I really liked the idea and when I tested it, it was very good, performant and actually really nice. Would be 5 stars, if the games catalogue wouldnt be that bad. Game Pass shows how this should be done. I really don't want to buy all my games again - I don't want to buy games in general. I would like to pay a monthly fee like Game Pass and if I play or not is my problem. Sometimes I have to work a lot, so I pay a subscription and cant use it - and yet I like the subscription model much more! WHEN I have time, I can play everything thats available in game pass. really really sad that stadia opted to sell games the classic way :( so its nothing for me then.

Stadia's billing sucks

So I'm not having as many issues with playing my games, but there is one major issue I have. Google stadia's pending payment thing, most recently this month Google stadia charged my account on the 29th it took them two days, after the payment was approved, to finish doing their thing with their books to confirm the payment and now my account is overdrawn by almost $40 because they BS'd for 2 days. This is on top of throughout the last 2 years me having numerous times where I had to cancel my subscription and resubscribe because their system would not confirm payment for me from any debit card. At one point I used seven different debit cards trying to pay my account, from my family that all had more than that all had triple digits in their bank accounts, and it still wouldn't clear saying insufficient funds, so I have to cancel my subscription and resubscribe now I'm getting charged overdraft fees on my account because they're billing department screwed up. Yes it's only $34 but $34 matters when you are a single parent of a 2-year-old child.

I'm a bit disappointed with this device, chromecast is total rubbish doesnt have the apps I would like so I've resorted back to using my firestick. The gaming device is a great idea dont get me wrong however when you move the device from place to place it's such a pain trying to get the controller to work each time have to manually connect each time and its rather frustrating. I bought this this thinking it would be great on the move to keep the kids occupied but sadly was not what I was expecting. The game play is great but sadly the device lacks in the game quality greatness if the process was very easy to setup I would have given it more stars so sadly three it is.

Im really tired of this stadia..

Im really tired of this stadia... so dissapointed. I paid full price for a game that doesnt work properly. I get told to try it on a pc... on the pc it looks terrible so I pay for stadia pro to see if that helps (I have a gaming pc with gaming monitor) and it still looks like I'm paying on an old consol. worst decision tring to switch over to Stadia.

Requested a refund for FIFA 22 for poor gameplay and laggy responses, still waiting after a full month with no response.

Cant play it on my 4k tv, the lag and response times are shocking on all the games I have tried. I have 150 mb line plugged through ethernet. Cant play it on PC because the quality is shocking.

Dont subscribe to pro it's a con.

I feel very mislead about my pro membership the service performance is ok but the sales team, marketing team and after care is non existent. It's more 'tuff luck' than 'we care'. The pro subscription is ment to offer discounts on titles but the latest 75% off offer on assassin's valhalla which is still being promoted 5 days after the offer ended as a pinned tweet was only available for a day. This is when your told a pro subscription gets you offers for a month. Games are over expensive, and customer service tells you to no tweet in public but in private does nothing to alleviate the issue. I would avoid and I will go out of my way to warn others not to use the service.

First in line for support for over 45 minutes. Made a purchased under the "free stadia premiere" with my purchased.

It being 10 days after my purchased and not a single email from Stadia with instructions to get my free Stadia premiere.

Waited 1st in line for support for over 45 minutes. Until I gave up. Not recommended this service to anyone.

WHY ,

i d'ont love that because of the pro games no pro games need to play with the stadia servers because not all the pro games can destroy your pc and the rest of the games are not free I thought everything was included in the subscription

Shocking experience, beware of fraudulent charges

I'm shocked by the way Google Stadia treated me. I've never used Google Stadia, but they kept taking money from my account. I reported it to Google Stadia to get my money back, but they refused, and what's even worse, they refused to stop taking money from my account. They told me to stop the subscription from my Google Stadia account, but as I don't have a Google Stadia account I couldn't do that and it was clear that these were fraudulent charges.

In the end I had to create a dispute with Amex, and I have finally got my money back. This has definitely left a really bad taste in my mouth, and as someone who uses Google's products daily, I will definitely start phasing them out. The company has just gotten too big and greedy and the customer service levels have gone down the drain.

The streaming service works, controllers are terrible.

The streaming service works well if you are on a computer with a wired controller. No complaints. It's solid, and responsive. You'd never know you weren't playing a local game so long as your internet isn't bad.

Under no circumstance should you buy the Stadia controllers. This is the reason for only giving this service 3/5. The controllers are absolute garbage. They will claim there is no to minimal input delay but it is seriously bad. It's really obvious in games that require any amount of twitch reflexes. You will fail to pass QTE or your characters will die doing thing you had zero problems with on a hardwired controller. I've seen other Stadia folks wanting Dark Souls and similar games and I can't even imagine how bad that experience would be with the Stadia controller.

On top of that the controllers will sometimes just disconnect and you have to run through this annoying process of re-pairing them to the chromecast.

