We had a great experience with Neil and…

We had a great experience with Neil and James moving all of our stuff out of storage and into our new home. They were very efficient, a massive help and very polite the whole time. We would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for movers.

AVOID

I booked them to move from London to Essex. DO NOT CHOOSE THEM IF YOU ARE DOING A LONG DISTANCE MOVE. I chose Yellow Van Company due to easy booking options, supposed premium service and hassle free moving promise, however, my experience was very far from hassle free.
We had booked 2 movers, who were new to the company, however this was not the issue and they were trying to help us to deal with the situation as best as they could, we did have major problems with the head office though.
Once everything was packed in the van, movers were contacting head office to get the best route and this is where we run into major issues. Company policy is to not use any roads that require a fee. This was not communicated to us at a time of booking, which ended up being crucial in our circumstances. This meant that instead of using Silvertown tunnel, head office instructed the movers to use Woolwich Ferry, which, of course caused very serious delays. At the time of booking, their website estimates travel time and their total journey estimate was 50 min of driving. Instead, we spent over 1h just queuing for ferry and total journey time took 2,5h (because of waiting for ferry, we were also stuck in rush hour, which would have otherwise been avoided by taking Silvertown tunnel route). This was a significant issue as we had only booked for 4h (which would have been plenty if we had taken correct route) and this meant that we had to pay extra £120 for overtime, which wasn't our fault. They wouldn't release our belongings until this was paid. If we had known, we would have just paid Silvertown tunnel fee ourselves. Because there was such a delay with the driving, movers then had to rush dumping our belongings at the house to avoid further charges. Instead of paying a small tunnel fee, we were left with £120 bill.
All in all, this was for from premium experience that I had expected. I ended up paying over 600£ for rushed, unpleasant experience that left me in tears. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your next move.
I also want to add that movers were in constant communication with the head office during this and we overheard a lot of harassment from the head office aimed at the movers. Just want to add that that we don't blame the movers, we blame the head office. For our next move, we will choose independent drivers who have provided much more premium services in the past.

You've raised a fair point about our routing, and I want to own it: the fact that our standard route planning avoids toll roads should have been made clear to you at the time of booking, and it wasn't. I completely understand that, in your circumstances, you'd have happily paid the tunnel fee to save the time, and not having that choice explained up front is on us. I'm sorry for the delay and the knock-on overtime cost that followed.
I'd also like to reassure you on one point: how we speak to and support our team matters a great deal to us, and I'll be looking into what you overheard, because that's not the standard we hold ourselves to internally either.
We're a family-run business and we take feedback like this seriously — it's how we improve. The difficulty is that we've no record of a call from you and can't identify your booking from the name here, so I'd really appreciate the chance to look into it properly and make things right. Harry was amazing!

Punctuality on point 5pm, even made a courtesy call 20 mins prior to say he was nearby (so much appreciated as was stressed) Harry followed through special requests and was a true pro throughout my removal yesterday. Very well planned & worked efficiently for the hours I booked. Great guy, thank you again Harry 👍

Amazing service

I chose The Yellow Van Company through a recommendation and I wasnt disappointed.Arrived bang on time I showed the 2 operatives Jason and Brijesh what i needed moved and dismantled and they just got on with it no stress fome at all. Amazing work from Jason and Brijesh 😀 im even using the company again today for another job. I highly recommend this company and their prices are competitive.

Best Man with a Van Company we have ever used
