We used this card with no issues so can’t fault it
We choose a restaurant purely so we could use our gift cards. Upon paying we were informed that there was a technical problem and others were experiencing the same problem. After waiting more than 30 minutes for the restaurant to try and resolve the issue we were informed that unfortunately we could use the vouchers on this occasion. I have since logged this issue with the card company but it has not been resolved. Definitely would not recommend buying these gift cards.
Don't buy this card. Restaurant chain named on the website did not accept it. Looks like a scam
Got a £20 dining out gift card as a present for Christmas of one of the doctors at the practice where I work, been to use it today scratched off to get the PIN number when handed to the lady at the bar she said it would not go through as it was not activated, I phoned up the company to try to get some help but was told they are all activated on purchase. I tried to get an update on the balance with the online site even though it had never been used and it came up wrong number or pin. Looks like some sort of scam. BEWARE
Tried to check the balance of it (unused) a week ago, emailed customer service over 4 days ago asking why it isn't working and have had nothing. There's two numbers to enter it's not difficult. But the card is unusable. Effectively just a scam against people trying to just buy loved ones something nice.
We received a gift card from this company and the website is showing an error when you try to access it to book a restaurant. So I'm unable to book anything. We had hoped to use it for Valentines day but now we will be staying in! I did wonder if the company has gone bust or is it just a case that their website is down. Who knows but it's really not good. People buy these vouchers to treat loved ones and use their hard earned cash to buy them!
We have had these cards as gifts for a least three years. I always thought that there was a 12 month life from the time they were bought. I have read the terms and conditions again and it looks like they have updated it to 24 months. We have never had any problems with the cards - I just hand it over to the bar tender and they scan it, if it doesn’t cover the whole cost of the meal I pay the remainder. If there is anything left on the card they can tell me how much. Can’t understand some of these reviews. We are going out today on our Date Day (although we are 77yrs old Friday is the only day we have to ourselves!) so hubby is now looking at where he wants to go ( as long as it’s food I am not bothered) so I will get back to you with our experience of todays Date Day. Happy New Year everyone.
Update: we went to The Red Lion Shrewsbury- a Sizzling pub. The food was very good, the staff excellent, but although the toilets and wash basins were clean, they could have done with a spring clean: getting in the corners and the manky tiles behind the radiator which could be seen as you were drying your hands. I handed over my dinning out card, which they swiped and then I paid the remainder. No problems what so ever. We have another dinning out card to use another time and I don’t foresee any problems, so I do not understand these negative reviews.
Got this card bought for a present. When trying to take the silver cover off the pin number, it just rubs your PIN number off so it is unusable. Do not buy, it’s a waste of money. Really disappointing.
Bought 150 gift card they were super quick to charge my credit card then sent a message saying the order is “unable to be processed “ with no reason given despite the money being taken from my account
Appalling gift card.
Apparently there’s a life to the card which is not detailed on the card or the supporting information holder.
If you are considering buying one as a gift, please check the life of the card as the company will not extend this. I won’t be buying these again.
Expires after a year, £25 taken because expired!! (remainder of a £50 card).
Expensive, give cash or transfer the money.
Not happy with this Thediningoutgiftcard...
We received this card as a gift (2019), and tried to us it on 3/12/20, in one of the pubs noted on their card. When the waiter tried to scan it nothing happened, no matter what he did the computer said NO. Tried unsuccessfully to contact the card owners, but as yet no response, very disappointed in the whole gift card scheme. Would not recommend this voucher to anyone.
