Was given a voucher for Totally Wild Uk…

Was given a voucher for Totally Wild Uk as a Christmas present! When we went on the website to book it there were very few locations or dates available in the North East! We found a date coming up in the next few weeks and booked it hastily as there were very few options we could make.
Afterwards it turned out we had double booked ourselves in our haste. I contacted the company asking to rearrange and was told this was not an option and we would have to “pass our tickets onto someone else”.
Not enough courses available and questionable customer service!

Right from the initial introduction our foraging guide - Kelly, was pleasant friendly and made you feel welcomed.
We were all made to feel involved and part of a very informative experience.
I don’t think that you’ll find another forager so enthusiastic.
At no point were we made to feel like we were in a classroom. It was an experience, I think, that we should all participate in.
Well done Kelly, for making us enjoy our day and for helping us understand that there is more to life than just supermarkets.
The food at the end was delicious.

Fantastic foraging experience in Norfolk

Aaron our guide (in Norfolk) was exceptional, really knowledgeable, engaging and funny, we learnt so much and will definitely be checking out future foraging courses at different times of year/in different locations, with the company. Surpassed our expectations and we have subsequently enjoyed experimenting with the cooking of our foraged wild garlic

I am extremly disspointed by this company, I ordered two books for my wifes birthday; they took three weeks to then decide to send them out second class and now we're into week 5 and nothing has arrived.

Inspirational day

Spent the day foraging and cooking with Al at Buckland Lake Park, Surrey. It was a really fun, interesting experience, with Al clearly demonstrating his knowledge and passion. (Although his language was more 'colourful' than perhaps it needed to be!) The day followed the timetable given in an email before, and if you get peckish around midday, useful to take a snack to nibble in the break, as the cooking isn't until 3pm. We gathered plenty of fungi and a variety of leaves, before cooking up a delicious mushroom and garlic risotto, and windfall apple crumble. It was all quite inspirational.

An amazing experince

Kris was amazing, so full of information and so enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. Within about 10 yards of starting our foraging adventure we were already gathering plants. By the end the baskets were overflowing with produce. The history about medicinal uses was absolutely fascinating and at the end we enjoyed a huge meal of pasta (not foraged. :-D ) green leaves and mushrooms. A fantastic adventure and very recommended. Thanks Kris for a great day.

Unreliable.

Unreliable.. my daughter and I booked a day of foraging and the course was CANCELLED on morning of the experience.. we had both taken day off work which my daughter doesn't get paid.. I had paid for doggy day care which was also an additional expense.. above all the weather would have been perfect and we are both left very disappointed.. although they had reported difficulties with a car issue taxis are freely available.. I don't think they quite understand that people have very busy lives and look forward to such events and arrange their day around it.. quite a poor excuse if you ask me..

Foraging with Fez

Had a great day foraging with Fez in Delamere Forest. He is so knowledgeable about what you can do with the leaves, fruit and fungi in the wild. An amazing meal was cooked to use the food that we had foraged. Would definitely recommend this experience day.

A truly exceptional foraging experience

We loved our foraging experience with Kristopher from the start to finish and couldn't wait to tell our family and friends about it! Kristopher was very knowledgeable about everything he taught us, as well as being able to answer any questions the group had. Being able to taste things on route and then cook with what we had foraged that day was truly wonderful. The food that we cooked/had cooked for us was exceptional and it has certainly inspired us to go out foraging ourselves and cook with our finds! Our group loved the rosehip and chilli sauce in particular. A great group of people, a fantastic foraging guide and an all round brilliant day out.

I attended the foraging and cooking…

I attended the foraging and cooking course on Saturday 26th July at Buckland Lake Park.

I would have to disagree with the review from Kaye Kaur and I am quite surprised at her review as she was very engaged for the whole day and seemed like she enjoyed herself!

We were told ahead of time on the email that our meal would be served at 3pm - so the meal being late was not a shock as we were informed before the day.
A quote from the email: “ Should you feel the need for snacks please feel free to bring them. We do provide a small taster around midday and then lunch is usually served around 3pm”

My friend and I brought snacks and we prepared for a late lunch :)

Al was really friendly and so enthusiastic about foraging you could really tell that this is his passion. I came away learning some great things and I will definitely be trying to make my own wild tea! As well I came away learning some plants to definitely avoid!

When it came to the meal at 3pm my friend and I helped Al prepare the coleslaw and other members of the group helped prepare the dessert. There was plenty of food to go around the whole group I even had seconds! We had wild garlic pesto pasta with oyster mushrooms and for dessert we had a cherry plum and blackberry crumble.

I would definitely recommend this experience and it has really encouraged me to start foraging myself!

Definitely worth the money as the skills I have learnt are so valuable.

Thanks so much Al!

Waste of money!!..…

Everything was great to begin with but the food very late and non existent. I expected an edible plate of food and perhaps a drink and it wasn't forthcoming so I left. It was terrible!! For £70 you expect a plate of food if it is promised in the price. I have been to foraging walks costing £20 and had snacks include which were better than this. I do expect a full refund. This was a terrible experience and totally put me offer going on a foraging walk for ever. I think Al needs to be better organised and needs a helper to get the food ready in time.

Interesting and different day out

We had a wonderful day out at Buckland Park Lake in Surrey. Our forager Al was great and keen to impart his knowledge about the plants and how we could use them. It was also great fun chopping up the firewood and veggies for the meal at the end which was lovely and Al was even able to accommodate my food intolerances. I would recommend this for someone wanting to do something a bit different.

A great day for anyone interested in nature and history

What a great day ! Our guide Al delivered so much knowledge with great entertainment and character. It's amazing what is out there. Pre-event information was very informative and the day was organised and timed really well. I'd recommend this day to anyone with an interest in nature and history.

Painful experience

Al was knowledgable and we enjoyed the walk around the forest in the sun. However, there was an incident early on when he deliberately stung me on the back of my hand, for a joke which was a nasty shock and still hurt hours later. Moreover, I found the fact he laughed, mocked me and continued to make me feel terrible about the inflicted sting, difficult to comprehend.

This, in combination of being told to eat another nettle, which stung my mouth and fingers, was very painful and upsetting. This was a horrible experience and I thought about leaving and asking for my money back. However, I didn’t want to leave my friend. I think most people in this situation would have done that.
