So, I was warned, but I guess I disregarded the warning. Due to it coming from another insurance company. Telling me that they are a scam company and once they get your money. Contact stops. And it never gets restarted again. And you will never get your money back, I was hoping that wasn't true, but after 7 to 10 emails and 20 to 30 phone calls. And being on hold for hours and then it would hang up. I would say this if you were thinking about dealing with this company, call the number for claims or the number for customer service. And e-mail the info@totalautoprotect. They all come back with the same result. No answer. However, if you do a test with another number. An e-mail. To get a quote, they will call you by 15 minutes. To get the money out of you. But after they get the money, no phone calls back. Thank God. I told them that I wanted to split the payment of $3600 into four. Thank God. They still stole $900 from me. And not the whole amount that I would have paid. Look up the pending lawsuits, complaints, civil lawsuits and fraudulent scam activity. They have also been on the news, I feel so stupid that I didn't do this. And now I'm out $1000. Please do your research. I only found this out. That this was all true when I decided not to buy a truck. From a dealership. Due to dealer issues. But I was way within my 30 days risk free to cancel, sent all the emails and calls not to mention. Got a most likely fake cancellation department e-mail. cancelation@autotoprotect and I’m not sure how they can still operate and have a business also they operate on a website that they own so be very cautious it looks like the best and top auto companies list, but all the other companies top list never list them at all, But I owe the heads up to Premier Auto. They were so nice. Better Business Bureau credited. Super helpful. Then when I had to cancel with them there was no big deal at all. No issues again due to not buying the truck from the dealer. There is a lot of information and news articles. They go by many different names. And they usually use 501 for a suite. Or Unit 501. But make no mistake, it's all the same company. It's funny how they don't have a review page on their website at all where you can leave a review about them, but they have. The silly disclaimer and how we respond to bad reviews. Give me a break. Go with Premier auto protect or another company I would have went with endurance im in mass and the truck didn’t fit into there scope . They're all accredited, a great company, and corporate well . Please be aware of Total Auto Protect. Do not use this company no matter what they say. Like they did to me. One of the things he said was we get a lot of bad reviews because people are trying to scam us to get vehicles fixed that aren't drivable. However, none of the reviews say that. Here is another line they use. We are a corporate insurance company and only usually deal with dealers so we don't worry about the other information on Better Business Bureau or Google which they have awful ratings on both. Then they offered me a firefighter discount as I'm a firefighter first responder and didn't even wink screwing me over. What does that say about the owner of this company and how he treats even first responders and firefighters? Here's some company info. I found a couple different things. They've gone under total auto protect, total auto, total auto resellers. Some of the addresses they use 501 Silver Side Rd. Wilmington, DE 19809. Also another alias, 901 N Market St. Wilmington, DE. Some of the numbers are 877-708-0103, 844-438-1444. And if you want to contact Ryan, 302. 672-3008. What they do is once they get your money, they block your numbers so you can't e-mail them. Or reach out to them, it bounces back not found.
Thanks for screwing me and all the others you have!

I purchased a policy and they never sent a copy
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the handling of my extended warranty claim for my 2006 Bentley Continental Flying Spur. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and the inadequate service I have received regarding the coverage of necessary transmission work.
Despite my persistent efforts to contact your company, I have not received any correspondence—be it by letter, email, or phone call—explaining why my claim was denied. Furthermore, I was informed that your system only retains records for the past 30 days, which is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about your record-keeping practices.
Over the past several weeks, I have made numerous attempts to resolve this issue by calling your customer service line. However, each time I have endured extensive hold times of up to 30 minutes, only to be disconnected without resolution. This level of customer service is unacceptable and unprofessional, and it has left me feeling utterly duped and frustrated.
Given the circumstances, I am demanding a full refund of the amount I paid for the extended warranty. Your company's failure to provide the promised coverage and your inadequate customer service have left me with no other recourse. I expect this refund to be processed as quickly as possible to rectify this matter.
Please treat this letter as a formal complaint and a demand for immediate action. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this issue. Should I not receive a satisfactory response within 14 days, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to the relevant consumer protection agencies and seek legal advice.
I was told by Samuel Taylor that I had 30 days to request a full refund if I changed my mind on purchasing an auto warranty. I canceled the very day I signed up for the policy. It's been over three weeks, and my payment was never refunded. This company is a SCAM. Sam's number now goes to a voicemail for someone named John. You have to wait on hold forever to speak with anyone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TOTAL AUTO PROTECT!!
I was dissatisfied with the coverage of the total auto protect program I purchased on 1/18/24, after 1 month (2/12/24), I terminated the contract and requested a refund, spoke to John Myers. They sent a termination contract for me to sign on 4/5/24 stating they would refund less than 1/2 of what I paid for the policy. (They had not paid any claims on my behalf). I signed the termination policy. No payment was ever received. I contacted the BBB, who received an apologetic response from Ryan Anderson stating a payment would be expedited. No payment was ever received. A letter to the attorney general resulted in a recommendation to sue the company. It’s now 1/13/25. They still have not refunded my money. Hard to pinpoint date of experience, it has been a full year. Happy to include the contract showing where they agreed to a refund. Subsequent calls to company have been unsuccessful, message no one is available call later. No customer service option available on website.
I have been on hold over 2 hours each of the last 2 days. I still can't talk to a person about my contract. Not good customers service if I cannot even get a hold of someone.
