I had my belongings in storage for a few months and they were in good condition when I retrieved them. The shed is well secured and the staff were helpful and friendly each time I interacted with them.

Renting a unit in the Motherwell facility for approximately six months has been a good experience. The premises are clean, the signage clear, and the range of unit sizes provides a good choice. Managing one's own space is straightforward, with good access, trolleys provided, and a trolley lift. On the odd occasion when I needed help from staff, emails or phone calls were promptly answered, and admins were unfailingly helpful. Recommended.

I opened an account after some problems with the verification system; the ladies in the office were very helpful - no quibbles there. However, when I tried to open the roller shutter door to access the unit, I couldn't get it open more than a couple of feet. I tried two more next to it, which I knew were available, and couldn't get them open either.
I 'phoned the office and spoke to a service engineer. He could see my struggles on his CCTV, and admitted I looked to be having problems; that the doors should open readily, and offered me another unit; I did manage to raise this one, but again with a lot of effort. I closed the unit and returned the next day; again I found the door almost impossible to open. At that point, I decided that I would not want to pay for a unit that had not been adequately serviced, and that I couldn't readily access. I e-mailed the office and explained, and said that I accepted that I would have to bear the cost I had already paid. I have had an e-mail in reply, accepting that my contract would end after the first month, and no further payments taken.
And now, I have a polite little e-mail explaining how all my future payments will be taken - and asking me for a review
Hence this review. Check the doors!

Overcharge you then take ages to pay you back-couldn't care less.
Bug you when enquire about a unit and charge you for days when they know you cant access the unit, e.g putting padlocks on without codes despite being paid. the inability to pay on line when the are card issues.
Staff are highly irritating and speak like idiots, i arranged to make a payment for a whole month only to literally 5 minutes later have money taken from my card but for 2 weeks because i apparenTly gave 2 weeks notice- IDID NOT!
LEFT HAVING TO MOVE OUT in mid week absolute lying scum. In response payment was made but access was denied therefore you breached your contract by not giving access, btw your units have a rodent problem if you contact me I will show the mouse droppings and damage to my belongings.

Used this place for a few months during winter and multiple items are now mouldy.
We raised a complaint and apparently there is no water entering the unit, so they will not pay out for the items that are ruined, including a pram that is worth a lot of money.
Something isn’t right, I’ve stored multiple items in a basic shed for over a year, in all weathers, and never seen mould like this.
There was a gap at the back of the unit where you could see down onto the ground where water was sitting. Not sure if this has caused it but something is wrong.
Everyone I have shown the images to have been shocked and also agree something isn’t right. The items were in different areas of the unit, so not one section only. Be very careful if you’re considering using this company and their units

Absolutely shocking customer care, safety practices and service!!!! Signed up with Storage vault in October 2025.
Issue 1) - Arrived with a car full of things to add to a 2nd story lock up to find the lift out of action. An hour and six trips up and down 4 flights of stairs later and through a maze of units we had our things away safely. Or so we thought
Issue 2) - Arrived to find our padlock had been replaced with another padlock, initially told in no uncertain terms this was not down to them, not their fault and could not happen.... only to then be told, "oh sorry, the janitor chopped it off by mistake so replaced it with one of our generic padlocks." One which god knows how many people have the code to and who has been inside in the meantime.
Had to chase up a call back from a manager, no apology offered and no offer to resolve other than we will replace the padlock and send you a new one. To date, and this was back in November and this is now March 17th, no new padlock has been sent to us.
We also had to ask for a resolution and were given a £27 deduction on the next months rent. Fair enough!
Issue 3) - This weekend my husband arrived again and this time, to no padlock at all. Wide open locker containing expensive items just left open to all!!!
Asked for a manager callback and again, two days passed with nothing. I called today to have the pleasure once again of speaking to Micheal, who I dealt with previously and who I can only assume they get to deal with calls as he's likely to bore customers to death or have them just grateful to get him off the phone. He waffled on for 15 mins on who was speaking to whom and who was looking at what and it would "hopefully never happen again". Repeat this for 15 mins and you get the gist!
Again I asked whether we were at least getting an apology and what was their resolution as by now we had lost all confidence and were beginning to have serious doubts as to what was going on here. What is the nest issue.... no padlock, no CCTV and woops sorry, everythings been taken but just contact your own insurance!!!????

Absolutely shocking company and service. Other than the girls who always seem to answer calls at the weekend and who have the most lovely customer service, the place is unsafe, unfit for purpose a complete lack of customer care.
Be VERY aware before opting for this lock up facility as there have got to be better run companies about than this!!!!
I felt closed in the 1st time it's because I haven't done this before so hopefully i will feel okay on Friday. Glad I got something because my house is to full with bags and Glad to keep all my belongings safe at yr storage. Thanks again to help me out with it. Much appreciated

I spoke to someone on Tuesday I was needing storage inbetween a house move was told to send over paperwork and ID and that a unit was available for my date however just received a call today - Saturday telling me they can’t offer me a unit as the one I was allocated has been extended With whoever is using it. Sorry but why allocate a unit if you don’t have one just waisted my time in an already difficult situation giving me 5 days to find another unit. Would not recommend

Used the storage vault Motherwell for 4 months to store all of our house contents while we waited on our house being built. It was an easy process, great space (we had a XL unit) and very reasonably priced including the first 2 months half price. Would absolutely recommend and if we need storage again we’d be back.
