I had a great appointment with Dr Becky…

I had a great appointment with Dr Becky Mawson. She gave me very thorough advice and was very reassuring, and provided detailed notes and resources afterwards. She helped me put together an action plan of treatment and was just in general very caring. I really appreciated her support, especially after I had a less than great experience with my local GP who gave me some incorrect information. If you need to discuss any women's health issue (especially contraception) definitely use The Lowdown!

I wish I had come across this…

I wish I had come across this organisation sooner! All I have been looking for and requesting from my GP was available in 20 minutes with a consultation that evening. I have now been able to rule out each of the contraceptions I was having negative side affects to with the help from Dr Zaakira and pages throughout the website. It has made me feel more positive understanding exactly each pill contains - having the support instead of being ‘palmed’ off from the GP was hugely appreciated.

An amazing organization

An amazing organization. The lowdown is focused just on womens health and this makes for expertise which is focused entirely on what you need. I had a fantastic consultation where I got focused, excellent advice. It was shockingly refreshing to sit in front a Dr who understood what I was going through, was sympathetic and offered strategic advice and knowledgeable planning. In a 30 minute appointment 20 years of poor service from every other Dr I've ever spoken to was undone and rectified. I wish I had this in my 20s! If you are considering this please book an appointment. You will not regret it.

An invaluable service

I can’t recommend the GP service enough. I spoke with Dr Becky who was amazing.

Having access to a GP that specialises in endometriosis is invaluable. Their website and Instagram content as a whole is impressive and I couldn’t advocate enough for the rollout of this type of support and education for women of all ages, everywhere. I also loved the fact there was a “pay it forward” option on the GP service where you could pay a couple of pounds more to allow somebody less fortunate to access this service.

Keep it up, thelowdown!

Highly recommend!

Website was very easy to use, and is the only resource I have found of this kind, which compares different types of pills and gives detailed information about potential side effects and pros/cons. I had not registered with my local GP after moving, and was running out of my pill. My order arrived the next day - would definitely use again!

The supportive experts we need!

Searching the internet for high-quality, personalised advice about contraception, I came across the Lowdown. I booked a consultation on the same day (!) and had a truly wonderful chat with a patient, kind, clear medial expert. I have a whole bunch of anxiety about making the right decision due to past experiences, and I was able to come to a conclusion that felt right and helpful within 30 minutes. Highly recommend this service to anyone who needs advice and support making the right medical choices for them!

Finally – I've found someone to talk to about contraception!

After not feeling like I've been listened too in the past, I finally feel like my concerns have been heard. It was so lovely to have a consultation with a doctor who was a) a woman b) friendly and considerate and c) actually knew what's what in the minefield that is the different types and side effects of contraception! I couldn't recommend the company highly enough!

Brilliant, non judgmental and informative, changing the conversation about contraception

I have had consultations with both Dr Mel and Dr Fran, and both were brilliant. Incredibly knowledgeable, insightful and non judgemental; I felt like I was talking to a friend! All my concerns and worries were addressed and broken down. The website is also brilliant, really good source of informative and interesting information. I’m so pleased I know about this website, it is changing contraceptive knowledge for the better! Keep it up girls!!

GP consultation with an expert on contraception and time to discuss all options

I needed support in reevaluating the options available to me having used the same method of contraception for many years. I opted for a GP consultation and this was without a doubt the best £45 I've spent in a long time. Dr Fran was a true expert and had the time to really help me understand the implications of the options available to me. She drew upon both clinical data and patient experience to support her recommendations and has taken great effort to provide me with helpful information in the follow up notes. I felt truly heard and this has been so valuable to me in deciding how to move forward. Thank you, The Lowdown, and Dr Fran, for providing this service.

Love this website!

Honestly, The Lowdown are my go-to for any questions about contraception.
I love their feature of how you can book to chat one of their doctors. I've had 4 sessions now over the past 2 years and I'm always put at ease with any concerns or worries I had. They have endless resources on their website and I'm honestly so glad I found them!

The Lowdown meets every contraception need and query

The Lowdown is the only place I go to for my contraception. Where do I start with how great this company has been for me, a free 1-1 contraception check-in, to comparison tools, reviews and user-friendly informative pages on so many different types of contraception. As someone who has struggled to find what suits me and my contraceptive needs, Lowdown has been able to provide me with everything I need, easy to order and super quick delivery. I feel calm and reassured that no matter what contraception I want to try, or need in a hurry, the Lowdown can provide this. All the staff are brilliant, helpful and friendly.

Very helpful advice received.

Very helpful advice given to me over the WhatsApp text service. The advice was informative, very useful to have this sort of support that is easy to find on this website (the lowdown). I like how there is reviews from women with what contraception they went with and the information that they have wrote down within their review.
