STORAGE POST IN PELHAM MANOR have rented orage units…

I have rented 2 20 foot storage units at Storage Post in Pelham Manor for going on 2 years. I am only still there because I am in the process of buying a new home. A WORD OF WARNING TO THOSE CONSIDERING TO RENT THERE: DON'T!!!!

1. When you pay for temperature controlled, that is what you expect to get. Not so at this location (and I expect all Storage Post locations). It is very hot in summer & VERY COLD in the winter. I went there last winter for 2 days in a row with a helper to organize so I could find things. It was so cold, we could see our breath in the air. We BOTH got sick with respiratory infections & mine went into pneumonia & I did not recover until spring. I went there today (12/13/24) to get some things out. The on-site manager was so cold, he had his coat on. There was no heat at all and it was in the '30's today.

2. They have just raised rents again, to add insult to injury and current tenants are leaving.

3. They only have on-site staff from 2pm - 6pm. The bathrooms are locked & the only ones are on the 1st floor. So if you must go to the bathroom, (AND IF IT IS BETWEEN 2PM & 6PM) THEN YOU MUST CLOSE UP YOUR STORAGE ROOM & GO DOWN TO FL 1 TO GET A KEY FROM THE MANAGER.

4. In an effort to control costs, they keep the hallway lighting very low. It is spooky & depressing to go there, not to mention the fact that it is very difficult to see items in one's unit.

5. As with all other storage places, they give you a sale price to get you to rent there and then raise the rent while counting on the fact that it is just too much trouble to move.

I HAVE ITEMS IN OTHER STORAGE FACILITIES AND THIS PLACE IS BY FAR THE WORST, SECOND ONLY TO PUBLIC STORAGE IN PELHAM MANOR WHICH IS COLD DARK AND MICE INFESTED.

As long as people keep renting from these places, they will keep on taking advantage of their tenants. Please boycott Storage Post in Pelham Manor and ANY STORAGE FACILITY THAT TREATS TENANTS LIKE THIS. I am putting a 1 star rating only because I am forced to in order to have my review accepted.

suffern ny

suffern ny, I have been a customer for over eight years, I was in a terrible car accident and sustained many injuries including surgery, they will not honor late fee waivers despite my condition. I want to pay what I owe but cannot with the additional ridiculous fees, this is how they treat a loyal customer. My children's memorabilia are in there.

Late fees are outrageous

Late fees are outrageous. Find a different place. Once you're late you can no longer pay online. Then 100 bucks is added to the bill. Wot work with you.

HORRIBLE CORPORATE OFFICE PEOPLE AND DISTRICT MANAGER

Their location service used to be good but not anymore. One serious concern I have is when they have drilled long screws to reinforce the bottom part of all the storage spaces, this long screw drilling has gone through one of my expensive pro-audio accessories boxes and I'm hoping that it has not damaged my accessories.
Overall, storage post location management should be more careful when drilling long screws for a thin metal reinforcement. I also feel that they should lower my monthly payment (which they won't) for the next two years because of this and keep all my access the same, then I will say that it is even.

UPDATED ON 04/30/2022: I would like to say that this Storage Post location(s) surely loves to increase tenant rates every 6 months or so and when you contact the New District Manager "Mohammed Sadqeen", he refuses to waive the sudden high increase of $15 which is ridiculous. If you have District Managers like this, then you will have many tenants leaving your storage one by one. This is a very good way to push your loyal tenants away.

Beware of this Storage Post location(s)!!!

We seriously and highly DO NOT recommend to anyone looking for storage place at this Storage Post or any other Storage Post location as long as these id**ts who work in this corporate are there. These corporate people at storage post are totally horrible and very controlling along with being very greedy for money!!! No Good Customer Service Ethics What-So-Ever!!!

4077 Park USED to be a wonderful facility…

There used to be a wonderful facility manager here named Leslie who would never let this happen. I came here today and there was a yellow lock on my unit. I always pay on time, so I came out and asked why there was a lock on it. This is Saturday, Sept 18, 2021 at 6:30pm. The man on this shift has a beard and immediately started speaking to me very disrespectfully. I was stunned, because I approached him calmly. Hey, mistakes happen, but I expect to be treated with the respect that I show others. The first 2 times he mumbled, "Alright..geeze..It's not that big a deal.." I stayed quiet. After his 3rd snotty outburst, I asked him why he was speaking to me that way. He said, because it's funny. I disagreed, and asked him if he would be speaking down to me if I were a male..because he was being EXTREMELY condescending. I asked him how he would feel in my place and told him I didn't find anything funny. He said, "Yes..it IS funny.." 1. You shouldn't locking the units of people who are paid up on time. 2. It wasn't even about the lock. It was about the fact that you have someone working for you who should not be dealing with people. Your facility is very nice, but this employee behaves shamefully.

