I have been buying odds and ends from…

I have been buying odds and ends from this company for a while. Although not always best value, they do have some rather unusual fabrics, ribbon, decorative sewing items.

I did a very foolish thing in joining their 'subscription' (which I cancelled very quickly).
However, I did receive a well packaged small bundle with a nice ribbon around it. However, the fabric they sent is totally not to my taste (I did not chose the fabric). They also sent some fabric backing and little green buttons to match the fabric.
I did not undo the bundle and it remains exactly the way I received it.
I asked to return the bundle (at my expense).
This is their last email and my last response:

Hi Martine,

Thanks for coming back to us again. Gemma's passed your email over to me (Rosie) just to confirm the returns policy for the subscription packages and I'm afraid that as they are a custom made product the standard 'cooling off' period for an item bought online doesn't apply. It's the same for all cut fabric. You can find further information here.

As Gemma said though, we're more than happy to issue a credit note exchange this time if you send the package back to us - totally understand you'd rather not have fabric you won't sew with!

Thanks,

Rosie

Dear Rosie

Thank you for your return email.

May I just point out that you did not cut the fabric 'specifically' for me. You prepared a number of them and just sent them 'randomly'. I am also certain that you have 'other' clients buying this 'bundle' so you would not lose anything at all. After all I paid for the delivery and evidently will be also paying for the return.

If I buy a dress from a seller, it is not custom made.. if I buy a 'bundle' from you, it is also not customer made as you do not know me, my taste and choices and I did not chose the fabric.
Now, if I had ordered a CHOSEN fabric that you specifically had to cut for 'me', that would be a completely different matter.

I will send the package back to you. I am not health wise in a good position to start fighting a legal battle with you.
I await the confirmation of your credit note. Once spent, I will have to leave you site as a customer.
