While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Welcome to The Sheriffs Office, the experts in debt recovery and enforcement services across all of England and Wales. We work hard to get back what you are owed and our recovery rates are consistently in excess of the industry average. We manage the transfer of your judgment or order to the High Court for enforcement free of charge. There is a £66 court fee which, along with the enforcement fees, is recoverable from the debtor.

They got the job done the only thing I did not like was the communication side of things alot of the time I had to chase them for updates and find out what was going on they use people who are self employed so if they don't win they don't get paid were as the courts bailiffs get paid a salary so they don't need to do any chasing I am glad I chose this route otherwise I might not have got paid

Throughout the whole process The Sheriff's were always at the end of the phone and keeping us constantly advised. It was a very long drawn out process which had nothing to do with the Sheriff's but more to do with the Court case going on for over 2 years. Once the High Court Writ had been issued we received our monies in full for each claim within a couple of weeks.

Told us that they would collect the moneys from a debter .we had to chase them to get them to go to the property when they did they made very little or no attempt to claim moneys then still charged us £90.00
Fees when asked why they did not claim moneys they stated that there is no moneys there even when we know and told them and showed them messages that the debter said she had had a large settlement. And owned a Holiday home as well . Very little help in this case if the debter sais they won't pay they just walk away and charged us

Really good service. I’ve used them several times and worth every penny.

The debtor was experienced in debt avoidance and played the system, moving address, pleading poverty etc. Sheriff’s office did a search and found him. Then got the money I was owed. Thanks

The co-operation was fair, no problems. The company steadily recovered the final instalments.

We engaged the Office to help recover a debt against a former tenant amounting to £14k. After 4 months the agent, Mr Brereton, has sent the same email on a bi-weekly basis which has elicited no response whatsoever. He has knocked on the door three times, and even though the defendant is in the property has declined to answer the door. A car, registered to one of the debtor’s sits undisturbed in the driveway. Mr Brereton now advises that he can do no more. Complete waste of time. We now intend to employ private bailiffs who we expect to have more determination than that shown here.

From point of engagement up to the full settlement of the debt, the Sheriffs Office service was excellent. It took all the stress out of the situation.
