I am a seller. The website has illegal billing practices. I paid for premium bags and they are supposed to sell 90-100% of the bag and they didn’t and did not downgrade it to a regular selling bag aft... See more

I should have read the reviews before sending my items. What a rip off!!!! I have sold a bag full of clothing, name brand, some items I never even wore, and have received pennies. Plus if you want your unsold items returned you have to pay!! Never ever again 😠

I sent an entire bag of clothes to sell, many of which I bought from ThredUp, and they only kept 7 items. They kept 14 items that included several brands they carry and the garments were in very good condition. They only offered 38 cents for a couple pair of Nike shorts. That's ridiculous. I could have sold them on Facebook Marketplace for more. Save yourself the hassle!!

There is NO Connect with Customer Service. The Customer Service is a flat zero. Two boxes were delivered. One was my order which was correct but the second box was not mine. I have tried twice using the "Chat" option to tell the company I received a box containing three pair of shoes that was not my order. Chat #1777562372. The first "Chat" message I sent was at 10:20a and at 11:30a a message was issued, Live Agent has been assigned to this conversation. This message from the Thredup Support Team was issued, you are welcome to keep holding, or you may leave a message below and an agent will reach out within 1 hour via email. Chat #1777669626, I sent message at 4:07p and received a response at 5:20p Live Agent has been assigned to this conversation. The chat ended at 5:35p with this message, "Your conversation with the Live Agent has ended. If you need more help, please start a new chat." It has been two days and no email has been received. Someone placed an order that was delivered to my home and I can't notify the company. I will not try again.

I used to love this company for selling clothes. Then they instituted the $14.99 fee for shipping. Over the past few years (multiple, multiple times)they have priced the clothes at just little enough that they get to keep my box of clothes for free and I get no payout. Plus they process your box very slow. I’ve also received clothes that are nothing like the description given. Will not buy from or sell to this company again.

I sent 10 high end items to Thred Up in a bag that I pre paid for. I had no idea that they would be giving me pennies and change, for my items and keeping the rest of the profit for themselves. To reclaim several of my items, I had to pay for them, to get them back, otherwise they would keep them if not sold within a number of days. Thred Up is a complete SCAM. Do not sell on Thred up!! Sell your items on Poshmark, DPop or anywhere else. Thred Up needs to be sued. A total SCAM! -- UPDATE** Thred Up sold 3 of my items but took ALL of the money $7 which was the pennies they were paying me for all 3 of my items that sold, total. So my balance is $0 because they charged a "service fee" on top of that. They sold 1 item for $33 and gave me $3, then kept the $3 for a "service fee." They kept all of the money after selling my items. I got zero $0. Complete SCAM! DO NOT SELL ON THRED UP!!

I sent in 5 bags of 100lbs of nice clothes! Many new with tags! I can’t believe only 2 items sold! What a ton of work sorting, folding and mailing all those quality clothes for nothing! I will never mail clothes into Thredup or recommend them to anyone I know. They are doing something wrong, selling to high of prices, not listing long enough, or not automatically discounting the items before they are unlisted. Very bad company to sell clothes with. Donate locally, thredup is not worth your time.

I was disappointed with my purchase. What was shown was NOT what was sold. 4 of the items included undershirts (part of the reason why I selected them), but undershirts were not included and the description did NOT say they were not part of the item. Clothes were just tossed into a box, without folding or trying to keep them wrinkle free (swap.com set the bar high there). Lastly, a couple days after my order, I got an email that one of the items in my order was no longer available. I went back to the web site and sure enough, the same item was available for sale. I tried to reach customer service, but I was unable to. I will not order from thredup.com again.

Not at all positive. I feel like whoever is opening those boxes help themselves. When stuff should get posted for sale they don't and they claim they donate it.
Plus they make money just for the bag.
Customer service is also terrible.
I have had a good experience shopping on the site but in terms of sending stuff in forget it. It's a total scam. I sent in a jacket with tags still on it and they said it was unsellable so they donated it, which I find hard to believe!

They steal then ignore you. Sadly; My issue remains unsolved; they have not done anything to resolve my issue in 3 weeks after leaving reviews here that go unanswered; 2 items they kept and one they are refusing to pay me on a high end designer item they are claiming isn’t authentic. Please do not send them anything high end or you will be sorry and find yourself wondering why you didn’t read these reviews ahead of time; Additionally they have not paid on a item they told me was priced my White and Warren scarf. They told the item was priced at 73 then never bothered to add the funds; sadly this company has zero customer service, and it’s So unethical. They don’t answer emails and you wind up here without anything being resolved. There is no customer service whatsoever. Where is my payment for my scarf?

