TPO was started by three friends sharing a common vision. To transform something that people use everyday, their mobile phones, into a force for good. They launched it in late 2012 in the UK and it's been growing ever since. In January 2014, Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, joined the company. Our goal is to raise billions for good causes worldwide, delivering goodness with every connection made. 10% of customers’ mobile bill is directed to their cause or charity of choice at no extra cost to them.

I am very pleased with TPO after being a lifelong ATT, T-Mobile customer - also have tried Consumer Cellular, Straight Talk, none of them worked well for me. I own my own phone and primarily use wi-fi data, so its perfect for me. Customer service is US based and very good! The charity donation aspect adds icing to the cake.
Great Organization, Wonderful Reception, Poor Support.
TPO is a fantastic organization which has taken something we all use and love (cellphones) and paired that to help us fuel the causes we love to support.
Their prices are very affordable, the focus on non-profit causes impeccable the only areas that could use some further investment are their customer support and the offering of unlimited data plans.

An Absolute Nightmare
Absolutely atrocious customer service. Unreliable, unprofessional, and inconsistent.
The cell phone service itself worked just fine for six months, and then tanked. I was suddenly unable to send or receive texts, or use my data. I put up with it for six more months, thinking it was simply because I moved to a different town and had poor service. I finally got sick of it and asked TPO what was going on (via email, since the cell phone service was so painfully unreliable), and after waiting a week to hear back, they told me they no longer supported Verizon phones. Just flat out stopped. No courtesy email to their customers or anything.
I got frustrated and requested a refund for the six months I had terrible cell phone service. They sort of complied by refunding 50%. It was better than nothing, so I decided to give them another chance. I bought a Sprint phone that worked on their network according to the compatibility check on their website, and requested a new SIM card. And what do you know, the sim card was invalid. I had absolutely zero service for another month while I attempted to resolve it with TPO's customer service, once again via email, with days, even weeks between responses. Apparently I couldn't activate the sim card because the account I set up was on a GSM network, and my new phone was CDMA. Surprise surprise, they can't switch an account to the other network, so I was stuck with no service unless I went through the trouble of registering a new account and ordering yet another SIM card.
I finally got fed up, requested the final 50% of my refund, and the information needed to port my cell number over to a different provider. The issue was escalated to the manager of their customer service department, who assured me that the remainder of my refund would be mailed to me as soon as my account was deactivated. Two weeks following my deactivation, I still hadn't seen my refund. I asked for clarification on whether it was being mailed to me or they were depositing it back onto my debit card, and again, they didn't get back to me until almost a full week had passed. The Vice President of Operations promised an answer the next day, and then never responded.
It has been two months. Two. Months. Still no refund.
Don't be fooled by how pretty the website looks or how enticing the prices are. It is not worth the trouble of dealing with their customer service if anything goes wrong. It's like pulling teeth to get in contact with them at all, let alone get your problem resolved.
Refused to activate service
The inability of this company to properly on-board me with new service was completely astounding. Mysterious e-mails telling me to do one thing, then follow-up e-mails telling me to do quite another. In the end, I paid for a phone that I couldn't use, because they refused to activate the service -- and wouldn't explain why they refused. No wonder the stock price is down 97% in the past year. The company is broke, and I can certainly see why.
No issues at all
No issues at all, won a contest on facebook and got free service for a year and some other prizes, highly recommended!!!
Couldn't ask for more
So far at least, none of the usual phone company BS, only reliable service at a great price, and I get to make a small contribution to charity. At my data usage level. TPO Mobile is the perfect fit.
Great customer service, good coverage in cities
I really like TPO and have been impressed by their customer service. I'd also recommend them to my friends - and have already. The missing star is just that the coverage is not as expansive as other providers, so travels far away (very rural) from cities can mean low or no bars. I'm almost never away from cities except when I also want to be away from my phone, so it's no big deal for me to lose a bit of theoretical coverage so that I can save over $40/month off stupid Verizon. My bill now is $20 and my service in this coffee shop is full bars 4G LTE. So, there you have it.
Great experience
Great experience. Good price, no complaints, no connection problems.
wish it supported wi-fi calling
Service is fine
Service is fine. Nothing wrong with it. Data is a bit slow and seems to run out very fast but at least it works.
Excellent for what I need.
TPO is reasonably priced (for the US)
TPO is reasonably priced (for the US), but the coverage isn't great. For some reason, I have no coverage in the old buildings in which I work and live. Other networks do have coverage in these buildings. I don't know what the problem is, but this is definitely a drawback! I also travel a lot for work and do not consider the international packages available either user friendly or reasonably priced.

Like the core of this company
Like the core of this company. The fact that part of our monthly fee can be designated to a worthy charity is great. Also the cost is more that reasonable. Sometimes the coverage just doesn't happen. Otherwise, I would give it all 5 stars.
