We were recommended to use SureSet Permeable Paving by a professional gardener who worked on a gardening programme on West Midlands Radio. We had heard a lot of stories about resin company cowboys and knowing SureSet came highly recommended when they suggested Sean from 1st Choice to lay the resin we felt very assured. As SureSet stated in their email to us they are vetted and receive direct training. Unfortunately after the resin was laid a stain appeared after a few days which just increased whilst waiting months to get Sean to return. As he laid this on SureSets training we feel they should have made Sean put this work right. We managed to get SureSet out to our property after months with Sean from 1st Choice and basically the outcome was SureSet maintain nothing wrong with their resin and Sean maintained he had laid correctly and he had shown SureSet photographs of his work. Sean intimated we must have done something to our new drive, well how ridiculous, the stain came through from underneath. We feel we paid for a 1st class job and were very let down by the two companies because we now live with a very unsatisfactory stained resin drive through no fault of ours.
Easy to select and pay. Very swift delivery. Clear instructions as to how to use. Just waiting better weather to use the repair kit

Very helpful for my needs and matching the repair required great kit supplied easy to follow instructions.
Ideally a smaller kit would have been useful as I wasted a lot having to mix it all.

As a small customer of little significance I had a problem with aggregate colour.
Sureset's response to my call was both considerate and efficient. and the immediate despatch of samples, followed by the product selected, resulted in my total satisfaction.
Other companies would do well to follow the Sureset example of exemplary customer service.
My thanks to both ALISTAIR and MICK. Your help was much appreciated.

Buyers beware. One of Sureset’s approved installers was about to lay suresets permeable solution to water management OVER our existing non permeable drive making it non SuBs (sustainable urban drainage systems) compliant in my eyes.
Every time it rains the water cascades down our non permeable drive (225m2 ish), on down the hill (1/2 mile from Birmingham city centre), contributing to flooding of roads/homes at the bottom and overloading the water system. We genuinely wanted a permeable solution that allowed water to pass straight through into the ground, minimising our impact. We found this with Sureset & may try again
I’m just saddened that Sureset allowed this installer & maybe others, to be Subs non-compliant.
Thank you for your response Sureset.
The 1 star was about my experience not your approximation on resin only costs (which was not obvious as being overlaying existing base, unless the clue is somewhere in ‘Thank you for your enquiry. To supply & install a natural aggregate over an area of 225m2 would be approximately £….’
You go onto provide contact details of your approved nearest SureSet installer if I’m happy with ball park figure ‘and as you are requiring full base preparation works….’. Someone who I see now was literally going to lay over the top of our existing drive which doesn’t come close to meeting your ‘specification for base preparation works’ permeable or non-permeable.
All new builds with drives over 5m2 have to be SuBs compliant & we were wanting to help in that way too.
Yes it was my misunderstanding (for which I’ve surely lost my deposit, left with pallets of edging bricks on drive he’d asked me to purchase & it’ll take another 12-18 months to sort) but he was your approved installer & I’m warning others to be aware.
I would give 5 stars for friendliness of SureSet office staff, Nick, Jacqui & Georgia who provided me with support from May-Aug in contacting your approved installer when he had issues.
Update
And I would have appreciated an overall 5 star experience

Had a number of email conversations with SureSet to ensure that I was getting the correct product and colour for my use. The information and samples provided by their customer service was excellent and as such I ordered a number of the DIY kits. The order was processed efficiently and arrived in good condition on the date I was told. I'm a complete novice when dealing with resin based products, but each kit came with very comprehensive instructions and ALL the safety equipment needed. I'm extremely pleased with the results and will be using SureSet again for further projects I have next year.

We have a well constructed and sound concrete drive constructed by our builders in 1974,
Some nearby properties have replaced the original concrete with decorative paved surfaces. There seem ongoing maintenance problems such as ponding algae weeds and cleaning.
In their "residential how much will it cost" section the Suresite website provided a "ball park" figure of £50-70 per sq metre.
This figure was within our budget particularly if a promotion could be applied to assist publicity - and if nearby properties would also be interested.
Alas all is most disappointing as we have had an email today stating that the ballpark figure is about double the one set out.
"I must also advise that for your project, an idea of price, as an example, based upon a 30m² area using a 6mm natural aggregate, such as our 6mm Barley Butter, installed at a 18mm depth, you would be looking at approx. £110.00 - £150.00/m² + VAT supplied and installed with our 21 year guarantee. Please be advised that this is a ballpark figure only and does not include any preparation or base works."
Guess this can be compared with the ballpark figures from the EU cricket club and the ballpark figures of the UK football club on oven deals.
UPDATE
The time and trouble taken by Sureset to explain what has happened is most appreciated.
The price guide provided was clearly given on their official website in response to following the dedicated button for residential properties and their estimated costs.
We would expect prices on the website to be current one. Sureset explain it was an undated "blog", presumably from a third party, and perhaps that should have been clearer.
It is difficult to tell the extent to which inflation or recent materials costs have resulted in a doubling of the price in a relatively short period. For many of us inflation and labour costs have been kept under control.
As requested by Sureset I have reconsidered my review and have now put "unintentional" to precede "misleading" in the title
