Great, apart from their customer support team
Amazing service from an in-store and bike rental perspective, but my goodness, their customer support team is beyond the pale. I wanted to downgrade my bike to a non-electric one as I don't like having to lug the battery around. I accepted that I am under contract for another 3 months, so I am happy to keep paying the more expensive cost for my electric bike, while downgrading to a non-electric version. But will they have it? No. They don't seem to have any understanding that a basic compromise like this would likely mean the customer will remain so for the next few years. As it is, it's highly likely I will leave at the end of my contract, which is a shame, as the in-store experience is so good. AVOID if you want to have even the slightest bit of flexibility in your contract.

-A loyal membership ( 6 or 12 months) where you pay a reduced price per month, which also means that you cannot change to a cheaper bike during the duration of the contract
-A flexible membership where you can cancel with 1 month notice and where you have more flexibility if you wish to change bike types
Unfortunately it seems that you selected the loyal membership and because of that it was not possible to switch to a different bike. Feel free to reach out to our customer service if you need further help.

Do not sign up in France, but amazing in Germany
I loved Swapfiets so much in Germany, best experience ever. Since coming to Paris, it has been one of my worst decisions to re-join (3 times now!), i just thought it could get better. but here in france, it is the most expensive, lower quality experience compared to other options. the germany locations/experience/bikes was incredible, they did not build that same amazing set-up here. just to be honest. gave them 3 or more tries in France, and I am sad to say but i think this will be the end once my membership expires. financially shocking for the number of broken bikes i have had, LOW LOW LOW quality battery (dont get electric, i have had 4-5 battery replacements). AMAZING Company and experience in Germany, I hope they improve in France so i can go back to being a happy loyal, forever customer. but if you live in Paris, just dont do it.

That is definitely not the standard we set for our e-bikes, and we completely understand your frustration after giving us multiple tries.

Simply the best bike rental service out…
Simply the best bike rental service out there. I have used it in London and Paris for at least a month boht times and won't use any other company. Such a great service and great bikes.

Great service but watch out for hidden costs
The service is great however there are some hidden costs I wasnt informed about, like the sign up fee of €19.90, or the fact that the monthly fees are for solar months, so if I buy theft cover for one month of usage, i would still pay for two months if i use my bike between say 15 July- 15 August. Also, there is no mention that the prices advertised exclude VAT. I only needed a bike for 28 days, I thought I was going to pay €21 monthly fee + €3.90 theft cover, I ended up with an invoice of €48. I recommend this to everyone staying in a city for a short period of time and not wanting to buy a bike. The bikes are great and the chance of theft is very low. But please be more transparent with the fees/prices.