This company is a COMPLETE SCAM!!! I purchased a warranty with them and when it came to have repair work done on my vehicle they never responded to the auto shop. I had to pay the repairs out of my pocket. Now I have tried to cancel my warranty with them and CANNOT REACH ANYONE NOR HAVE MY EMAILS BEEN ANSWERED. THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!! HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS. DISHEARTENING TO KNOW A COMPANY IS TAKING PEOPLES MONEY AND NOT STANDING BY THEIR CONTRACT. POLICY TAP817155157 I WANT CANCELLED!!!!!!!!! PLEASE ANYONE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I am speaking with an attorney currently regarding my experience with Total Auto Protect to see what my next steps are to take. Have also contacted BBB as well. Please I advise you do the same.
I purchased a policy for my vehicle, however I made a claim back in July 19th 2024, and I followed up and I was told the claim was being processed, however after three months, the company was impossible to get a hold of, and the claims department completly ghosted me, going unanswered. I have sent emails to terminate my policy, however there has been no response. At this point I am claiming this is fraud, as they stole money.
I am a current warranty holder of a Premier warranty plan, with a vehicle at the dealership waiting for approval to repair. The dealership and I get no response from Total Auto Protect. I have called during business hours, emailed the claims department, and completed the online claims documentation, as per their required process.
I am hoping this gets resolved quick and I will update this once I have some closure from Total Auto Protect.
As of today, and some prior experiences with TAP, I would suggest Buyer Beware. they are great and fast to take money, after that they disappear.
I am hoping they see this and make it right = approve the clearly within warranty claim.
Scammers. Zero customer service. Eventually after months agreed to pay a claim 'within 60 days', after three months-nothing, unable to talk to anyone, get emails answered, these are the worst. AVOID AT ALL COST!
They were helpful very nice to talk to.
scam. easy to purchase the policy but when you need the service for extended warranty, you won't be able to get a response from them. The service center also couldn't reach the claim department to get the case reviewed for over 30 days. You won't be able to get the manager to call you or reach them. Avoid at all cost
I find it interesting they will not publish any negative reviews on their web site.
December 7, 2021 I purchased a Premier (60 months or 60,000 miles) policy from this business for a 2016 Chevy Suburban with approximately 95000 miles. Before taking delivery of the vehicle, I had the dealer perform a complete maintenance and lube including servicing the transmission. I did my research on line after the salesman at TAP painted an exceptional picture. I should have dug deeper!
While on vacation in April 2024, I was 1100 miles from home and the transmission started to slip with 109,500 miles on the odometer. I called TAP and was told to take it to a certified mechanic, and they would handle the repair from there. I went to 2 different independent transmission shops and had the vehicle driven for analysis. I was concerned about those warranties and neither shop could work it in for 4 weeks so I took it to one of the largest GM dealers in the state. I gave the service dept the policy and contact information. The dealership did their diagnosis and attempted to call TAP, but could not get through after numerous attempts. I attempted to call TAP but no answer. Some of those calls went to voice mail. After leaving a message requesting a return call there was never a response. Finally upon getting through once, promises were made and not kept about contacting the dealer. Contact was finally made with TAP sending a form which requested all service records from me and any maintenance done, even prior to my purchase and any maintenance performed not related to the transmission. The dealership never was able to get through on the phone. Over the next 3 weeks, I have documented 22 attempted phone calls to TAP from my cell and numerous more from land lines.
To cut to the chase, TAP denied the claim on the excuse of normal wear and tear. How they can justify that decision with a transmission that has been serviced ahead of factory recommendations, I cannot understand. Their customer service department informed me I could appeal their decision, and someone would be in touch within 30 business days. Needless to say, 30 business days came and went with no contact. I then emailed for a response and was informed the appeal was also denied on the grounds the fluid was contaminated.
In summary, I had to extend my stay by a month then buy $1200 of airline tickets to get my wife and I home besides having a vehicle down for 6 weeks with a $7200 bill for a new transmission, 1100 miles from home. If my schedule had not been somewhat flexible, this would have been more of a nightmare beside the cost.
If you elect to use this company for any services, I trust you will have better success than I did I looked at their reviews on Yelp and out of 18, 15 were 1. On their website, they apparently only publish reviews that are rated as 5. If you go on TAP’s site, they spend a lot of time explaining how well they handle their complaints and lead you to believe complaints are a rarity. BBB rates them an F. I plan to exhaust every recourse available to me to recoup this experience.
Ryan answered all my questions, and they were a lot!
Sam answered all my questions in a quick and thorough manner. I understand what the plan covers and what it doesn’t. Professional and a reasonable price for the warranty, hard to ask for more.
I bought a used car and the dealership tried to sell me a warranty package. It was $800 more than the one from Total Auto Protect which has better coverage so I got one from them. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience in purchasing the warranty.

Ryan was great his customer service was great, he answered all my questions, and took his time to make sure I felt comfortable with the company, even though I found one cheaper.
Total Auto protect looks like a scam. I submitted a claim for a battery jump start in May, 2 months later, now at the end of July, I haven't received the $40 claim check yet. To my multiple email inquiries and phone calls, every time, I am assured that the check is on its way! I am going to cancel the contract even with loss. Let's see what kind of excuses they are going to advance to dodge the refund!
For any potential buyers, please learn from my lesson, DO NOT buy from them!!
08/10/2024
Even after the reply from Total Auto Protection, I am still waiting for the check to arrive. Sent email and made phone call again, they just ignore me, no reply! So the below reply from them is just BS!!.
