Delay in credit refund at the end of contract, but after a quick call, Manny and the team sorting this for me straight away. Appreciate good customer service

About Bunch
Written by the company
Using innovative technology we are able to simplify people’s everyday lives by bunching ordinary, household bills into one platform and one monthly predictable bill.
We have created a selection of personalised packages to suit our differing customer needs. Meaning we’re able to help all our customers from students, to renters to homeowners.
Through our easy-to-use platform, customers are able to pick and choose what products they want to bunch into their package with options such as energy, super-fast broadband, water, contents insurance and lots more.
If our customers want to split their bills with other bill-payers they are able to do so (whether that be housemates or a partner). This allows our customers to have individual, personal liability and stops them being affected if others in the household have issues making payments. This helps to protect our customers and ultimately remove another layer of bill stress.
It’s important to us that our customers spend less time dealing with the hassle of bills and more time doing what they love. So at Bunch, we do all we can to make managing household finances easy.

This is my first time doing business…
This is my first time doing business with Bunch, customer service is impeccable. Faisal Mohammed was an absolute pleasure to speak with. He explained all the packages in detail, and answered all my questions.
Extremely poor customer service and…
Extremely poor customer service and failure to close our account
I have been trying to contact Bunch for weeks, calling every day and spending 20–40 minutes on hold, but I still cannot get through to anyone. I have sent multiple emails, submitted formal complaints by email and completed their own complaints forms, yet I have received no meaningful response.
Despite repeatedly requesting that our account be closed, Bunch continues to charge us. To make matters worse, they appear to have opened a second account using our details without our authorisation, while leaving the original account open. We have also discovered that we apparently received no bills or statements showing our energy usage for approximately a year, despite being charged extremely high amounts.
The complete lack of communication, transparency and accountability is unacceptable. I have exhausted every available avenue to resolve this directly with Bunch, yet they continue to ignore us and charge us.
I want our account properly closed, the charges investigated, a full breakdown of our energy usage and billing provided, and a meaningful response to our complaints. I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company.
Thinking of joining Bunch? Read this first. I made sure everything was done correctly, but the surprises kept coming
I've been dealing with billing issues with Bunch since 2024.
The biggest problem hasn't been one bill or one mistake.
It's been never knowing when something is actually finished.
I haven't ignored bills or waited for Bunch to chase me. Quite the opposite. I've repeatedly contacted them myself to check my account, understand exactly what I owed and make sure everything was being paid correctly.
My previous contract ended in November 2025 with an outstanding balance. I contacted Bunch specifically to establish exactly what remained. They calculated the balance and created the repayment plan themselves: two £300 payments followed by a final £211.32 payment.
I paid everything as agreed.
Then another balance of around £77 appeared.
I called again, they reviewed it, told me there had been an error and corrected it.
I thought that was finally the end.
Days later, the same contract, which ended almost a year ago, was recalculated again and another £251.37 appeared. Funny enough, they said that my readings were recalculated, but in the letter the readings were exactly the same; let's not forget, the reading is from one year ago at this stage.
That's what prospective customers need to understand.
Bunch calculated what I owed. Bunch arranged the repayments. I paid them. Another balance appeared. I contacted them again. They corrected it. Then another debt appeared anyway.
The phone experience hasn't helped. I've waited multiple times over an hour to speak to someone, and on some calls I've come away feeling that the person looking at the same figures as me wasn't confident about what they meant or how they were calculated.
Some agents have genuinely been helpful, and I want to be fair about that. But I've reached the point where I prepare for a Bunch call like a work meeting: bills open, portal open, previous agreements ready and figures written down.
That shouldn't be necessary just to understand what you owe.
I work in software. I understand systems fail and mistakes happen. I don't expect perfection. I expect problems to be investigated, corrected and, once I'm told something is resolved, to be able to rely on that.
This is also why it's about much more than £251. I'm a parent of a two-year-old. It's October, my bills are paid and Christmas is approaching. One unexpected £251 charge doesn't destroy a family, but repeated financial surprises over months and years affect what you save, what you postpone and what you feel comfortable spending.
Eventually, you stop trusting that money you think is available actually is, and i think it's important for people to understand this part before getting in here.
The latest recalculation also raises questions. Bunch says initial/final meter readings were changed, yet my original and revised bills appear to show the same total electricity and gas consumption. The revised broadband amount is also £174 higher. I've formally disputed these points and I'm waiting for their explanation.
I've now submitted a formal complaint backed by a 33-page evidence pack just to establish the final position of a contract that ended almost a year ago.
If you're considering Bunch because putting your household bills together sounds convenient, my advice is simple:
Keep every bill. Keep every email. Screenshot balances. Get payment arrangements in writing. Keep every receipt.
I did, and I'm very glad I did.
The problem isn't one unexpected bill. It's never knowing when you're actually finished.
I'll update this review when Bunch responds and the complaint is resolved.
But I have to be honest. At this point, I'd rather lose the £250 I'm disputing and have this review help one family who's considering a managed service because they think it will make their life easier.
Because for some families, £250 isn't just another bill. It can be the difference between buying the Christmas presents you wanted for your child and two parents standing there with a toy in their hands, looking at each other and saying:
“Next year will be better.”
That's why I'm writing this.
Incredibly helpful service today- Luke.