They need a serious overhaul on their sizing methods. I got 3 pairs of pants, and knowing their size inconsistencies I had to look up each brands size chart. One pair of pants I ordered was 10(!) inches bigger than listed. I purposely ordered smaller than my size and still the pants were falling off my butt. And there's no consistency about it. It's not like the size is always bigger than they say (though it often is) another garment I got, was listed as only half an inch smaller than my waist but the actual garment was 3 inches smaller than the stated size. Because the description was wrong I was able to get the restocking fee waived, but I think it's nonsense I have to pay $11 to ship the items back, when it's their fault I ordered the wrong size. I'd rather shop on depop where each seller has control of the items description. At least then, if the description is wrong I can look at other sellers.
Of the 3 items I ordered from thredup, not one of them fit. It's a waste of time and money to shop there.

My star rating is based on my years long use of ThredUp and not one particular interaction.
I buy and sell on ThredUp. I have a better experience buying from ThredUp than selling. Selection is good, high end item selection is worthwhile as I have aquired many high end brand name items I would not buy from a retail store due to their pricepoint.
Returns are easy, albeit expensive with a $3.99 restocking fee per item.
Selling to ThredUp via a "clean out" bag is an awful experience (again speaking from multiple interactions). Amounts earned per item for lower priced items is next to nothing and really not worth it. I have returned to dropping things at my local consignment shop as I earn far more than I do from ThredUp. Time to recieve funds once an item sells is ridiculosly long and unneccessary.
Accuracy is NOT ThredUps strong point. I have had an issue with every bag I have ever sent to them. Items listed incorrectly. Items they claim to be unsellable or excessive wear - quite frankly I believe someone in the warehouse took these items as there is no way the items had excessive wear. I sent in 2 high end purses a few months ago (one new with tag) and they "lost" both purses. After contacting them multiple times about the items, they gave me full credit for the items as if they had sold. A few weeks later, both of those purses were listed for sale.

Selling on ThredUp can be a nightmare. It’s a difficult process to edit or flag your listing for errors. It’s literally impossible to talk to a human or escalate any issues. The AI generated mannequin pic that most clothing listings include is almost always the wrong measurements and so items frequently are returned by the purchaser. I have been going back and forth with customer service about this now for nearly a month with zero resolution. I just think they’ve grown beyond a feasible scale and are over reliant on AI while also devaluing customer service.

They aren’t up front about your potential earnings and how they process and return your items. You can find it if you have a lawyer reading through their fine print.
I’ve had several items listed, I was incredibly surprised at what I’d make when they were listed totaling over 1K. They don’t allow you to reclaim them at this point. You can adjust the price to bump up your earnings, but this assures they will never sell.
12 sold so far, around $450, I have made about $35. When an item doesn’t sell, you can reclaim but you are required to pay a shipping fee and a service fee of $5.99 per item. They also list each item at different intervals, so you pay an individual shipping fee for each as well. Making it not even worth reclaiming, allowing them to keep the item and sell for their own profit.
When you go to cash out the small amount you make, they attempt to pressure you to use as a shopping credit first. They also allow you to donate it, which only allows their company to claim that amount in their own donations at the end of the year.
This is nothing more than a leech fronting to be an eco friendly company and sustainable way of selling your designer items.

I sent a box in with a label. They received the box. They kept delaying the process date. It was then listed as LOST and INACTIVE. Finally after 4 attempts trying to reach customer service they said they lost it. They offered me 35.00 cash or credit. After I complained they offered 25.00 in store credit. Ridiculous and so frustrating!!!!!! I will never send anything else to this company again. Please be aware!!!!

I feel like I must get on here and write a bad review in order for someone to respond back to me I’ve ordered several packages from thred up and have receive multiple items that state their condition as good or excellent but in fact they are stained, missing buttons and even completely ripped or missing parts like a belted top without the belt. Normally I suck it up and take the loss on a few items just bc I’m busy and don’t like wasted my spare time doing this but my last box was completely missing items stained up missing buttons and honestly I’m more irritated that they are refusing g to respond to my emails. Do better thred up and stop lying on your descriptions it’s unethical and just wrong

Damage clothing, pictures are fix to make to look the items are in good condition.

Don’t send anything of value! I sent two Toby Keith high end leather belts, heavily studded and brand new directly from his concert at $150 each. I wrote them a note stating value and not to sell dirt cheap. I received $1.38 for each one! Absolutely forget this place if you’re selling

I like others did not do my homework and had a horrible experience with this company. Use a different resale plattform. ThreadUp is a complete rip off! The pricing is horrible and the fees are crazy! Do not use them unless you want a donation without a tax write off!

I thought this was the greatest thing ever initially. I got some really nice clothes from here. UNTIL I tried to return some clothes. Come to find they charge $4 per item as a restocking fee, you have to pay for return shipping, AND some of the items are final sale. But they don’t tell you any of the in advance.

If only a 0 or - review was available. Horrible experience as a seller. I sent in a bag and asked for anything they didn’t take to be returned which they didn’t. The items they rejected were curiously the high end ones, is the staff keeping the good stuff? They took a handful of items gave me incredibly low payout, had items with tags still on them marked used, shirts were on the mannequin backwards and after my $30 service fee I’ve made a grand total of $3. I could have at least donated it locally and received a tax write off. I will NEVER use thred up and discourage anyone from using them.
