Yes we received a good service from the solicitor kept us informed of what was going on with the sale of the property

If my experience had solely been with Melanie Hirst I would have given this company 5 stars for a quick and efficient process.

However, from October 2023 to April 2024 I was with Mark Thornton (who has now left the company) and the experience was shocking. I was waiting weeks, sometimes a month for a reply regarding the sale of the property I was buying. The replies I would get were along the lines of “just waiting for answers on a couple things from the sellers solicitor”. I never got clarification on what we were waiting for, and this went on from January to April leaving me increasingly frustrated. Mid April Mark emailed on a Tuesday asking me to come into the office that week, his work hours were the same as mine and I was unable to do so, I emailed him several times about this, stating I could call if necessary but never received a reply. On the following Monday I got a call from Switalksi’s asking if I still wanted to proceed with the sale as nothing had been done on my case since January and Mark Thornton had left the company on the Friday. I was given no notice that he was leaving, and whilst the company sorted me out to be with Melanie Hirst one would think the leaving solicitor should have prepared where his clients were going, and notified them of his departure.

As a first time buyer this was a horrible experience, and if you choose to go with Switalkski’s I would be cautious which solicitor you use. I fully recommend Melanie as she completed the sale quickly and kept me well informed. The two stars are for her.

Switalskis were professional and proactive in dealing with all matters related to the sale of our cottage . They were very prompt in delivering information and responding to the buyer's solicitors questions . I have no hesitation in recommending them .

It was made a much easier move for an older person . Kept upto date on all matters. Always soneone to ask if needed.

The whole process of the sale of my house was made so much less stressful with the fantastic help and assistance from the team at Switalskis. And would recommend them without a doubt.

We assumed our journey of buying a house with lost deeds etc would be a long one to say the least. Mark Thornton (Honley, Huddersfield branch) however, got us through the process, smoothly and within a matter of weeks! We were actually ready and waiting for our chain free buyers in the end. Mark kept us updated throughout the whole process with regular emails etc, we never once had to chase him or felt left in the dark. We can't recommend Mark highly enough, thank you!

Mark Thorton was absolutely fabulous in handling our house purchase. In itself it was a tricky purchase and sellers made the process very difficult, but Mark was always thorough and resolute, always ready to take calls and quick to respond to any correspondace. Coudln't have had a better person on our team!

The solicitor was very pleasant but it was a very long drawn out process, not helped due to the fact that the solicitor had forgotten to forward paperwork to our son in Australia, until brought to her attention by us. Also, the number of copies of paperwork were incorrect.
