Terrible experience

I sent 2 bags last month and I just received an email that it has some sort of smell and it is not acceptable. I put them all myself. All of them are in good condition barely used. Would not recommend 😕

I am a seller

I am a seller. The website has illegal billing practices. I paid for premium bags and they are supposed to sell 90-100% of the bag and they didn’t and did not downgrade it to a regular selling bag after contacting their customer service. As a result, I will be pursuing small claims court and have my state garnish their business. My state doesn’t mess around.

This is my go to place for tops

This is my go to place for tops, and shoes if they have them. I have very specific requirements for my clothes, and there's always a sale so I can get what I need within my price range. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd have an unlimited wardrobe. Since I sew, I can make the different items fit me. Thredup isn't a scam, and I've been buying from them for years. It isn't for everyone, but if you know how to online thrift shop, it's an amazing place. Also, they've majorly upgraded their search features, which makes it much easier to find the exact kind I want.

If I could leave less than 1 starI would.
I have used thredup for years and had good outcome. This year I sent 2 bags one with a cost, one without, they charged me for both. I had brand new items in both bags(w/tags), brahmin purses, 1 of a kind hand tooled leather purse, Sam Edelman new shoes etc..they chose not to list half of these?? They chose not returned messages. I couldn't be more unimpressed - it has been almost a complete rip off.

Damaged item and cancelled order

1st item I bought received with undisclosed damage. 2nd order was cancelled with no email notification and still no credit card refund. Beware!

ThredUp has been taken over by AI

ThredUp has been taken over by AI. The company response to the last review I left here was clearly written by a bot. More recently an actual person told me they were not allowed to make any changes to decisions such as categories or pricing set by AI. Thus it is no surprise that leather loafers listed as beach shoes didn’t sell. Crew necks are listed as turtlenecks, blues as grays, long sleeves as three quarter sleeves, etc. The seller has to spend a lot of time correcting descriptions. The site claims to donate your items that don’t sell but after the selling period lapsed I saw my items still listed for sale but clearly I wasn’t going to share in the revenue. The clothes are sloppily hung on the mannequins before photographing. They just want volume not a satisfied seller. There is a new selling model I’m going to try.

I have sent several brand name items in…

I have sent several brand name items in pristine condition and the payout is literally so small, that after selling 10 items, I’d get $10 payout off which they take $7 processing fee. It’s a joke. After finding out how little they pay, I tried them to send me back my second bag that has items like brand new Lululemon etc. because I’d have a better luck selling with Poshmark. Contacted their “customer service “ but they were so unwilling to help. I will tell everyone not to fall for this & submitting grievance to business bureau .

3 out of 5 items incorrect …

Out of the 5 items I ordered only 2 were as described. A pair of sandals were a Euro size 38 and were no way the same size as the other pair of size 8 sandals I received though they were listed with size 8 shoes. The jeans I received that were listed in Womens were for a child. The blouse I received had a stain on the back of it.
Luckily, my 11 yr old granddaughter could wear the jeans and shoes that were incorrect. Not going to waste my time and money to try to return the shirt as I'll probably have to take it to have shipped back, not worth the gas I would have to use.
Lesson learned.. .won't be purchasing anything from here again.

I’m a seller

I’m a seller, I am very disappointed I send two huge bags of barley used clothes (like 34 items) they only sold 4 items just like $16.00 and I only got like $5.00 and if I want the clothes back I have to pay for them like $6.00 a piece is not worth it, I lost all of my good clothes for nothing, I can’t believe it, I am very disappointed don’t sell with this company.

Don't use this site

Don't use this site. I paid for a bag filled it up and sent in items that actually still had tags on them.To try out the site. They sold the items for twenty dollars each and out of four items that sold.I earned $3.53 which I was not able to cash out because it would not email me the temporary code number that I needed after multiple tries.I gave up. Their fees for taking your items and posting a picture are absolutely astronomical and on top of that. You have to wait a month to a month out to make sure whoever bought your item doesn't want to return it. I tried this side, but I will definitely not use them again.