Bring a Kayak

Storage Post Journal Square Jersey City sits on a flood plain as identified by FEMA maps. They have flooded in the past and did so again on 9/1/21 thanks to Ida. They do not disclose to tenants that this is possible, has happened in the past and do little to disclose any facts about the building security and viability due to said damage. After Ida tore through the vague email received 24 hours after stated "water was seen outside your unit" No this was not a coffee spill this was a RIVER of water that ran throughout the building up to 3 inches permeating EVERY SINGLE UNIT on the ground floor, some more than others depending up location, such as point of entry, the size of the unit, the material inside the unit such as boxes which absorb more water. Many tenants are displaced are not able to access or return said unit which at that point the Management need permission to cut locks and take photos and inform tenants. The best they offered - Dumpsters. They have denied any culpability for said damage, are not honoring their bogus "elite tenant" insurance telling tenants to file claims against one's own home owner/rental policy. This is flood damage requiring a specific policy that oddly they should have given where their business is located and the history. They are also entitled to FEMA damage assistance which they can apply for once all damage has been assessed. They won't be doing that as that requires work and effort such as well preventative measures such as sandbagging, telling tenants about the problem and providing necessary help to raise items, sand bag within building or take precautions. NOPE they won't be doing that either as its hard! The reality is that the damage is excessive, the building and facility itself despite mediation is incomplete and potential health hazard. No information nor advice on how to protect oneself or one's belongings is provided, just denial and avoidance of responsibility. People lost their livelihoods as many have business related equipment, their history and their personal possessions they may have stored there while temporarily relocating during Covid. The reality is that they assume we are all transient deadbeats with inadequate resources to house our belongings or are some type of hoarders who could use a good clean up. What.ever

WATER LEAK - bad service

WATER LEAK at climate controlled facility

Storage Post has been really difficult to deal with, they didn't respond to my claim email for 6 months.

Offering <10% of the loss. Citing the coverage of the Tenant Elite Protection plan that I was made to sign without being given a chance to review. Sent only after they made an offer and for the exact amount of the offer - funny that.

Climate controlled is worthless when the unit floods

THE "KEY" TO GREAT SERVICE

I think the staff you deal with on a regular basis is the lifeblood of a business, because they are essentially the "face" of an organization; they shape how you perceive the company you are doing business with. I have been dealing with Leslie Key at the 4077 Park Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457 Storage Post for years. Since I signed up, he has personified the epitome of fine service for me. I have always felt welcomed and Leslie's stellar personality and level of professionality make you feel safe in storing items for both personal and business. I need storage for many reasons on a regular basis and Storage Post is my go to place and always will be as long as people like Leslie are running the show. I like to do business with a place that is clean, organized and well-managed. If problems arise, I like to feel that someone is in charge who can have it handled in a swift and efficient manner. I feel confident that I made the right choice with Storage Post. I don't write many reviews at all, but this one was a long time coming. I just wanted to say thank you, Leslie, for managing a great site. A lot of other businesses should literally take lessons from you. If anyone should represent Storage Post it's Mr. Leslie Key; he is an invaluable asset to your organization. TEN STARS!!

32 Grand Avenue are THIEVES

The storage place on grand street have been experiencing theft for the past month. Unfortunately I’m one of their victims... someone took the time to clip my lock, search through my boxes, took everything of value they could find and placed a different lock on my unit.

This is unacceptable and I will be filing a lawsuit.

Bums always going to be bums.... karma will catch you good.

Been a long time tenant and customer…

Been a long time tenant and customer for Yonkers location and never had a problem with my packages being shipped to this store. Packages are for a company I worked for and for the first time when they management has change the new employee Santana has been not helpful and says my package is not the. UPS tracking shows it was delivered last Friday 10:07 AM and received by Santana. I came at 9:08 AM to pick up Monday she says no packages was delivered. She is strongly not helpful even if I went back in the office to ask her to double check and showed her the tracking. Prior to this Santana made me sign a waiver regarding liability regarding if packages are damages and storage post is not liable. She was on the phone while she was making me sign this and cant even explain to me what is written in the paper and also was not given a copy.

Since this change of management Ive been having problems with this storage unit and I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this storage post location due to this management. I hate giving reviews to this location every time a major incident happens but it cant be helped.

Thank you Kristian!

Thank you so much to Kristian who has been so helpful at my storage post in Fordham rd in the BX. I love that he’s there. Every time I come he’s very nice always greets us and says hello. Always asks us how he can help us. We are so happy that he’s there. Makes the place so much better. We are happy when we go that he’s there I know we will get the help we need. Also ever since he’s there the place is cleaner it smells nicer as well. Before it was not as clean and always smelled. Honestly we were thinking of either moving to a different storage or just closing it down and leaving because the storage was smelly and always dirty. But Kristians help and how he takes care of the storage in general is very nice and pleasant.

Mold Damage Due to Leaking Sprinkler ( Storage Post Suffern,NY)

In December 2018 at the Storage Post in Suffern,NY, we discovered our household items were covered in mold in unit 1190. It was not visible upon entering the storage unit as I visited the storage unit on several occasions to check on the items. Upon further investigation there were residual water marks on the ceiling of the unit. After speaking with a representative at the location, it was brought to my attention that the unit had a sprinkler leak. I filed a claim with their department, and they denied the claim even though their facility had a sprinkler leak and due to the fact, we refused insurance. Even if we took out the insurance, their insurance does not cover mold damage. The mold was not due to a fault of ours. It was a fault of their building. After losing all our items in a fire, we were depending on the items that we had in storage and was not able to use any of the because of the mold. In addition, our daughter was asthmatic and with no other option we had to take the furniture with us to determine what was salvageable. Following that the newly renovated home eventually showed evidence contamination. Better Business Bureau investigated the concerns and were ignored like I did. A police report was filed and no compensation was offered. We lost at least $40,000 of household goods with no proof of value to the house fire. That was my experience with the Storage Post in Suffern,NY
