Tappily provides flexible credit that is easy to manage and minimises costs, with a limit of up to £2,500.
Responsible lending
Here at Tappily, we are committed to lending responsibly, which means we are very careful when choosing how much to lend to our customers. We carry out strict, bespoke affordability checks using a customer’s credit file and bank transaction data. We will only lend what we believe to be affordable and will not cause our customers financial difficulty.
Automatic repayments
Tappily repayments are designed to be taken automatically:
  • Minimising the length of time a balance is outstanding
  • Saving you interest
If, after a payment comes into your account (your salary, for example), and you have enough available balance to make a repayment, our system will apply for up to 50% of your calculated disposable income.
  • We will only attempt for repayments up to this defined value in one calendar month
  • Once this limit has been reached, no further automatic repayments will be taken
  • This may be different from the minimum payment you must make each month
How do you access my bank data?
Access to your data is via a secure, encrypted channel under the government initiative of Open Banking. We collect the following information direct from your bank (once you have granted access);
  • Bank account number and sort code
  • Transaction data
  • Balance data

Crooks avoid using

Crooks. Reduced the amount of credit without warning and for no reason since I’ve made consistent monthly repayments. Avoid!

Edit (3/2/23): Since writing this review I’ve now been told I’m restricted from any borrowing for an undetermined amount of time while they ‘investigate’ my complaint, right after I’ve squared my balance to zero. So bad review = barred access, and I received an email to the effect of ‘don’t like it, report us then’, an absolutely abhorrent unprofessional and devious company, no surprise they’re in administration and being investigated now

Reduced the amount I can borrow

Reduced the amount I can borrow from 1000 to 250 without a notice. Changed the amount I automatically repay without my consent. I told them the dob on the account is wrong and they blocked my acces.

I have just received an email stating…

I have just received an email stating they have gone into administration, and they have reduced my borrowing amount by quite a bit without any notice! This has left me in a very precarious position whereas if id had a bit of notice, i could have made plans. Absolutely disgusting way to treat customers who have been paying a high cost for the service!

Whilst we await your response, we would like to take the opportunity to explain changes due to the recent Administration.

As per the email you would have received and further information available via the FAQs on the Tappily website, customers will be able to access either their full credit limit or a reduced limit equal to the highest amount they have borrowed in the last 30 days (i.e on or after 10 December 2022).

As a result your credit limit may have been reduced. We do apologies about the difficulty this may have caused.

The Company’s website provides further information about the Administration for customers and will be updated when further information becomes available https://tappily.co.uk/

I had a credit limit of £750

I had a credit limit of £750. It was then reduced to £100 without any notice! This has now left me in financial detriment until the end of the month! Responsible lenders?? I don’t think so.