Thred Up is a scam

Thred Up is a scam. I sent in very expensive clothing that was in excellent shape. Several pieces including one from Anthropology was deemed “not sellable” and donated. Most of the clothing was not marked excellent which I know it was in excellent shape. The commission you receive is insulting. I would rather donate to charity. Will never use again.

No customer service

I ordered 2 pr shoes, a dress and a t-shirt. I received a Kate Spade tote thats probably worth more than what I ordered! Tried to text, email, chat to return it to whomever ordered it only to get the runaround and have to repeat myself numerous times. There is no number to call so its prob AI that was talking to me. They just want your $$ and care nothing about customer service.
It has been 3 days since they asked for more information. I gave them my order # email etc and they have not reached out to me. Must have been AI auto reply asking for information.
I finally gave up speaking with a human there after 7 days of trying. I deleted my account as well. I am stuck with an item I did not order and did not receive my items. Lesson learned, I will spread the word NOT to shop there!!

I gave Thredup up a 1, Because of personal experiences purchasing from this company..I've purchased from this company for a while...And in the description of the items on their website, it would state in good condition or excellent condition and it wouldn't be..I've received items that were ripped or had a stain that was cleary visible...And the description would be deceiving in my personal opinion , because the items were opposite of that....I'm seriously thinking about shutting down my Thredup account because the experience sometimes is just extremely disappointing when l spend my hard earned money on items that isn't what it said that it .....Please make that make sense..I do understand that they are used clothing , but it's clear that someone isn't paying attention when they are going through these clothes because these items are being sent out even though they're not in good or the best condition....My personal experience and my personal opinion....Have a great day! Period!

Sold my items for decent prices and sent me $ 4.00
$5.99 to reclaim each item is ridiculous.
They should offer a complete bag return option.
You can't afford to reclaim any of your items you send to them.

I should have checked the reviews first

Boy I wish I had only known. I sent them some really nice stuff. And they sold some things for over $23 charged me a service three of $7.99 and then somehow I only get two bucks out of that. And there was some items that didn't sell in a specific amount of time and they want me to pay $5.99 to get it back. Now mind you I had to pay to send the stuff to them. What a racket. I wish I would have just put it on the marketplace and done it myself.
In addition everything I purchased from them was too small and I ordered my size. And I was not able to return it cuz it was on sale so they say.

They completely lied.

A company may make mistakes and or have an employee that is not customer friendly however, The so-called customer service is out right nasty when you bring a concern to them. They do not resolve issues, they basically tell you to ... off as if, your the problem. I have been through multiple failures on their part. A couple examples is when they sent me the wrong "high end" (over 1,000 dollars) purse. I complained, of course and they kept my money for 6 weeks before a refund and also canceled my account (as punishment) so therefore, I could not see or get the money in my sales...another time they did not list a new with tags expensive purse (for my review prior to sale) and next thing you know there it was "sold" for 2.56! yes, 2 dollars and 56 cents. I (of course) brought this to their attention and guess what? They said it was not in the condition they required and could have donated it. wow! I reported them to BBB and they said it was resolved...It never was. They completely lied to the BBB.

One purchase was enough!!!

I went in all out on my first purchase. The items are received were in poor condition, they smelled one of them was fraying and now that I've washed another item it is falling apart. A jacket that I purchased for my granddaughter is a snow coat not a raincoat as I needed. Although I complain to customer service and they refunded the majority of my payment, I will not be using this site again to make purchases and I also will not be sending in any clothing because one they don't treat it well they don't know how to categorize it, there seems to be little to no quality control. Once again somebody's making a pile of money off of the general public. I was hoping for an alternative to Poshmark with their high fees that tag the seller and the buyer but this isn't it. So when I tried to use the chat system to complain and get some resolution I could never get a live person. Another sign of not having enough employees, not paying people well enough, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the head person of this company is making a mint. Don't let them make money off of you. Forewarned is forarmed.

Glad I found this site, years ago!

I have been a loyal customer for several years for the following reasons:
Great service -fast credit on returns
Wonderful selection (high end and casual clothes)
Items as described
Searched for items that are not there- usually show up (as if items are curated just for you personally)
Purchasing is an easy process (no memberships, no extra or hidden fees)