Awful company DO NOT USE
Awful company. My son used these with his partner to rent their first flat for the last year. Nightmare from start to end. Ridiculous hidden fees, delayed responses. Complete farce.
He's been actively trying to cancel all things with them from August this year. I've seen all the email trails. They are still taking money from his account despite us begging them in advance to cancel everything. They cancelled some, not all, and then take 10 days to respond to an email asking that everthing is cancelled for the 100th time. They last responded to his email on 25th sept saying another 'team' would get in touch with him. Its now the 8th October. No one has. . .
DO NOT SIGN UP
DO NOT SIGN UP. Ive left review before about how everythinf we contact them about gets botched now we are in serious trouble as the locsl water company are claiming we haven’t paid them - the bunch should be?! seriously avoid no one is answering to us

Aaliyah was immediately helpful in resolving my issues. Everything was sorted, and I received my refund as scheduled.
DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 The worst…
DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 The worst company I have ever come across. Absolute scam. They will rob you blind and then leave you on hold for hours until the clock turns 4 and then will just hang up. Will charge you quadruple but despite this; dont expect them to actually pay your bills. We received enforcement threats and water bills despite overpaying our bills the whole time we had been at the address because they werent actually sending the money to suppliers and now have had to proceed to legal action because of the thieving W⚓️s!!!!!
Efficient and helpful
Jordan was very helpful during our conversation. I appreciate his professionalism and civility in responding to my inquiries.
Mannys customer feedback
Manny was accommodating and understanding of my concerns and worries. I had been trying to get hold of Bunch since Thursday, so I was already feeling anxious and frustrated about the money owed to me. Despite this, Manny provided a top-tier level of service, showing patience, understanding and professionalism during what can be difficult financial times as a customer. I truly appreciate his support and the way he handled my concerns.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Mis-selling, GDPR Breaches, and Unauthorized Charges
If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with The Bunch has been an absolute nightmare of incompetence, coercive tactics, and extreme stress. This company is currently the subject of an active Energy Ombudsman investigation (Case Q188198), and I am reporting them to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Here is exactly what you can expect if you sign up with them:
1. Blatant Mis-selling: Their sales agent promised me a guaranteed flat monthly rate in writing. This was a lie. They hid the real tariffs, failed to provide transparent bills, and systematically overcharged me for the entire contract.
2. Unauthorized Deductions & Coercion: Even though my account is officially "frozen" due to the Ombudsman dispute, they used automated warning notices to threaten my credit file and force me into paying a disputed "final" bill. Then, today, they unlawfully dipped into my bank account and took another £106.09 without notice or justification.
3. Total Incompetence: I moved out months ago, yet I logged into their portal today to find they had negligently left 3 out of 4 of my utility services marked as "Live." They are actively trying to charge me for a property I no longer live in.
4. GDPR Data Breaches: They consistently send me invoices featuring the name of a complete stranger ("Thomas Simpson") who has never lived at my address. They have completely ignored my requests to fix this severe data breach.
The Bunch relies on aggressive automated billing software to extort money while their customer service team ignores you or makes false promises. I have had to instruct my bank to block them from my account.
Save yourself the anxiety, the lost money, and the legal battles. DO NOT use this company under any circumstances.
Direct and clear explanation and…
Direct and clear explanation and response. Good listening to my problem
Thank you Aaliyah for your assistance
Avoid at all costs! Scam
Avoid at all costs! Was with bunch for a year, and am still paying for it almost two years later. Still making random extra charges on my card, sending emails for hundreds of pounds owed despite being all paid up at the end of the contract. Trying to get any kind of customer service is like pulling teeth.
An absolute scam and not worth the trouble, please avoid especially young people don’t get tricked like we did!
(Also, Bunch are not a proper energy supplier. They resell energy from TruEnergy. Do not trust!)
The worst company I’ve ever used
The worst company I’ve ever used. Would never recommend this, it ahytning id actively tell people to avoid at all costs, made bills such an unnecessary hassle for 12 months. Judah was nice though.
Beyond terrible
Beyond terrible. Would not recommend to anyone. Sent over ten emails and no one answers the phone.
I have had a pretty awful experience…
I have had a pretty awful experience ranging from feeling like my data was scraped in the first place to prey upon what is quite a stressful moment of moving house to being certain that I was potentially being scammed.
There was some uncertainty about the property I was moving into and I had to arrange my utilities through other means which meant that I needed to be able to cleanly close my The Bunch account (I believe I was in the 14 day cooling off period when I first submitted a cancellation form), this simply did not and has not happened.
Somehow they have managed to double the amount shown as due after I asked for a refund of the initial payment and being told I would be given a refund and that my account would be closed.
This whole process has been going on for about a month now, the amount that shows as being due seems to randomly change every day. I am told I will be getting a refund in 6 - 10 working days and that my account will be closed/I can safely ignore the amount shown as being due, it has been about 7 days since I was told this, with no sign of a refund. Obviously at this point I am not sure I trust them to refund me and based on other reviews I don't see a reason to.
Awful customer service that takes ages to respond, the only way I have found that works to use the call back function on their phone line.
Don't Bother!
Ridiculously high fees.
Appalling amateur customer service.
As seen on BBC The One Show/Watchdog on 10th December 2025.
