered a sky light which on purchase was 3 day delivery I then had to pay extra as I live in Cornwall and after 7days I chased and was fed a load of ridiculous excuses apparently my location is an issue. So would be another 7 days ! I live in Redruth Cornwall it’s not like it’s an island ! It’s held the job up which means I’ve got issues with trades now ! I’ve had pallets come down from Scotland quicker so there is no excuse

Recently

Recently, I placed an order for a roof lantern from this company for our new extension. The delivery took approximately six weeks, and it was crucial to have it installed immediately upon arrival to keep the other scheduled trades on track. Once the lantern was installed, it required internal plastering and painting before the kitchen could be set up beneath it. Coordinating with various tradespeople was challenging due to their busy schedules. However, when the lantern arrived, the fitters discovered a missing essential component and a damaged main ridge beam, causing a halt in progress. Attempts to reach the company by phone were unsuccessful, resulting in an aborted fitting visit and the need to persistently follow up to address the issue. Although the missing part was eventually sent, the damaged piece remained unresolved. After waiting for suitable weather conditions and the availability of the fitters, the installation was completed. Unfortunately, the damaged part was not replaced, and with the kitchen installation imminent, I couldn't postpone any longer. The fitters remarked that the lantern's quality fell short compared to others, with misaligned glass and some capping pieces not staying in place. Overall, my experience with this company was disappointing, as they seemed disinterested after the sale, leaving me to deal with additional costs to fix the damaged beam. It's a letdown since the roof lantern was meant to be the extension's centerpiece. I wouldn't recommend this company.

Avoid. Awful service. Unhelpful.

Totally agree with the other 1 star reviews and it’s clear these people do not care about their reputation or giving good customer service when something goes wrong or a customer wants a refund or compensation.
Yes, they gave me a refund (as I was protected by eBay) but only after the most unhelpful and unfortunate communication and giving them the opportunity to resolve the issue. They implied the broken skylight delivered on 07/11/21 was my fault (I didn’t make it, transport it or lift it off the truck), despite what they say - windows do not just break - unprotected ‘toughened’ glass on the back of a truck is more likely to crack enroute (but apparently not says them). I then had 3 large skylights delivered successfully by a different company and saw how they were safely transported and delivered. A couple of pictures with my builders’ hands on the broken skylight and rambling explanations of glass do not prove anything. Then they gave all the excuses to not collect the 1.5m x 1.5m useless frame and huge mess that was left behind.
If you look at the other 1 star reviews left, you’ll see they hide behind defensiveness, explanations and excuses and not actually reaching a solution that’s satisfactory, and play the victim.
They never answer the phone (even though they tell you to call) and call back within a window that suits them (and think it’s ok). When you do speak to them they’re patronising, lack any understanding and reel off the same justifications for taking no accountability and insist on continuing to speak (or write). They would rather spend the time trying to confuse a civilian consumer than listen to, and understand, what the actual issue is. Their sign off has no name - says a lot. Then they try and pass you over to ‘management’, by which point, what hope is there of a resolution. Avoid. Here comes the insincere apology, ‘appreciation’ and long winded, defensive excuses.

Avoid this company

I recently ordered a roof lantern for an extension with this company. It took around 6 weeks to receive it so it needed to be fitted as soon as it was delivered as to not hold up any of the other trades as it needed plastering and painting inside once fitted then the kitchen could be fitted which part of lands directly under the lantern. All trades where booked in as in these times everyone is very busy. Unfortunately when the lantern was delivered and the fitters opened up the roof and started to fit it they realised there was a part missing which was needed to fit the lantern. The main ridge beam was also damaged. I tried to contact the company but unfortunately they never answer the phone so I had to pay the fitters for an aborted visit then chase the company to resolve this. This meant I had to delay the works until the lantern was fitted. The missing part was finally delivered but the damaged part wasn't replaced. I then had to wait for not only a dry day but a day when the fitters could come back and fit the lantern. They where finally able to fit it in but the damaged piece was not replaced and I couldn't wait any longer as the kitchen was booked in ready for fitting a few days later and I needed to get it plastered and painted before it comes. The fitters said the quality of the lantern isn't as good as ones they have used in the past and the glass wasnt square with the frame. Some of the capping pieces don't stay on either. All in all a very bad experience from an unprofessional company who aren't interested once they have taken your money. I feel very let down as the roof lantern was supposed to be the main aspect of the extension but now I am going to have to pay more money out again for someone to repair the damaged beam. I would not recommend this company.

fantastic company and excellent service

I’ve had an amazing experience as a customer of toughened glass systems the glass was the highest quality glass I’ve ever encountered. Furthermore the customer service was excellent and exceeded my expectations will definitely be using this company in the future!

Awful experience

Poor communication from the offset from this company. They appear to be a large organisation from the website, but communication occurs through a mobile number, with no clear indication of delivery or receipt of payment, I had to email to confirm whether this was received.
2 years since having the skylight fitted, the top layer of the triple glazed window has shattered. After speaking with the company they refused to take any responsibility with no ethical or moral compass. Since having the shattered skylight removed, I was informed by the professional that the window was not only faulty in terms of its manufacturing of the frame, but it was also extremely dangerous. The reason the top layer shattered was because the design of the window meant that the top layer of glass overlapped the frame, therefore making it weaker and more susceptible to shattering. In addition, the only reason the whole window did not shatter and fall through to my kitchen, was because it was sat on plasterboard - NOT the window frame itself. The only thing holding the whole window up would have been the top layer of glass (which shattered), had it not have been for the plasterboard in my walls protruding slightly, the window could have fallen and killed a member of my family.
Extremely disappointed with the mannor in which this has been handled, but feel it is only fair to provide a true and honest review for my experience with this company. I do find it strange how there only appears to be positive reviews for this company, which is generally an indication of false and non genuine customers.
