Misleading "looks official" site with incorrect online booking form availability
TopDoctors gives the _impression_ of representing the actual doctor and providing that doctor's online booking service, but _in fact_ all they do is take your appointment request and then "manually" contact the doctor's secretary, who has the _actual_ diary of the doctor and can make the booking (which will most likely not be for the time you requested since that may well in fact not be available) … the booking calendar on the TopDoctors website does _not_ show the doctor's availability at all! They are just getting in the way of the process, I recommend contacting the doctor's secretary directly and cutting TopDoctors out of the loop. They also squat domains with doctors' names in, thus deceptively adding an air of being "that doctor's official site" when it is not, which is highly misleading. They're just trying to insert themselves in the process in between doctors (and their secretaries) and patients, and it helps nobody except them. Fairly despicable activity.

In some cases, with smaller clinics and practices, we are not yet connected. In these instances, our Patient Care department works to confirm the appointment request on behalf of the patients, understanding the internal processes of the hospitals, clinics, and doctors’ individual private practices. Rather than insert ourselves, we provide a service in order to make what is often a stressful time as easy as possible. It is also the doctor's obligation to keep their schedules up to date. That said in some cases this is not the reality and we make sure through this department dedicated to helping the patient that all appointments are attended correctly.

The website claims to provide Doctors availability and if Private healthcare registered.
I booked an available slot with an AXA-registered doctor, received an e-mail confirmation, organised my trip to London accordingly... only to receive a call from the clinic informing me that not only did I not have an appointment but that the doctor was not registered with AXA either.
The complete opposite of what TopDoctors site provided.

Recently booked an online appointment using the top doctors website and received a text message with a confirmation code, but something didn’t feel right as no email confirmation or anything. I subsequently contacted the doctors secretary separately and they had no details.

I went through "Top Doctors"
I went through "Top Doctors" as I could secure a earlier appointment than I could going direct with Pinehill Hospital with the same consultant. The website worked well and easy to use, however, I did not receive confirmation within 48 hours so I started chasing "Top Doctors" for this confirmation. They said they chased the hospital, by email, twice but did not receive any response. I asked them to chase by telephone and get back to me. I heard nothing so on the day of the appointment I called them again to be told they called the hospital ONCE but nobody picked up the phone. They then cancelled the appointment. There was a lack of commitment to confirm the appointment and NO communication at all from them. I called Pinehill Hospital and it was answered first time and I enquired about "Top Doctors" appointment request and they had NO emails or answer phone messages. I now have an appointment direct with the hospital but have had to wait much longer than I should have.

You’re not booking an appointment…
You’re not booking an appointment through this site you are only making an enquiry. I entered my details, appeared to book an appointment (time and date selected) but some days later an automated email asked me to confirm if the booking has been confirmed. Having confirmed that I hadn’t received confirmation of the appointment, I did receive an email stating the appointment hadn’t been booked and that I needed to call the hospital outpatient department myself! The delay meant the appointment was no longer available, in fact the entire clinic was fully booked. However, the site is still showing appointments available on this day, with the consultant I want to see, at the same hospital but the hospital confirms that there are no appointments available on this date!
Ring the hospital directly and speak to outpatients, they have the most up to date information, and are incredibly helpful in my experience; I would not recommend using this service.

Waste of time booking through this site. Highgate hospital said they NEVER have the times this website shows when I called them trying to speed along the appointment I thought I had booked. Don't bother using this site, just call the hospitals directly to book and get real, live information

Currently, 40% of the doctors on our website have their schedules connected, and those who do not are committed to keeping them as updated as possible. Therefore, we always inform the user throughout the appointment process—on our website, in the terms of use, and in the emails that we send—that prior confirmation from the doctor, PA, or medical centre is required.
We apologise if there has been any issue with our platform, and we will continue working to improve our services to help you find the best specialists in private medicine.

Sadly our booked appointment had not gone through properly, but me and daughter did not find this out until we had travelled from Brighton all the way to london. But TopDoctor were great in communication and refunded all my travel costs without any argument.
Its not often these days to get a refund so quickly and easily. MY advice is always ring the doctor's secretary directly to check appointment has been confirmed

I have received an excellent service/response from the Top Doctors Team from 1st enquiry through making arrangements for my self chosen*consultant appointment (Andy Pay* Derma, Reading), subsequent very successful minor op.( using local anaesthetic, barely noticeable scar) and related aftercare advice. Very grateful thanks for a truly excellent caring service.
Ps I considered this route only after it was made clear to me after an MRI scan that the NHS were unable to perform this minor op because their priorities could not include my benign and painless condition at this time, which I quite understand.

Went for an appointment in St Albans…
Went for an appointment in St Albans today - a 1½ hour train journey each way for us - but the clinician appeared to have cancelled because they failed to get through to us (at less than 2 hours notice) for confirmation. Wasted journey and cost £58 in fares.

Mr Hussain Alnajjar
I had a procedure with Mr Alnajjar on 30th January 2024 with a follow-up consultation on 12th March 2024.
The procedure was successfully completed on 30th January prior to which Mr Alnajjar explained all aspects of the procedure and recovery in detail and at a level I could clearly understand. On all occasions that I have met with Mr Alnajjar I cannot compliment him high enough on his attitude and professionalism and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who requires a Urology Consultant surgeon.