So in short, do check out Stadia but avoid avoid avoid the terrible controller. Save your money. Seriously a knock off wired XBOX controller off Amazon will work better.

the truth

stadia is decent if your internet is good. i bought nba 2k21 and couldn't even get through a quick match. i did like how easy it was to setup my controller and the graphics weren't bad until gameplay. i give them 2 stars for the fact that they refunded me without hassle and overall the service of stadia is affordable. i would suggest you guys to try the free trial first and make sure your internet speed is excellent and try the free games before purchasing one.

Unsubscribing failure

Like many customer below, got an unsubcribe issue.

Got stuck with 10€/month fees for 4 months before realizing it. Didn't used the product at all (0 connection). Asked politely for a refund but got refused.

Avoid the free trial as you might face the same problem....

It's all fine until it isn't

So I bought the game "The Crew 2" on Stadia. After playing the introductory missions, it seems to have glitched and while it will launch, you can't actually play the game. Stadia say it's a UbiSoft problem, UbiSoft say it's a Stadia problem.
I'd love to be able to play the game. Being able to play the game would be my ideal outcome, but I can't failing that I've love a refund, but that's been refused too. I guess my only way forward at the moment is to chase the bank for a charge back!
Another outcome of this is that I am seriously thinking of cancelling my Stadia Pro subscription. The games being offered on Pro are mostly trash and not the kind of games that subscribers were told they'd get!

Unsubscribing failures

When unsubscribing, you can manage your google subscriptions (subscriptions made through google). When cancelling your subscription there it should stop normally (like for every other shop) but for google's products there is an exception lol, it continues untill you unsubscribe on stadia's website itself. So if you've the right reflex to go on their website to unsubscribe it's fine otherwise you're f*cked. They apply their policy to other brands/shops but not theirs, in other terms misusing their notoriety and confidence. Except from that, no judgement, I personally don't like it because the games and the way of playing are realy different from PS and XBOX making it a different gaming experiment that I was used. This is my opinion so no facts at all but their way of billing isn't honest.

For me Stadia is amazing but !!!

For Me Stadia is amazing but !!!! check your download speed and stability of wifi very carefully I have 80mbps and its great very little issues and next to no lag but if you have not got quick broadband please dont bother as you will be very frustrated and annoyed. I use the new chromecast ultra which has ethernet cable port on the plug which I have not needed as dont need to hard wire but its there if you wifi cant cope. I can go from the chrome cast to my laptop with no issues at all. So thats the first point to ask is my broadband going to be quick enough and remember its not Googles fault if your broadband is too slow for the platform. The next thing to consider it the type of gamer you are if you want a large collection with all the top titles like Cod and fifa then again Stadia may not be for you. As Stadia evolves the games increase and its great to not have to store disks ect. So there it is great for some but not for others check your broadband speed carefully and you can do this without any financial commitment using you laptop, Chromecast, pc ect.

Google Stadia: The single worst customer service experience ive ever had. No joke.

Google Stadia: The single worst customer service experience I have ever had - and I'm not exaggerating. My girlfriend bought me a google stadia premium bundle and extra wasabi controller for xmas - by 2 january the chromecast had overheated and stopped working. I spent two hours on the phone before getting a replacement sent in advance in return for a hold on my credit card. The replacement arrive in one business day - impressive. I print out the return label and go to my locla DHL service point - closed. I call up and ask what i do as the nearest one is closed and the next nearest looks an hour away. The rep promises to email me after speaking to the shipping department in two working days latest with a solution and meantime to extend the return period from 26 jan given they owe me some help returning it. I dont hear anything after three days - what happens next includes 42 minutes spent on phone hold with no anser two tweets with no answer, and probably in excess of 15 hours or more on google chat over a week and a half, constantly getting passed from team to team, rexplainaing the problem, being promise email solutions and never getting them, having things escalated only to get into a circular conversation about how i should speak to dhl which i told them i tried and it's impossible. How home collection during covid is 'out of scope' and just blank silence when confronted with the reality that it is impossible to return the item via DHL as ive tried - in person - cycling to 3 separate local DHL service points all of whom are open but not doing DHL services because of covid. Meantime, the new replacement premium bundle worked properly for a week, then worked but not in the right way (chromecast invisble on the google home app but connectable via guest pin) then the same thing happened and it overheated and stopped working. So now I have not one but two faulty bundles, no way of returning either of them and days of lost time and customer service who seem incapable of solving a simple return. Apple and Amazon get this done in 20 mins or less. I expected SO so much more from a global brand like google, especially on a signature product. The service has been so bad it's done a rare thing and motivated me to write a formal complaint and find every available feedback mechanism to warn people - faulty products, horrendous customer service - save your sanity and precious time and please do not bother with this product. Life is far far too short. Im currently awaiting my .. i dont know how many times ive been escalated - they cant guarentee it will be a call or when it will happen in spite of the looming return deadline and the wake of a horrific experience. SOME individual customer reps have done what they could within limited remit and extraoirdinarily disjointed customer service but the process has a whole is utterly woeful. Oh i didnt even mention that i was accidentally connected to google support US without either of us realising. With the whole thing done via chat it's not in any way joined up. It's not impossible to join up a support service done entirely over chat and if anyone should be capable of it it's google so please please for the sake of your customer's sanity get your act together.
